00:00India's voting model appreciated by US President Donald Trump.
00:04That's the top news coming in on this bulletin.
00:06Trump has signed an executable order on America's elections
00:09and has cleared one sweeping change on how the USA votes.
00:14Trump has said, the citizen ID is a must for those who want to cast votes.
00:20Remember in the USA, the citizen ID in itself to be shown ahead of casting a vote
00:24had become a huge debate, a controversy.
00:27Trump citing India's example on election cleanup.
00:31Remember in many ways a big validation also coming in from the United States of America
00:34as Trump cites India linking the voter identity card
00:38that each one of us has to show, has to have
00:41and linking it to the Aadhaar card.
00:43Trump says, America has no check if there is a voter fraud
00:48and therefore possibly a sweeping change coming in.
00:51Remember India is one of the largest democracies
00:55and it is one of the biggest democracies remember
00:57but also the manner in which we have been holding elections successfully
01:01whether it's local elections assembly or for the parliament
01:04and each time that is what has surprised the world
01:07of how do these millions of people come together to vote
01:11and in such a smooth set functioning.
01:13Shivani Sharma is joining me for the latest on that.
01:16Shivani, that's very interesting.
01:19Tell us about what Trump has said
01:21and how is possibly that going to be incorporated
01:24in America's election season.
01:51Elections or absentee ballots can impact these elections
01:55that's what Donald Trump said
01:57and while he was saying this he has also cited India as an example
02:00as India being the largest democracy
02:03and in the manner how the votes are validated
02:06especially in the biometric format
02:10so that was appreciated by Donald Trump.
02:12India has been holding a huge election process
02:16and it's a cumbersome process yet
02:18it is all being done in a systematic manner
02:21to avoid any kind of flaws
02:24any kind of foul play
02:26and that's what has been appreciated by US President Donald Trump
02:29to when he is trying to make some broad changes
02:32in the electoral process in United States.
02:35Remember exactly how India has a very clear focus on the voter ID
02:38linking it to the Aadhaar as well
02:40so that all of it can be verified about the citizen
02:43who has cast the vote on the ballot.
02:45Now the USA also in many ways citing it
02:48and now there have been some changes made
02:50in an executive order by Donald Trump
02:52we'll have more details coming in on that soon.
02:54Thank you very much for now.
02:55Shivani Sharma we have more news coming in
02:57let's take a look at that.
03:04The International Monetary Fund is appreciating India's growth.
03:08The IMF has put out a statement
03:10saying India's GDP doubled in the past 10 years
03:13quoting from 2015 to 2025
03:16saying that India's GDP
03:20has doubled in the past 10 years
03:24and is set to overtake Japan next.
03:27This is important remember
03:29it says India grew 105% in 10 years
03:32105% in 10 years
03:34outpacing America and China in GDP growth.
03:38Now remember while USA and China
03:40just to give you a perspective
03:41are still on top
03:43when it comes to the top 5 world economies
03:46in which India also is now of course pacing ahead
03:49but what the IMF says
03:51is that it outpaced in the GDP growth
03:53the manner in which it has maintained its stability
03:56its economy especially whether it was COVID pandemic
03:59remember the Western nations especially
04:01have been hit by the Russia-Ukraine war
04:04by the conflict in West Asia.
04:06Let's get an understanding on this.
04:08My business today correspondent
04:09Karishma Sudhani is joining me right now.
04:11Karishma good morning.
04:13Tell me more about what the IMF has said
04:16and it takes me back to the statement of
04:18the only bright spot in a otherwise dark horizon.
04:24Well Pooja IMF has reiterated
04:26what we have been saying
04:28that India has been the fastest growing
04:31major economy in the world
04:32and if you see by data
04:35this has been in the last 10 years
04:37since close to 2014
04:40and currently India is on the cusp of overtaking Japan
04:43as the 4th largest economy in the world.
