00:00:00One, two, three, go.
00:02:00We're going to be supporting them.
00:02:02Yay!
00:02:04And speaking of hosta, do you know Jasper?
00:02:06He's one of my mentors.
00:02:08Oh, he's a mentor.
00:02:10Of course, Donjo.
00:02:13But for the PEPsters who don't know who Jasper is,
00:02:17Jasper, please introduce yourself to our PEPsters.
00:02:20Hi, hello to all of you PEPsters.
00:02:23I hope we all have a good afternoon.
00:02:26I am Jasper Tiongzon.
00:02:28As they mentioned, I'm a host,
00:02:31I sing, I write songs,
00:02:34creating content as well,
00:02:36modeling a little bit,
00:02:38and of course, I am just like you,
00:02:40a pursuer of dreams.
00:02:42These are our dreams.
00:02:44We just need to say hello to the universe.
00:02:46Let's just say what we want to happen.
00:02:49And at the right time,
00:02:51it will come for all of us.
00:02:53And this is the time that God has already given me right now.
00:02:56So I'm just making sure that we manifest what we should manifest
00:03:01and if it's really for us,
00:03:03this is it.
00:03:04It's for us.
00:03:05He will give it to us.
00:03:06Yes.
00:03:07But before you became a singer-songwriter,
00:03:09Jasper is in the corporate world.
00:03:11Yes.
00:03:12So how did you...
00:03:14Why did you leave the corporate world?
00:03:16It was fast.
00:03:18It was fast.
00:03:19It's like a different show.
00:03:21You're surprising me.
00:03:25I think it's been a long time coming for me.
00:03:27I mean, when I was younger,
00:03:29I really liked to perform in school.
00:03:33When I grew up,
00:03:35our faces were really thick.
00:03:39It was good for academics.
00:03:42It was also good for extracurricular activities.
00:03:45Hello to the VIVO kids.
00:03:47Press 1.
00:03:49Press 1.
00:03:50Even our cameraman is great.
00:03:53VIVO kid too.
00:03:54How are you?
00:03:55And VIVAs, how are you?
00:03:57I hope you're doing well.
00:03:59So that's how we are.
00:04:00Somehow, we're exposed.
00:04:01We're used to talking to people.
00:04:03So I think I've developed that kind of love and passion already for hosting,
00:04:08for the craft.
00:04:09But, of course, along the way,
00:04:11sometimes I think there's a redirection that happens to us.
00:04:15We have to experience some things in our life
00:04:18that will lead us, I think,
00:04:19into a better appreciation of what will be given to us later on.
00:04:23So after I finished my studies in college,
00:04:28we were together for a while.
00:04:32We had an artistic era for a while.
00:04:36My parents only gave me one year
00:04:39because they said,
00:04:40you wasted it.
00:04:42So there was a time before I graduated from college,
00:04:46we joined a Patimpalak.
00:04:48Patimpalak?
00:04:49It's Tagalog.
00:04:50Yes.
00:04:51But I realized that when I was about to sign a contract,
00:04:57I don't want to graduate with the next batch.
00:04:59I want to graduate with my batch.
00:05:01And I was running for honors also.
00:05:03So I said,
00:05:04it's a waste.
00:05:05I mean, I've never, of course,
00:05:06experienced losing in class.
00:05:09And maybe for those of you,
00:05:11do we have pepsters like that?
00:05:12That you don't want to miss out?
00:05:14Maybe a lot of you don't.
00:05:16But for those of you who feel like you're missing out
00:05:20whenever you are absent from your classes,
00:05:23that's how I am.
00:05:24So I managed to stay on school.
00:05:27I decided to do so.
00:05:29And I said,
00:05:30I'll just go back to singing and performing
00:05:33after I graduate.
00:05:34So it was right.
00:05:35I graduated,
00:05:36got the honors,
00:05:37and then I joined the same contest again.
00:05:40Then I got in,
00:05:42and then suddenly the show got dissolved.
00:05:44They're making way for a brand new show
00:05:46with the concept of PBB,
00:05:49which exists now, right?
00:05:50It's about singing,
00:05:51the Pinoy Dream Academy.
00:05:53So I joined again.
00:05:54I was in the top 30 in NCR.
00:05:56So for a couple of weeks,
00:05:57I was on TV.
00:05:59But it didn't work out
00:06:00because maybe life is not that dramatic.
00:06:03And I was able to join the inside of the house,
00:06:07the academy,
00:06:08the Pinoy Dream Academy.
00:06:09But after that,
00:06:10my parents said,
00:06:11where did you finish?
00:06:12Continue working in the corporate world.
00:06:16So I had a job in media for Starcom,
00:06:18which was a media agency.
00:06:20After that,
00:06:21there was an opportunity.
00:06:22Disney Philippines opened up in the Philippines
00:06:24with ABS-CBN.
00:06:25So for a good decade and a year,
00:06:29I was there.
00:06:30And then Disney Plus rolled out.
00:06:32There was no advertising.
00:06:33I moved here.
