00:00It's Deal or No Deal time, and here's your host, Grant Denya.
00:17Let's go!
00:19Welcome to Deal or No Deal, everybody.
00:21Who wants to come up here down with me and play for $100,000?
00:27I love this bit.
00:29Alright, it's Sarah Whelan. Where are you?
00:38Hi, how are you?
00:39Come on in.
00:40I've been gutted by you.
00:41I'm going to have a nice warm reception.
00:44You want to feel like you're in a safe place where you can just be yourself and have a great time.
00:48I feel like I'm in the right place then.
00:50You look good up here.
00:51We ready to win some money?
00:52Absolutely!
00:53Look over there, 22 glorious spaces, everything from 50 cents to $100,000.
00:57Let's find a big one.
00:58Well, you said big, but I'm going to go small.
01:00Number one!
01:01Wow, that's so rare.
01:03Yeah.
01:04There's the story.
01:05Armani's got it.
01:06What's the story?
01:07We are the current world champions for Irish dancing, so we're number one in the world.
01:12Are you kidding me?
01:13So let's get number one.
01:14Let's get some money, being the number one champions of the world in Irish dancing.
01:17Let's do it.
01:18It's deal time.
01:19Yay!
01:20Will the case number one contain $100,000?
01:24To find out, let's play deal or no deal.
01:32Number one.
01:33Number one in the world, baby.
01:35Are you ready to play deal or no deal?
01:36I am so ready.
01:37Let's win big.
01:38It's time to play deal or no deal.
01:40Let's make it a party.
01:44You're wearing green.
01:45We got five greens up there.
01:47Hopefully one of them's in there.
01:49This could be good.
01:50Six cases.
01:51Okay.
01:52Where would you like to start?
01:53I will start with number 17, please.
01:55Hey, Kelly.
01:56How are you?
01:57I'm good, thank you.
01:58First up.
01:59I've been dreaming about $1,700,000.
02:01Are you ready?
02:02Let's have a look.
02:03No, let's go.
02:06It's the complete opposite.
02:08Just $1.
02:10Great.
02:11Awesome.
02:12Turns out, thankfully, some dreams don't come true, Kelly.
02:14Five cases.
02:15Let's work through these and get you closer to some money.
02:17I will take number six, please.
02:19Hi, Natasha.
02:20Welcome.
02:21Hi.
02:22I feel like I might have a blue.
02:23I'm going to go 500.
02:25Great.
02:26Here we go.
02:27Oh, that's good.
02:29Yes.
02:30Okay, a set of 80 bucks.
02:32Yes.
02:33That's awesome.
02:34See?
02:35That's great.
02:36That was like a world championship celebration right there.
02:39Woo-hoo.
02:41Irish dancing, it's all waist down, isn't it?
02:44It is, yes.
02:45And remind me, what's the origins of that?
02:47Why is it only there down that all the action happens?
02:50Well, I think it became very popular during, like,
02:52the Troubles of Ireland.
02:54So when people were celebrating, police were walking around,
02:57they didn't want to see any fun,
02:58so people just decided to dance from their waist down.
03:01There were literally fun police.
03:03And you weren't allowed to party.
03:04Dancing was prohibited.
03:05No.
03:06So they would kind of, like, if you were in a barn,
03:08there's two, like, openings.
03:09You'd open the top one but not the bottom one.
03:11And it looks like everyone's just there.
03:13Just people walking around.
03:14They're dancing still but literally their feet are doing this.
03:16That's right.
03:17That's very good.
03:18I'm having the greatest time in the world.
03:20And that's why they do it.
03:21And that tradition continues.
03:22Yep, yep.
03:23And it's still going strong today.
03:24It looks hard.
03:26It's really hard.
03:27It's very physical.
03:28It takes a lot of training, a lot of work to get where we have.
03:32But we love it.
03:33Four cases.
03:34OK.
03:35I love 21's shirt, so we'll go with 21, please.
03:38Hey, Lee, how you doing?
03:39Good, and yourself?
03:40Really good.
03:41Love a bit of watermelon, do you, buddy?
03:43Yeah.
03:44What's in your case, Lee?
03:46I think I've got $100.
03:48Let's go, buddy.
03:49All right.
03:50Oh!
03:51That's right.
03:52$350.
03:56Three cases.
