00:19around 1.59 p.m. and resulted in Marutin's death.
00:23Investigations revealed that a Toyota Fortuner, in which Marutin was travelling, was struck
00:29by a Proton X70 while heading from Kanowit town to Cebu.
00:34The impact caused the Toyota Fortuner, driven by a 28-year-old woman, to overturn.
00:40Marutin was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
00:44The 42-year-old Proton X70 driver, along with the Toyota Fortuner driver and four other
00:50passengers, sustained minor injuries and were taken to Kanowit Hospital for treatment.
00:56The case is being investigated under Section 41, Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act,
01:021987.
01:03Meanwhile, Marutin's sister, Maria Pagan, shared on Facebook that he was travelling
01:09from Machan in Kanowit to Cebu at the time of the accident.
01:13Before his appointment as Sabah State Courts Director, Marutin had served as a Sessions
01:18Court Judge in Bintulu, Cebu and Kuching.