00:06:34Would you believe it?
00:06:35Here in Pepsister.
00:06:36This was my office before,
00:06:37Summit Media.
00:06:38For six months,
00:06:39I was doing the same thing,
00:06:40advertising sales.
00:06:41And then after that,
00:06:42was the realization for me.
00:06:45Hey!
00:06:46Maybe all of us,
00:06:47we've been through the pandemic, right?
00:06:48It's like it shook our worlds.
00:06:51Are we doing what we love doing?
00:06:53Will we die tomorrow?
00:06:54Are we happy?
00:06:55So that's it.
00:06:56That realization dawned on me.
00:06:58It dawned, Joe.
00:06:59That realization dawned on me.
00:07:01And then I asked myself,
00:07:03I asked for a sign from the universe.
00:07:06Lord!
00:07:07Universe!
00:07:09Should I full-time my passion?
00:07:11Because that was the time when it opened up.
00:07:14So for a good year,
00:07:16that time,
00:07:17I was also hosting my own show
00:07:19right here on Summit.
00:07:20This is Lit.
00:07:21This is the necklace.
00:07:22Lit.
00:07:23There.
00:07:24This came from my show for a good year.
00:07:26And then after that,
00:07:27should I full-time this?
00:07:29Should I full-blast this?
00:07:30Of course, when you're in a corporate setting,
00:07:31you have deliverables on a daily basis.
00:07:35So your passion,
00:07:36you can't really full-blast it.
00:07:38You can't really embrace all the opportunities.
00:07:41So that time,
00:07:42I was hosting in a show in Mega Mall.
00:07:45And then,
00:07:47the ambassador of that brand,
00:07:49Pia Wurtzbach,
00:07:50Miss Universe.
00:07:51Wow!
00:07:52Congratulations!
00:07:53That's how it was.
00:07:54I didn't mean to,
00:07:55but we attracted her.
00:07:56She went up on stage and said,
00:07:58how about a big hand for him?
00:07:59He's doing a fantastic job.
00:08:01So you know,
00:08:02for me,
00:08:03it could be one of those things
00:08:05of celebrities,
00:08:06where you're being praised.
00:08:07Which I already experienced in many events that I've hosted.
00:08:10But that was different.
00:08:12I realized,
00:08:13because when I got home,
00:08:14I received a follow from Instagram,
00:08:16from Pia Wurtzbach on Instagram,
00:08:18that is.
00:08:19And then a message,
00:08:20that, hey,
00:08:21you did fantastic.
00:08:22Let me send you over to Miss Universe.
00:08:25And everything else is history.
00:08:27I had the courage
00:08:28to step out of my comfort zone.
00:08:30That was my corporate job.
00:08:31Because we all know what a corporate job is, right?
00:08:34You know,
00:08:35even though I worked a lot,
00:08:37there's security.
00:08:38You're on a monthly basis.
00:08:40For some,
00:08:41there's a sales commission.
00:08:42So it's okay.
00:08:43I was enjoying my life there.
00:08:45But,
00:08:46is it already the life
00:08:47that I want to create for myself
00:08:49as my legacy?
00:08:50And am I happy already
00:08:52in this kind of lifestyle?
00:08:54So that's what made me laugh.
00:08:56Plus,
00:08:57the great sign,
00:08:58glaring sign,
00:08:59Miss Universe literally sent us,
00:09:00Miss Universe,
00:09:01this is your sign.
00:09:02Do it.
00:09:03Do it already.
00:09:04Make it happen.
00:09:05That's great.
00:09:06Because it's like a manifestation.
00:09:07Yes.
00:09:08It really manifests.
00:09:09Right.
00:09:10Plus,
00:09:11when I saw Quintas,
00:09:12I thought,
00:09:13we also have Pep.
00:09:14What if, right?
00:09:15We have Quintas and Pep.
00:09:16Because that's your show,
00:09:17right?
00:09:18This is lit.
00:09:19So,
00:09:20I gave some of the people
00:09:21from the crew
00:09:22and some of the guests
00:09:23the same.
00:09:24So,
00:09:25a bracelet or something like that.
00:09:26We're going to make Pep.
00:09:27We're going to make it.
00:09:28We're going to make it if there's a bag.
00:09:29Yes.
00:09:30Nico,
00:09:31that's why.
00:09:32You know,
00:09:33Jasper mentioned earlier
00:09:34that
00:09:35to manifest,
00:09:36you really need to
00:09:37say hello to the universe.
00:09:38Let's try this, Tin,
00:09:39so that we can manifest.
00:09:401,
00:09:412,
00:09:423,
00:09:43go.
00:09:44Hello, universe.
00:09:45This is it, Tin.
00:09:46This is it.
00:09:47Jasper mentioned earlier
00:09:48about the redirection
00:09:49that happened, right?
00:09:50So,
00:09:51we would like to know
00:09:52how did it happen
00:09:53or what was the turning point?
00:09:54Why did we do it?