03:57I will take number nine, please.
03:59Hey, Drake.
04:00How you doing?
04:01Good, man.
04:02How are you?
04:03Very good.
04:04I reckon I've got the big one in here.
04:05I apologise in advance if I do, but $100,000.
04:06OK.
04:07Let's see if you're right, buddy.
04:08It's $5,000.
04:09You're fine.
04:10You're good with us.
04:11All right.
04:13You're good with us.
04:14Two more before your first bank offer comes in.
04:15OK, great.
04:16Did the Irish not like the Aussies stealing their crown?
04:18Oh, absolutely they didn't.
04:19What a victory.
04:20I know.
04:21Got some death stares on stage, but we took the glory.
04:24And on home turf, too.
04:25I assume it was in Ireland.
04:26It was actually in Scotland this year.
04:27Oh, was it?
04:28Yes, but they are in Ireland next year.
04:30So we came back and lots of celebrations from our dancing school.
04:33So it was unreal.
04:34We loved it.
04:35That's a mega achievement.
04:36Yeah.
04:37Are you so proud about that moment?
04:38It was something I'll never forget.
04:40We're the first Australian school to ever do it.
04:42Ever?
04:43Ever, yes.
04:44Ever?
04:45Did you hear that?
04:46All that hard work and dedication.
04:48Yes, yeah.
04:49Training through summer, it was a lot of work.
04:51But we wouldn't have it any other way.
04:53We just love it.
04:54Two more.
04:55Let's go number three, please.
04:56Hi, Tanya.
04:57How are you?
04:58Hi, great.
04:59Good.
05:00How are you?
05:01Really well.
05:02That's good.
05:03Nice to see you.
05:04What have you got?
05:06Good luck, Sarah.
05:08I think I have $2,500.
05:09We've got 13.
05:10We've just got one more to go.
05:11But one's okay.
05:12We can handle one.
05:13Don't do another.
05:14Yeah, no more.
05:15Let's go with 13.
05:16Lucky, hopefully, for me.
05:17All the best, Sarah.
05:18I think I have $20,000.
05:19Okay.
05:20Best of luck.
05:21It is $2,500, Geri.
05:22Thank you so much.
05:23Okay.
05:25All right, we've made it.
05:26We touched the $40,000 in there somewhere along the way.
05:27We did.
05:28But that's okay.
05:29We've still got four.
05:30That's all you need.
05:31Okay.
05:32This is nice.
05:33Good little start.
05:34Where do we sit with our banker?
05:36Let's kick this game off.
05:37Tell me how you feel about this.
05:38$7,190 now.
05:39What are you here to win?
05:40We're here to win big.
05:41You know, everyone wants $100,000.
05:42But Elizabeth and I are part of a team of eight.
05:43And we said coming into today that if we could get $20,000,
05:44that's going to be our team's airfare to Dublin.
05:45So...
05:46To try and go back-to-back world championships?
05:47Absolutely, we are.
05:48Okay, $20,000 is the target?
05:49$20,000 is the target.
05:50So $7,190.
05:51$7,190.
05:52$7,190.
05:53$7,190.
05:54$7,190.
05:55$7,190.
05:56$7,190.
05:57$7,190.
05:59Oh, there you are.
06:00Hi, Elizabeth.
06:01How you doing?
06:02I'm very well.
06:03Thank you very much.
06:04She's going so great?
06:05She's doing really well.
06:06Do you reckon deal or no deal to $7,190?
06:07No deal.
06:08All right.
06:09Your call.
06:10No deal!
06:11No deal!
06:12That's right, we've got four greens still there.
06:13Let's come back and have some fun.
06:14Ooh.
06:15In just a few minutes.
06:18Let's go.
06:19Okay.
06:20Oh my God, $7,190.
06:21$6,600.
06:22$6,600.
06:23$6,600.
06:24$6,600.
06:25$6,600.
06:26$6,600.
06:27Welcome back to Deal or No Deal, I'm with Sarah Whelan, current world Irish dancing
06:41champion. Part of an Australian team that are current champions. Hoping to win about
06:44$20,000 to take the team back over and go back to back world champions. How long have
06:49you been doing it for? Way too long. Why do you say that? We're about five years past
06:55our expiry date in Irish dancing, Elizabeth and I. But you're still getting drawn back
06:59in. Yeah we do. So we've been dancing for about 24 years. Choice. Yeah, long, long time.
