A teen fought back tears of happiness when she was given a surprise reunion with her soldier mom who had spent the previous 10 months deployed in the Middle East. Angel Fox, a staff sergeant with the United States Army, from Sandford, North Carolina, shares a tight bond with her daughter Amiyah, 14, so their near year apart was extremely tough on both. Mom Angel, 37, said she looked forward to her FaceTime calls with her daughter, but while being surrounded by "rocks and dirt" she really felt Amiyah was missing her presence. And so, when she was given news she could return to the U.S. after 10 months overseas, she decided to plan a surprise for her daughter. On January 31, Amiyah's school principal called her to be signed out, only for her to walk into the room and see a familiar face. As soon as she saw her mom, Amiyah ran into her arms and fought back tears of happiness on her shoulder.
