00:00Again, the Energy Department confirmed that the current supply of electricity is sufficient.

00:04This increased the number of power plants that are undergoing repair and maintenance

00:08that were not allowed a week before the election.

00:11Mark Salazar was the one who pointed it out.

00:17Even though the consumption of people is increasing by 20% in the current heat,

00:22the Department of Energy confirmed that the current supply of electricity is sufficient.

00:26It can still give power grids the demand.

00:29But the DOE said that there are still unexpected power grids that need to be prepared.

00:35They told the power plants to undergo repair or maintenance work

00:40right now before the peak demand this summer.

00:43Just this weekend, two large natural gas power plants in Luzon shut down to undergo repair.

00:49It did not affect the supply.

00:52At the moment, our plant is giving only 1,300 megawatts of natural gas.

00:59In May and May 15, we expect that it will increase to 2,500 megawatts

01:07that our gas can supply so that our plant can run completely.

01:14The DOE also ordered the plants to provide full capacity of their power generation

01:20so that the yellow and red alerts on the power supply will not be repeated for a year.

01:29to determine the demand of electricity in areas that depend on the heat index and where there is a high consumption of electricity.

01:56The DOE is also conducting a simulation along with the Comelec to prepare for the election in May.

02:02No preventive or repair and maintenance program will be conducted at least one week before and one week after the election.

02:11All of our power plants should be ready to provide to the full capacity of their plants.