07:05So we're hoping we're going to look really good if we can give the team some money and
07:10then we'll just finish it in Dublin. I kind of want to be reminded what it looks like
07:14in full flying form. You know what I mean? You guys want to see a little bit of Irish
07:18dancing from a current world champion? Okay. Alright, this is my stage, I'll take it.
07:25It's beautiful, it's majestic, it is extraordinary. And they are the greatest in the world. Here
07:40I'm the lord of the deal. Five cases to open in this round before your next offer from
07:43the bank. Let's get to it. Okay, let's go number 8 please. Hi Julianne, how are you?
07:49I'm alright, thank you. Lovely to see you. I got blue, 75. 75, best of luck. 1,000. Okay.
07:58Let's get to 4. Okay, next I will take number 15 please. Hi Monica. Hi, I think I have $75.
08:08Okay. Yeah! Super close. This is nice. That's great. It can get a little bit dangerous.
08:17Oh absolutely, it does. You know, on stage with people from other schools, you don't
08:22know each other's choreography and you want to be at the front. Oh, you're competing on
08:25the same piece of stage at the same time? Yep, same time. It gets pretty hectic out
08:30there and you know, we've got wigs on so look out. Do you ever like just throw a little
08:35bit of an extra high kick at the opposition over there as they're going? Yeah, a little
08:38bit loud as they're going hard. Can it get dirty? Well, it can. Yeah. It can get pretty
08:41dirty up there. But we try and keep it clean. Have you ever hurt yourself? Unfortunately
08:46I have. I was on stage, I got a kick across my face, I fell over and I broke my foot.
08:52No way! Yep. Did you stand up and then you were like, oh my god, it's broken, I can't
08:56continue. Yeah, so I kept smiling and just thought, okay, keep going, I can do it. I
09:01couldn't do it so I stopped and just cried. Oh no, you poor thing. I know. But I came
09:06back stronger and better so that's all that matters. Look at you now, you world champion
09:10you. Three cases, let's get some. Okay, I will take number 12 please. Good luck Sarah.
09:17Thank you. I think I've got 50 grand. Ooh, the green. Nah, 750. Good. I think I'll go
09:26to the front row now. Hopefully a lucky seven. Let's go with you please. Hello. G'day Sinead,
09:31how you doing? Good, thank you. I think I've got $100. $100. $10,000, okay. We're still
09:39going perfectly good here. It's not too bad. Mate, you got four greens including three
09:43of the biggest. This is nice. Okay. Where's the new world championships going to be? So
09:48they're in Dublin next year. Okay. So we need a little bit of cash to get there. I will
09:54take please number 10. Hi Sarah, for your sake I hope I've got 50 cents. Me too. Thank
10:00you Cassandra. It is 7,500 and plus you get your very own Deal or No Deal board game.
10:07Get yours at Big W. Look how happy she is. Give us a look. Yeah. Where's the happy camper?
10:15I sit on three of those so I can see over the steering wheel in my car. They are really
10:20handy. Let's have a look at your latest offer from the bank.
10:29$9,260 is what we've got on the table right here right now. It's a great offer. At the
10:36moment we are riding the luck of the Irish. We are. It's good, it's really good. Yeah,
10:41I feel like maybe the luck of the Irish maybe are still on our side so I'm going to say.
10:46We leave here with a lot less than $9,260. However, with four greens still in play it's
10:51a Deal or No Deal. I'm going to say No Deal. She's got those greens stacked. We've got
10:58so much money still left in the game. Hopefully there's a big green in there. Let's go get
11:02it when we come back.
11:03Look at this. Four greens. Putting three at the top.
11:22You've won green on purpose haven't you? Maybe. Yeah, maybe. That's a really good sign that
11:27you've got one in there. Case 1, how are you feeling about it now that we're half way through?