04:46We need to understand that
04:48our pace in upping our GDP numbers
04:52in the last 10 years has been high
04:54and that is also because of our changing policies
04:57and our legal laws
05:01and of course to do with the fact that
05:04consumption has increased in the country
05:06and more and more investments have come into the country
05:10which has led to increased manufacturing
05:12and more and more people buying
05:14which has increased the GDP of our country.
05:17While India has topped the list
05:21in terms of pace of growth
05:23I would also like to mention that
05:26the top two spots in terms of size of economy
05:29still remain with the US and China
05:31and Germany is in the 3rd place
05:33Japan is in the 4th place
05:35and we are currently in the 5th place
05:37as shown by the currency trillion dollar.
05:39But however with this pace
05:42if we continue then
05:44we could become a 10 trillion dollar economy.
05:46And that's one of the reasons remember
05:48it's our stable economy
05:49it's our rising economy as a developing country
05:51that the world is taking note of
05:53what is it that India is doing right
05:54despite a lot of other issues
05:56within the country
05:57but it's keeping its economy stable
05:59while even the top developed nations
06:01are currently suffering
06:03with regard to their economies.
06:04So let's hope fingers crossed
06:06that our economy will be stable
06:08and we will be going ahead.
06:17Muslims are safest in Uttar Pradesh
06:19is what Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is claiming.
06:22It's a big statement that has come in
06:24from the top leader of the state
06:26Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
06:27asserting on law and order
06:29if Hindus are safe in Uttar Pradesh
06:32so are members of the Muslim community.
06:34CM Yogi Adityanath
06:36big remark on the Mathura faith fight as well
06:39specifically with regard to the Krishna temple.
06:41Yogi Adityanath here says
06:43hands have been tied on that
06:45with regard to a court order
06:47else it would have been different.
06:49Remember whether it's the Ayodhya Mandir
06:52that had to be built
06:54or with regard to the other historic sites
06:56it's the legal aspect that is being approached.
06:58Here's what Yogi Adityanath has said
07:01about Muslims are safest in Uttar Pradesh.
07:18So that's a very interesting comment
07:20that has come in.
07:21I want to immediately bring in
07:22Samarth Srivastava for the latest on that.
07:24Samarth in this conversation with AIR LIVE
07:27very clear when he says
07:30that if Hindus are safe so are Muslims.
07:32Tell us more about this
07:34and the Mathura fight as well.
08:00So CM is trying to refer
08:02that if one community is safe
08:04then it's very obvious that another community
08:06will also remain safe.
08:08And CM with his statement tries to
08:10maintain a balance and trying to say
08:12that there is no dominance
08:15or no partiality upon any community
08:17or caste in Uttar Pradesh.
08:19And if Hindus are safe
08:20then Muslims are safe.
08:22So the Samajwadi Party leaders
08:24or the Congress leaders
08:26keep on saying that yes
08:28minorities and especially Muslims
08:30are facing bad in the Yogi Adityanath tenure.
08:33But CM Yogi Adityanath
08:35clearly denying all these facts
08:37and calling it just a rumour
08:39and saying that yes
08:41both Hindus and Muslims
08:43are safe in Uttar Pradesh.
08:44Samarth thank you for now.
08:45Let's listen in again to
08:47what did UP Chief Minister
08:49Yogi Adityanath say to the charge
08:51about are Muslims safe in Uttar Pradesh.
08:59Muslims are safe in Uttar Pradesh.
09:01Most safe.
09:03If Hindus are safe then they are also safe.
09:05Are Muslims safe in your state?
09:08Muslims are safe in Uttar Pradesh.
09:10Most safe.
09:12If Hindus are safe then they are also safe.
09:20Bihar elections expected this year.
09:22All parties putting forth their strategy.
09:24Prashant Kishore set to contest
09:26elections this time under his banner
09:28has said no to the India bloc.
09:30This is very interesting.
09:32PK as he is called.
