The Amigos Amels 180, with a price tag of over $37 million, exemplifies the Dutch family shipbuilder's reputation for quality and innovation in yacht construction. This 180-foot semi-custom superyacht offers a unique configuration with two master staterooms, a departure from the standard layout. The main salon features beautiful woodwork and is designed to maximize space and natural light, featuring sliding doors and opening balconies to create an airy ambiance.

The Amigos doesn't compromise on outdoor amenities, boasting a generous sun deck, around 28 meters in length, with a massive jacuzzi and a helipad. A large swim platform facilitates water sports, and a beach club with a steam room and shower provides a space for post-activity relaxation. The Amigos is engineered for both luxury and long-range cruising.

This Amels 180 is a semi-custom yacht, meaning hull shape and superstructure remain standard, but the layout, fabrics, fixtures and more can all be customized. This allows construction to begin on speculation, before a buyer enters the picture, so a future owner can get their customized yacht much quicker.

00:00Hi, I'm Bill Springer, senior contributor at Forbes.
00:02I'm here at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show
00:05aboard Amigos.
00:06It's an Amos 180, and I'm so excited to show it to you
00:10because it has two master staterooms that
00:13are absolutely off the charts.
00:16All right, so here we are.
00:17We're in the main salon.
00:18Tell us a little bit about this.
00:20Yeah, main salon, right in front of you, the formal dining.
00:23Beautiful woodwork throughout the yacht.
00:26Amos is just known for building boats that work.
00:28You know what you're getting.
00:29It's a known product.
00:31It's well-built.
00:32It takes so many boxes for so many people.
00:33Specifically here in the main salon, what is interesting,
00:36you've got both sliding doors slide open.
00:39And on both sides, you can open the bulwarks, or balconies.
00:42So you can create a natural airflow here, should you wish.
00:46The original owner was building the boat.
00:47He literally ticked off every box in the optional list
00:50because these are all extras.
00:52These are not in the standard spec.
00:54Even though she is part of a semi-custom series,
00:56he customized a lot.
00:57Tell us about what a semi-custom series means.
01:00So it's basically an existing platform
01:02that you can not change certain things.
01:05For example, the hull shape and the shape
01:06of the superstructure are the way they are.
01:08But you can change bulkheads.
01:09You can change fabrics.
01:11You can change options.
01:12You can add TVs.
01:14You can change all those kind of things.
01:16And the semi-custom platform allows a owner
01:19to get the yacht much quicker, is that right?
01:21Yeah, because Amos, their business model
01:23is starting the boat on speculation, to their own risk.
01:26They start the build and they are normally
01:28always finding a buyer during the building process.
01:31We're here on the lower deck.
01:32Four cabins here, two doubles and two twin singles.
01:35So in total, she does sleep 12 plus one guests
01:39in six cabins.
01:40They're all R and suite as well.
01:42You've got beautiful bathrooms as well throughout.
01:45So this is on the Amos series, the 180 series.
01:48This is like a flexible area.
01:50You can turn this into a massage room.
01:52You can make an extra cabin.
01:53You can make an office.
01:55This is basically a gym, which has got and suite facilities.
01:58And it's also got a bunk bed, which is folded out.
02:02So it could be used as a nanny cabin as well.
02:05And the second owner's cabin starts here.
02:07A little office space here.
02:10And here on your right side,
02:11you have the folding down balcony.
02:13Nice big bathroom.
02:15Then the walk-in wardrobe.
02:17So here we are actually in the master stateroom,
02:19which is a full beam private area.
02:22This is the only Amos 180 with this layout.
02:25So that makes it truly special.
02:26You know, obviously it was a very big change order
02:28during our build,
02:29because this is normally where your Skylounge is.
02:31Something which makes this boat very special
02:33is that you've got extended decks.
02:35So you've got plenty of space.
02:36You can either use it as a private deck
02:38or you can just use it as a common space
02:40for the rest of the boat and the rest of the guests.
02:43So moving up, we go into the sun deck,
02:45which you will see is best in class.
02:48It's around 28 meters in length.
02:50And then we've got this massive jacuzzi.
02:53And on top of that, we've got a helipad up to 2000 kilos.
02:58Great big swim platform for water sports.
03:00We're basically here in the beach club,
03:01where you've got a steam room over there
03:04and a day head and a separate shower.
03:05Extremely flexible, usable, capable world cruising vessel.
03:11After touring the Amos 180 Amigos
03:13here at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show,
03:15all I can say is the next person who gets to charter
03:18or own this boat is gonna be in for a treat.