11:31We've opened 11 cases. We have 11 to go. Talk to me about 1. I'm feeling good about
11:36case 1. Yeah, so I mean it makes sense that we're the world champions. Number 1 in the
11:40world. We'll pick number 1 today. Elizabeth coincidentally has my lucky number as well
11:45so. Two good signs. Two good signs. Well hopefully this is the pot of luck at the end of your
11:50rainbow. You know what I mean? Oh, I'd love that. And I am the little leprechaun that's
11:54here to help you find it. Thank you so much. What a lovely day. Do me a favour, do me a
11:59favour. Let's go chase it down. Three cases. Okay. That's a great accent. Thank you very
12:06much. I'm quite Irish. I will take please number 22. Well done Sarah. I'm hoping you've
12:15only got 75. Okay Jenny, thank you. It is. Congrats. Nice one Jenny. Oh, this is going
12:22so well. It's quite blue still up there. Yeah. More greens. Man, this is working out well
12:28so far. Next I will take 5 please. Hi Grant. Hi Sarah. Hi Juliana. This number is my daughter's
12:36birthday so I'm hoping that it is good for you but I'm going to say that it's 50,000.
12:43What? That is not good for you. No, not good. It is the opposite of good for you. Let's
12:50see anyway. Are you kidding me? Juliana, you were right. 50,000 was inside and that's 250
13:01bucks for you. Well done. Where would you like to go though? You've got one more. Okay.
13:07Well, I did get married on the 20th of January. That's a good number. That's good to you.
13:11That was pretty good so maybe I'll take 20 please. Hi Megan. Hello. Good luck. I think
13:16I have $25. Well, go. Yes. Well done. Well done. Another strong finish to that game.
13:27We did lose the 50,000. Yeah, we did. But we still got three greens including 75,000
13:32and 100,000. You know what? The banker is right to fear you right now. Offers incoming.
13:4210,280 now. The double digits. Did you say 20? Ideally 20. To get you and the team over
13:50there to go back to back world championship in Irish dancing? That's correct. Okay. That's
13:54right. So we're about halfway there. That might get Elizabeth and I there but you know.
13:58You're the real stars of the team anyway. Absolutely. We're up the front. Yeah, sorry.
14:04I'm going to say no dear. Now it gets fun. Doesn't it? Let's just ratchet up the tension
14:14a little bit more, shall we? Two cases to open. Let's choose carefully. Okay. I think
14:20I will go with number 11 please. I think I got 100,000. Oh no. Okay, Joseph. It's got
14:28to be somewhere. Is it in your case? Let's have a look. Oh, the slow reveal. Pop her
14:33open, son. The absolute opposite end of the scale, Joseph. Oh my God. Oh, I was worried
14:45about that one still in there. That was like a four leaf clover. Oh, it was. Just one more.
14:49One more. Will it be a three leaf or a four leaf? Let's go 16 please. Good luck. Honestly,
14:57I stood here to prove my wife wrong because she said she had 100,000 in her case. So I
15:02think I must have it. Great. I hope that you don't. Hopefully I don't. Let's see who's
15:06right. 75 bucks, ladies. Thank you, my man. This is mega. This is amazing. Oh my God.
15:13It's a 50% chance you've got a green amount in there. It could be 30,000. It could be
15:1875 or 100,000. We are in an amazing place. This is an amazing game. Oh my God. Unreal.
15:25Well, well, well, banker. 30,070. Wow, that's insane. The room does not like the offer.
15:34I know. You do have three greens up your sleeve, right? Yes. We come back, we'll go two cases.
15:40Okay. So does that reduce the risk? Are you feeling adventurous? We took a gamble going
15:45to the world. I'm going to take a gamble here. I'm going to say no deal. I got an amazing
15:53feeling about this. We've got 75,000, 100,000 still sitting there. We do. How good is this
15:58day going to become? I can't believe it. Find out in a few minutes.
16:10Welcome back to Deal or No Deal. Sarah Whelan. When Irish eyes are smiling, the whole world's
16:17smiling too. Because you've got three greens. And this whole house knows that you have so
16:23much power right now. This is incredible. I know. What on earth is happening? You might
16:30be on the cusp of winning an amazing amount of money is what might be happening. Yeah,
16:34that would be so lovely. How's one feeling right now? It's feeling good. Keeping it close,
16:39feeling good. Okay. Let's see if the luck of the Irish is a real thing. Two cases to
16:43it. Could I please have number two? Hi, Grant. Hi, Sarah. I felt red from the beginning.
16:50And I think that would be good for you. So 20,000. Please. We can deal with that. You
16:54can handle that. Let's see what's in that.
