00:00If you say they are poor, of those who are poor, they will get reservation, that is welcome.
01:00If it is economic consideration, then nobody can object, but if it is for a particular
01:29upper caste, then in my opinion I would object to it saying that Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas,
01:39Muslims, Christians, they are not entitled to reservation because they were ruling class.
01:47Reservation was meant for those who were oppressed by the ruling class and the schedule caste
01:52were oppressed. Scheduled tribes suffered also a lot of oppression. There was also provision
02:00for backward classes. Now on that basis they have given reservation, that was a much later
02:09development. But as far as Brahmins are concerned, schedule caste are concerned and Vaishyas
02:17are concerned, they are in my opinion having been ruling classes, they are not entitled
02:25to reservation as a caste. But if you say they are poor, of those who are poor, they
02:35will get reservation, that is welcome.
