00:00This is good news teammates because the 31st season of the National Capital and Regional Athletic Association or NCRAA is about to start.

00:09The opening ceremony will be held on Wednesday in Cuneta Asaludom and it will be broadcasted on the PTV Sports Network.

00:18This is teammate Daryl Oclares reporting.

00:21To join the force of your country TV, it will be a new home of the National Capital and Regional Athletic Association or NCRAA of PTV Sports Network.

00:35On Thursday, the 31st season of the NCRAA is about to start. The opening ceremony will be held in Cuneta Asaludom.

00:4410 students will participate in the Collegiate Multisports Tournament held by the University of Luzon,

00:51Asian Institute of Maritime Studies, Pats College of Aeronautics, Olivares College, Emilio Aguinaldo College, Lyceum University of the Philippines Laguna,

01:02Philippine Merchant Marine School, Immaculada Conception College, Best Link College of the Philippines, and De La Salle University Dasmariñas.

01:11In an exclusive interview with PTV Sports with NCRAA General Manager Buddy Encarnado,

01:17he said that PTV will be a great help for more people to watch the performance of the athletes from different backgrounds

01:26when it comes to basketball, volleyball, swimming, chess, table tennis, and badminton.

01:34Well, I have to be honest, I'm very excited. Right now, I would say that with the entry of PTV4, we are blessed.

01:45Knowing fully well that PTV has the greatest number of coverage or area of coverage in the whole Philippines as far as Mindanao.

01:56And therefore, this will be a good thing in motivating and enhancing the youth to be involved in sports.

02:05Encarnado also said that from being an NCR base, they changed the name of the league to include universities outside of Metro Manila.

02:16Just like in any other league, you have to be a living league, meaning to say you have to evolve with the times.

02:23From National Capital Region Athletic Association, we are now known as the National Capital and Regional Athletic Association.

02:34Why? Because to be true to our name, we have teams from Laguna, LPU.

02:42We have teams from Cavite, we have Las Aldas Marinas, we have AYAC, and we have teams from Paranaque,

02:52and as far as Northern Luzon, which is Dagupan, University of Luzon.

02:58Encarnado also added that the goal of NCRAA is to attract and employ talented Filipino players.

03:08It is the vision and mission of NCRAA to provide them with an outlet.

03:13We will give them the kind of exposure that will propel them to their heart's content in the pursuit of their dreams.

03:22Encarnado also invited all sports fans to watch and support the opening ceremony of the 31st season of NCRAA.

03:32To all the collegiate fans, please do join us for our opening day, April 3, 9am at the Cuneta Astrodome.