17:04And look at that. You've got more greens than anything else. More greens than any other
17:08colour. Wow. It's a good colour. It's a good colour. One case. Okay. Feeling the heat?
17:13I'm feeling the heat. There's a fair bit of pressure at this point, right? We are used
17:16to pressure in Irish dancing, but this is something else. This is life changing. It
17:20absolutely is. 14, please. Good luck. I'm feeling manifesting the $100. Great. Ryan,
17:28let's have a look. Let's have a peek. Oh, no! That's a problem when you get down to
17:35this few cases. It is. You can easily stumble across a big one. And that's exactly what
17:39we've done. Yes. Ryan didn't want to have that happen, but it has. No. There goes 100.
17:44So there's still a 50% chance, though, that you've got a green in there, right? Yes. People
17:48dream of this situation. I know. Being this close to the end, where maybe they might have
17:5230 grand or 75 in their case. Wow. That could be you. Wow. Unreal. What's the banker going
17:58to tempt you with to leave right now? I know. To skedaddle? Take a look at this.
18:06It's $11,530. Of course, we lost $100,000. We did. We had a big loss there. Still a nice
18:15offer. Still a 50% chance you've got a green in your case. I know. So if you don't like
18:21that amount, and maybe the idea of going a little further and getting closer to finding
18:25out what's in case one is more your thing, we're just going to go one at a time from
18:29here. Okay, that makes a difference. Elizabeth, are you...? I think we need to keep going.
18:33Okay, great. Yeah. Are we doing it? Are we doing it? Deal or no deal? No deal! One more.
18:44I'm off. How's this going to end? This is wild. Yeah, this is like the backstage nerves.
18:50This is so good. One more case. Okay, I will take number 18, please. Good luck, Sarah.
18:57I think I've got $30,000. I'm going to high kick the hell out of this if it's a blue.
19:02Oh, no! Oh, no. There goes $75,000. So now, well, you've still got a one in three chance
19:11you've got $30,000 in case one. You're probably feeling a little bit more vulnerable now.
19:15Sarah is incoming. $7,001. How are you doing? Let's talk this through. Well, this is hard.
19:28I mean, $7,000 is an amazing amount of money that would make such a difference to the team.
19:34There's still $30,000 somewhere. I know. It could be in your case. Even if you went one more
19:40and we just found one of those blues, you're going to get a bigger bank off it next time.
19:43No, it's just finding that blue. I've got to find it, but am I going to find it?
19:51Look at four. Four's gone. Is it now? Jamie, have you got blue? I have blue.
19:56Jamie says it's right there. So, do you want to push a little further?
20:00Or would you like to hold on, get closer to finding it? We've got $30,000 and maybe get a healthier
20:05offer next time from the bank. Is it deal or no deal?
20:14No deal!
20:21Interested to know where you want to go next? I know. You've decided? Take the chance. Push on.
20:26I'm going to be really cut at you if you're wrong. Jamie, you're not going to be wrong, are you?
20:32Seeing how everything else has panned out, I think I should have a blue.
20:35Alright, let's go with you, Jamie. And you say in case four is?
20:39I'm going to go with $100.
20:49Oh no. No, we took the chance. We rolled the dice and it didn't work out.
20:54That's a devastating blow. This might hurt even more. A little bit, yeah.
21:00$50. Yeah. Well, we've either got $5 or $100 in our case. Deal or no deal?
21:15We'll go no deal.
21:21Our highest chance of value for winnings is if we can get a correct guess out of case 19.
21:28Elizabeth, do you reckon you've got the $5 or the $100 in there? I do think I've got the $100.
21:33Alright, for $250. How about we just find out what's in there after all, eh? Why not?
21:38Off you go, Elizabeth. Inside case 19 is?
21:42$100 in there. She's got a correct guess. She's got the $50, which means inside your case, case one, is $5.
21:52That is not the winnings that are worthy of a world champion Irish dancer. That is not fair.
21:58It's not, no. But please, make sure you get back to go back-to-back world champions.
22:03Oh, we would love to. Because we'd love to see you number one one more time.
22:07The Aussie's doing better. Thank you so much for playing. Thank you so much.
22:11Thank you, Elizabeth. We wish you well. I'm Greg Daniel. We'll see you next time on Deal or No Deal.
22:15Let's make a big win then, eh?