09:34Prashant Kishore has said will not join
09:36the opposition alliance.
09:38Jan Suraj party will be fighting
09:40on over 243 Bihar seats.
09:42That means will he go solo
09:44and not ally
09:46even with the NDA
09:48and the BJP JD alliance
09:50neither with the RJD Congress
09:52and other parties alliance.
09:53Bihar elections is where Prashant Kishore says
09:56will be fighting the NDA
09:58and the India bloc as well.
10:00What does this mean?
10:01Remember this is not now about
10:03two way contest.
10:05This could become a multiple layer contest.
10:07A three layer and when someone like
10:09Prashant Kishore comes in.
10:10He has been a strategist.
10:11He is contesting elections this time
10:13under his banner Jan Suraj.
10:15Will he make a dent of any kind?
10:17And who will that dent benefit?
10:19Will it benefit the India bloc,
10:21RJD Congress or the NDA alliance partners?
10:23So another Clement coming in
10:25to the Bihar throne.
10:26PK says and this is
10:28a statement to India today.
10:30Going alone in Bihar.
10:32Going solo.
10:33Remember this is right now pre-poll
10:35references.
10:36Could it change as a post-poll alliance?
10:38We will be tracking that.
10:39But clearly for now Prashant Kishore
10:41strategist turned Neta has this to say.
10:43Jan Suraj party
10:45is going to go solo.
10:46Remember he is from Bihar.
10:48He has been focusing a lot on the state
10:50in the past one to two years
10:51ever since he has opened this outfit.
10:53But he has worked in many ways with all parties.
10:56Whether parties with regard to the BJP,
10:58the Congress,
10:59other parties of other alliances.
11:02So he clearly understands political strategies.
11:04But to do it as a Neta of course
11:06is a different ball game.
11:13Including Bihar and other parts of the country
11:15Bharatiya Janata Party's mega Muslim outreach
11:18ahead of the Eid festival.
11:20Here is what the BJP is planning.
11:22They have these gift hampers prepared
11:24ahead of Eid which is next week.
11:26The BJP launching
11:27Saugate Modi initiative
11:29which is expected to benefit over 30 lakh
11:31underprivileged Muslims.
11:32And they will receive special kits.
11:34The initiative has already started.
11:36As you can see long queues can be seen.
11:38So what is in this gift hamper?
11:39On your screens.
11:40Sevaiyan.
11:41Sweets that are usually consumed
11:43ahead of the festival of Eid.
11:44Then food items like
11:46besan, dry fruits, milk and sugar.
11:48Then there are also clothes packets
11:50for both men and women.
11:52Hampers will be distributed by BJP members
11:54and leaders at over 30,000 mosques
11:56across India.
11:58Centre's initiative though has triggered
12:00criticism while the BJP is going all out
12:02with this Saugate Modi.
12:04Opposition leaders are saying
12:06this is vote bank politics that you are indulging in.
12:18It is a matter of joy that BJP
12:20has now started celebrating.
12:22On a large scale.
12:24And BJP is that party
12:26if they get one vote
12:28by doing something
12:30then they will
12:32perform that thing immediately.
12:34If the Prime Minister has this feeling
12:36then definitely welcome it.
12:38But there are 25 crore Muslims
12:40in the country.
12:42Approximately 25 crore Muslims.
12:44And 95% Muslims
12:46are very poor.
12:48So the scale of poverty is very large.
12:50But Muslims don't need this kit.
12:52If the Prime Minister
12:54wants to welcome the Muslims
12:56then the Prime Minister should
12:58welcome the Muslims with security.
13:00Welcome the Muslims with education.
13:02Welcome the Muslims with employment.
13:04Welcome the Muslims with love.
13:06The Muslims of the country need this welcome.
13:08If the Prime Minister
13:10gives it then for the Prime Minister
13:12and for the Muslims
13:14it will be best.
13:16For the citizens of the country
13:18something should be done.