00:09:55So,
00:09:56from content,
00:09:57from creating content,
00:09:58then modeling,
00:09:59of course,
00:10:00hosting,
00:10:01how did we end up
00:10:02in the field of music?
00:10:03How did it happen?
00:10:04Oh,
00:10:05look at the pictures.
00:10:06Comment below.
00:10:07Actually,
00:10:08singing has always been
00:10:09a hobby,
00:10:10I suppose.
00:10:11The family also
00:10:12is a singing family.
00:10:13My mom used to be a part
00:10:14of the choir before.
00:10:15When she was in high school,
00:10:16I saw a photo
00:10:17of her singing.
00:10:18Then,
00:10:19Isa Alvarez,
00:10:20who's also a Maitita,
00:10:21she's the one
00:10:22who plays the guitar.
00:10:23So,
00:10:24they were a duo.
00:10:25But then,
00:10:26life changed.
00:10:27So,
00:10:28we decided to
00:10:29separate the plan
00:10:30from her plan.
00:10:31Although,
00:10:32probably,
00:10:33she also assured
00:10:34that to the universe.
00:10:35But again,
00:10:36the universe
00:10:37is a separate plan
00:10:38for you,
00:10:39specifically for you.
00:10:40So,
00:10:41singing is really
00:10:42in the family.
00:10:43So,
00:10:44for me,
00:10:45when I was
00:10:46in high school,
00:10:47elementary,
00:10:48we were also
00:10:49in the choir.
00:10:50But then,
00:10:51I never really
00:10:52perceived it
00:10:53as a career
00:10:54for me.
00:10:55Especially,
00:10:56maybe,
00:10:57our Pepsi
00:10:58was a career
00:10:59for us.
00:11:00So,
00:11:01family,
00:11:02middle class,
00:11:03or those
00:11:04who are not
00:11:05rich,
00:11:06those families
00:11:07who are just
00:11:08saving their lives.
00:11:09It's like,
00:11:10is this really
00:11:11a career?
00:11:12What's still
00:11:13in our mindset
00:11:14is,
00:11:15of course,
00:11:16this is going
00:11:17to be sheer luck.
00:11:18There's only a few
00:11:19who can enter
00:11:20the industry
00:11:21and get a job.
00:11:22Usually,
00:11:23you'll go to the office,
00:11:24have a corporate job,
00:11:25or probably,
00:11:26practice a degree,
00:11:27or a doctor,
00:11:28or something like that.
00:11:29So,
00:11:30that's the
00:11:31misconception,
00:11:32I suppose.
00:11:33So,
00:11:34for me,
00:11:35there are a lot
00:11:36of possibilities
00:11:37that you can do.
00:11:38So,
00:11:39hosting,
00:11:40for me,
00:11:41has been a
00:11:42sideline.
00:11:43It started out
00:11:44in high school,
00:11:45also.
00:11:46In school,
00:11:47in trunks.
00:11:48We needed
00:11:49a host.
00:11:50Then,
00:11:51I was the
00:11:52student council
00:11:53president back then.
00:11:54So,
00:11:55I hosted.
00:11:56So,
00:11:57they liked the
00:11:58energy.
00:11:59I liked the
00:12:00energy.
00:12:01So,
00:12:02I said,
00:12:03this is okay.
00:12:04So,
00:12:05I took up
00:12:06broadcast
00:12:07communication.
00:12:08So,
00:12:09singing was
00:12:10there at
00:12:11the back
00:12:12burner.
00:12:13It was just
00:12:14choir.
00:12:15But,
00:12:16I didn't
00:12:17really think
00:12:18it would be
00:12:19a career.
00:12:20So,
00:12:21until later on,
00:12:22I joined
00:12:23a singing
00:12:24competition.
00:12:25So,
00:12:26that was
00:12:27my career.
00:12:28My performance,
00:12:29my love for
00:12:30singing,
00:12:31hosting,
00:12:32songwriting,
00:12:33modeling,
00:12:34artistry of it
00:12:35all.
00:12:36That is the
00:12:37time when you
00:12:38get to
00:12:39unleash the
00:12:40best version
00:12:41of yourself.
00:12:42When you
00:12:43have the
00:12:44100%
00:12:45attention to
00:12:46what you
00:12:47love doing,
00:12:48when you're
00:12:49so passionate
00:12:50and fueled
00:12:51to do
00:12:52something
00:12:53that you
00:12:54love.
00:12:55That's
00:12:56what I
00:12:57love doing.
00:12:58It feels
00:12:59like second
00:13:00nature to me
00:13:01to be on
00:13:02stage and
00:13:03to perform.
00:13:04And I
00:13:05love it.
00:13:06So,
00:13:07how you
00:13:08are enthusiastic
00:13:09in your
00:13:10craft.
00:13:11And I
00:13:12think the
00:13:13rest follows.
00:13:14So,
00:13:15this song,
00:13:16hello
00:13:17universe,
00:13:18the story.
00:13:19Of
00:13:20possibilities.
00:13:21And there's
00:13:22a lot.
00:13:23You
