00:00The streets of Canberra are live with the sound of music.
00:10Buskers taking prime position on one of the city's most popular streets for the Braddon
00:14Busking Festival.
00:15I really like performing, I love music, I love, I don't know, just showing other people
00:23my music, seeing them make their day a little bit better maybe.
00:28While musicians were the main feature, buskers of a different kind were also able to show
00:37off their talents.
00:38This is a stage, you know, it's a really open stage and when you perform in settings like
00:45this, you've got to try and stop people in the street and stop them in their tracks essentially.
00:52They're not only competing for cash and other prizes, but for eligibility to compete at
00:57the National Busking Championships in Cooma later this year.
01:04There's not a whole heap of opportunities for performing, especially since COVID, a
01:08lot of venues are sort of closed down, so busking is a, you know, you can get out and
01:13you can play at any kind of time.
01:14It's a great way for really talented musicians to get some exposure and earn some money and
01:21hopefully get gigs in bigger places if they want.
01:25A promising note to hit.
