00:00I had a dream and it came true and that can happen and that's wonderful and so
00:13that was all I was saying was that it can and it did.
00:21Playing Fantine having to connect with the darkness of life and I think maybe
00:27more to the point the unnecessary suffering that human beings can inflict
00:31on each other. I would have loved to have gone home and forgotten about that
00:36every day but you just can't because it exists and it exists for millions of men
00:40and women throughout the world. I think this film changed me because it made me
00:44more compassionate and more aware. Hugh is this magical alien combination of
00:52strength and soul and heart and artistry and fun and I you know if you
00:59think about it I mean not to get serious but we we do live in a world that can
01:03tend towards the cynical and to have someone in a film like this where it's
01:09inherent to the film success that you believe in the goodness of the central
01:15character and that someone like Hugh exists who has that goodness within him
01:19it made the film soar. You're always looking for the next job you always
01:23think at the end of one it doesn't matter what's happened before no one's
01:26ever gonna hire me again so I do feel this evening the respect of my peers and
01:33I'm gonna ride that wave for as long as I can but I I do also have a practical
01:37approach to acting which is gotta work gotta work gotta work
