00:00We have to focus on intensity if we want to build muscle, and we have to focus on taking
00:04our muscles very near their upper limit.
00:07So we want to focus on an idea instead called reps in reserve.
00:11So for every single one of your working sets in your workout, what I want you to think
00:16about doing is coming within two reps of failure.
00:19So that means that the final rep that you do is going to be slower than the earlier
00:24reps that you did, and it's going to be hard and challenging, and you might have a little
00:28bit of doubt whether you can actually complete the rep with good form.
00:31Your form might actually start to break just a little bit.
00:34That's where you should be taking your working sets, so focus on that.
00:38Even if that winds up being after four to five to six reps, even if that winds up happening
00:42and you don't feel the pump, as long as you're focused on that, you're going to be a lot
00:45closer to building muscle.
