Mine, craft and battle to rescue villagers at London's immersive 'Minecraft' experience

'Minecraft' fans on April 3, 2025 mined, crafted and battled their way through a new real-life immersive experience of the video game in London, to save villagers from a zombie attack. Located at Corner Corner, Canada Water, 'Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue' for all age groups is based on the 2011 Swedish sandbox game that allows participants to get creative from farmed resources and set their own goals in a colorful three-dimensional world. Within seven immersive rooms or interactive biomes, players use their wit and an 'orb of interaction', an illuminated interactive, block-shaped handheld device which guides the user from room to room, to chop down trees, collect resources like precious gems, craft life-saving potions, or fight off spiders, creepers, skeletons or mobs before the allotted time of six minutes per room runs out. The aim of the best-selling video game, with over 300 million copies sold worldwide, is collecting block-shaped objects like dirt, stone, ores, tree trunks, water and lava and placing them in a 3D grid to create whole new environments, as well as having the ability to break, or mine, the blocks to rebuild elsewhere and craft items like armor, weapons and tools to keep the player safe.

00:00First we're stepping in the game.
00:25This is an authentic stepping in the game.
00:28You'll feel like you're in it.
00:30We worked so hard on making it authentic.
00:32The second thing is we're going to go save the villagers.
00:36They sadly were attacked by a zombie siege and they're all zombie villagers so we need
00:40to save them.
00:41I thought it was great.
01:09It lets you experience Minecraft in real life.
01:25The goal is to build a potion and find golden apples so there's seven resources that will
01:30be required to save the villagers.
01:32We're going to go through eight rooms.
01:33Each room has their own quest, their own target.
01:37Everybody will have to engage and work together.
01:56The only thing that's different is the way they're going to interact with the game.
01:59The rest is exactly as it is.
02:01There's a lot of Easter eggs in this experience and the Minecrafters will know.
02:07You'll know exactly what to do.
03:37Then it will create a trap over there in blue and red.
04:32The Minecrafters will love it.
04:48It's a once in a lifetime chance to step in the games that they love.
04:52For parents it's an amazing experience that for once their kids are teaching them something
04:56and it's not the opposite.
04:58It's a very good relationship builder with the kids.
05:28Come on.
05:29Come on.
05:30Come on.
05:31Come on.
06:02I think it's the best thing ever.
06:12Yeah, I really do.
06:13It's really fun, the best thing I've ever done in my life, the best gaming experience
06:18as well.
06:19It was amazing.
06:26It was really good.
06:27Really, really good.
06:28I think it's like a total workout.
06:29did not expect that. Lots of fun, you know, even for the grown-ups like myself, as you can see,
06:34I'm all sweaty. I know, it was very fun, very, very fun. Yeah, very immersive.
