00:18Were you surprised by it, or were you and other Patriot fans expecting more?
00:23Well, I tried to be realistic.
00:26I was surprised.
00:27I thought that maybe Milton would bring back a little more, particularly in light of some
00:35of the other recent trades for backup quarterbacks, but then you start to think about reasons
00:40why they traded him, and obviously the guy you just heard me try to describe with that
00:46sensational play in Tennessee last year is the primary reason, Drake May, his classmate.
00:52They drafted the two quarterbacks, as you know, together.
00:55But I think also that Joe Milton had this remarkable flourish to end the season against
01:01the Buffalo Bills, and he has tremendous physical skills.
01:05But he is still, I think, very much a great unknown, and a lot of the questions that followed
01:10him out of the University of Tennessee into the NFL as a late-round draft pick remain
01:15for most people.
01:16So I think when you sit down and process it, while a lot of fans here are disappointed,
01:22I still think the Patriots accomplished what they needed to.
01:26They got another pick.
01:27They were able to move up a bit, I think 46 slots in the end.
01:31And they developed him to a point where he became an asset.
01:36And I think they traded him when his value for them was at its highest.
