00:1690s and the 2016s and the 20s but yeah look here the doom slayer is back he's
00:27back to slay we got to play got to go to Zenimax Bethesda and Sydney Australia
00:34and get some hands-on time with this we're playing on a 5080 in 4k it looked
00:39sick it ran well I mean doom and doom eternal ran really well as well this is
00:45on the id tech 7 engine I think the newest id tech engine id tech 6 was like
00:51Indiana Jones in the last crusade but anyway we're jumping straight in with the
00:54gameplay it is doom so there's a lot of shooting and there's more story this
01:00time is what they say but look we're here to talk about this level in
01:04particular which is the siege level obviously a siege is happening and you
01:10gotta stop the siege or you have to do this siege I don't know you shoot you
01:17shoot monsters it's doom but yeah you get is this shield which looks pretty
01:24cool so it's doom the dark ages is doom with a medieval twist so like war
01:29machines and demons and a new medieval style arsenal you can see that flail
01:33there chain looking melee weapon that looks pretty cool there's some kind of
01:40timed combos you can do the defeat for the big baddies and obviously for this
01:46siege right now I have to destroy that portal right there that's a gold portal
01:49destroy five of those
01:57same as a previous dooms and kind of health pickups shield pickups yes you
02:04have to find colored keys to open doors just like the doom of 30 and 40 years
02:12past I'll just let the gameplay play out and chime in when I have anything
02:21else to say about you can see the battles are pretty hectic I did this on
02:26kind of average difficulty there was like maybe four or five difficulty
02:30settings so I was on difficulties setting three because I want to I
02:34whatever the average doom experience recommended was what I chose
02:39desperately going for those blue health orbs as I try and smash this dude to
02:46pieces
02:49yeah I'm just kind of going OTT with the flail which actually did
03:10work okay this little temple area is a upgrade tree zone which becomes
03:25available after battles or maybe you could do it during battles to be pretty
03:27hectic I'm kind of like the anti doom doom player like I like to take my time
03:33with with all games feel like to immerse myself in the in the in the games and
03:38the stories and this does have more story as I said but um but doom is all
03:42about kind of like running and gunning and getting it up in everyone's face
03:51yes you can choose dual upgrade tiers you can swap in and out of these upgrades
03:56upgrade tiers anytimes you can if you get one you go one pathway on an upgrade
04:01you can just swap to the other pathway pretty fast but yeah looks pretty sick
04:08there's a it's a lot bigger a lot bigger than previous dooms in terms of
04:12like open world-ness there's a large amount of scalability I'm just talking
04:20like even climbing up things and secrets I love secrets there's a lot of secrets
04:25in the world here's me looking just to see if I missed anything and just
04:31checking out the map the map is a good 3d map some maps can be confusing as
04:36hell especially if they're 3d maps but this is a pretty that's a blood texture
04:42that I just saw that shouldn't be there some maps are pretty confusing but this
04:48one was really pretty clear
05:06I wherever you have to go I'll go the opposite way like if the little pointer
05:16is saying go left which it is right now I'm gonna go right I want to see the
05:22extra stuff I want to see the secrets oh yes I'm shooting him with a like a nail
05:28gun that fills his body with explosive nails which I then throw the shield at
05:34to explode all at once quite good
05:39it's a little village here I really like the shield here's me just realizing the
05:47destructive physics of it all and enjoying that one poor little guy
05:55hey buddy yeah I can see myself losing a lot of time just finding that little key
06:03there finding stuff is me swapping out some stuff something out some weapons
06:07some weapon alts all your weapons pretty much have alts most
06:33I see some giant monsters kind of wanting to check that out that looks
06:41sick and there's some some more baddies to slay slay slayer
07:34who cares about critical health he's at critical health that's my thinking and
07:48he's me just taking in the taking in the glory of that is some gold get that for
07:54upgrades yes please no take all that just kind of taking it in looking at
08:03some slain
08:24I'm loving this uh this nail gun probably too much I would say I should
08:42just there's a more of a CC yeah this this kind of um flak cannon is more of a
08:48good CC weapon
09:24over hitting the shield and then knocking that shield out with your
09:38shield shield on shield violence something we can all appreciate in this
09:43day and age and by day and age I mean the medieval day and ages the dark ages
10:54wrapping up now but the doomslayer is back looks looks good obviously check it
