00:00Let's reflect on an incredible day for Newcastle United, for the city, for everyone involved.
00:06I mean, Town Moor, 150,000 people here yesterday. It was far too busy, far too noisy to do a video
00:13yesterday reflecting on it, but I thought such an occasion I'll come back and just reflect on
00:19that incredible, incredible day. Looking back, I think if March 16th at Wembley was Newcastle
00:25United's day, March 29th was Newcastle upon Tyne's day. It was the city, it was everyone
00:31coming together, united, pardon the pun, just an incredible day. It was 150,000 people here,
00:38I've estimated further 150,000 people lining the streets. I mean, you couldn't say it was a sea of
00:43black and white, it was an ocean of black and white. It was absolutely incredible and so glad
00:48the club and the council and everyone who worked so hard on this managed to get it on in such a
00:53short amount of time really and got the bus parade on it as well. That took a little bit more
00:57work behind the scenes to finally get off the ground and so glad it happened where you see
01:02the Sandman signature with Eddie Howe and everyone just gathered around. Incredible,
01:08the bus parade, the players seemed to love it, spoke to a couple of them in the mix zone behind
01:13the stage. Everyone was just buzzing, you see Ant McPartland coming off saying,
01:17I'm playing one of the greatest gigs of my life.
01:19Likes of Bruno.
01:26Geordie Carnival, if you like, and then Alexander Isak doing his Geordie impression,
01:30very good Geordie impression as well.
01:33Are you walking?
01:34I spoke to Jacob Murphy, who's obviously been a Newcastle fan all his life and he said he
01:38never knew the sort of scale of Newcastle until yesterday and I think a lot of people
01:45would have been the same way. You would have had ideas of what Newcastle would be like
01:50when they finally won something and yesterday we got to find that out. I'd always go back to
01:57big games like PSG, great atmospheres, some of the best games of recent years at St James' Park and
02:04sort of lingering feeling after the games, as good as they were, would always be like,
02:08God imagine what this place would be like if we actually won something and on Saturday,
02:13March 29th 2025, we finally got to find that out and it absolutely did not disappoint.
