00:00The government plans to add more infrastructure and flights to Batanes

00:05as tourism is slowly rising.

00:15The strong typhoon hit Batanes last year.

00:20Batanes is used to the typhoon.

00:24The typhoon didn't just leave Pinsal.

00:27Aside from the damaged infrastructure and life,

00:30the tourism sector was also hit,

00:32which is one of the main livelihoods here.

00:34Almost 30% were lost.

00:38But there's also fear.

00:40But good thing, Batanes is Batanes.

00:42We are very much resilient.

00:44But the tourism boom is slowly coming back,

00:48especially now that the heat has started.

00:51I would say 80-90% are ready to accept tourists.

00:58And then, our basic water necessities have been returned.

01:02So, everybody is welcome to visit Batanes.

01:05Until May, Batanes is the best time to visit.

01:09Views like the iconic Basco Lighthouse,

01:13Rolling Hills, and Morong Beach are already waiting.

01:16Wherever you look, it's like you're in a postcard.

01:20It's beautiful, but there's nothing to see

01:22because the province of Batanes is already overcrowded.

01:25But in order to attract more tourists,

01:28they need to improve the services and infrastructure.

01:33What Batanes really needs now

01:36is more players in the airline industry.

01:39Because more visitors need to come to Batanes.

01:45Batanes is already beautiful,

01:47but it still needs to be improved in terms of infrastructure and services.

01:51There was a groundbreaking of a tourist rest area or TRA in Sabtang.

01:56This is where the facility of the Central Tourism Information Office will be built

02:00where tourists can rest, use Wi-Fi, and buy souvenirs.

02:05We put the tourist rest area in our port

02:09so that the moment that they come down from their vessels

02:14or as they depart the island,

02:17we will have restrooms for them.

02:21The government also plans to add infrastructures

02:24and improve the aviation industry so that more flights can be added.