13:20And if
13:22the Prime Minister is feeling
13:24that because of his party
13:26and his government policies
13:28Muslim brothers are worried
13:30and giving them
13:32some relief, some comfort
13:34then it is a good thing.
13:36More than these comforts
13:38to the Muslims
13:40which you have
13:42made a platform
13:44for them.
13:46The Muslims
13:48want
13:50that our brotherhood
13:52which we call
13:54the non-Jamaican culture
13:56that platform should be
13:58established again.
14:00The welcome kit of Modi
14:02is not only for the Muslims.
14:04This is for the month of Ramadan
14:06which is the month of blessings.
14:08We are providing it to the Muslims.
14:10We have identified
14:1232,000 of our workers.
14:14We have targeted
14:16around 100 people.
14:18Especially those who live
14:20in the surrounding of mosques and madrasas
14:22poor women
14:24and the
14:26people.
14:28This is the basic mantra of the BJP.
14:30Supporting everyone,
14:32development, faith and effort
14:34on the ground.
14:36This is the program.
14:38This has to reach to the Muslims.
14:40This is the link.
14:42I say not 32 lakhs
14:44but 64 lakhs and 1 crore.
14:46The more you reach
14:48the more people will reach you.
14:50This is the truth.
14:52The Muslims want to come to the BJP.
14:54But when they see
14:56that some statements are brave
14:58who give such false statements
15:00which are not with the permission of the higher command
15:02and they give it to shine themselves
15:04then the Muslims go back and forth.
15:06If the higher command
15:08and the government
15:10and the party
15:12have such schemes
15:14then why won't the Muslims come?
15:16The Muslims don't have an alternative.
15:18If the party wants to be an alternative
15:20then the Muslims are ready.
15:24India Today's Piyush Mishra
15:26is joining me live in this telecast.
15:28He closely tracks the Bharatiya Janata Party.
15:30Piyush, good morning.
15:32Do you think this is a strategy
15:34to push the BJP ahead of some assembly elections
15:36and in general to reach out to the Muslims
15:38who possibly as a narrative goes
15:40do not vote
15:42or will not vote for the BJP?
15:44Absolutely.
15:46A Muslim outreach program has now been initiated
15:48by the Bharatiya Janata Party
15:50and through this BJP wants to reach out
15:52not only to the Muslim community
15:54but also to all minorities of the country
15:56because these kits will not be distributed
15:58only during the Eid celebration
16:00but also during the Easter celebration
16:02or the celebrations of any festival
16:04of minorities here in the country
16:06and that's the message which has been given out
16:08by the BJP yesterday.
16:10Remember that a program was also organized
16:12in National Capital near Nizamuddin
16:14where kits were distributed to the poor Muslim people
16:16and this kit includes
16:18the food items,
16:20eatable items,
16:22cloth items are also there
16:24and it's a mega outreach program
16:26through which BJP is trying to connect
16:28with around 32 lakh Muslims
16:30in the country, 32,000 workers
16:32have been assigned this duty
16:34a program, a mega program
16:36has already been designed
16:38before that we also saw at Tikpal
16:40is taking place at BJP headquarters
16:42where it was decided that
16:44Saugate Modi, under the campaign of
16:46Saugate Modi, these kits will be
16:48distributed but on the other side of Pooja
16:50we are already seeing as to how the politics
16:52taking place, the opposition has
16:54attacked BJP
16:56saying that the Muslim in this country
16:58wants protection not Saugate
17:00So basically
17:02the BJP minority groups like Piyush
17:04is telling us not just restricting it to
17:06Eid or to the Muslim community but
17:08Easter and other community
17:10related events and festivals will also
17:12see similar kind of strategy
17:14which the opposition is attacking right now
17:16Piyush thank you very much for now, we will be tracking that
17:18and more, it's going to be a week long affair
17:20we have some more news coming in, let's take a look
17:22at that
17:28What's happening
17:30in Jharkhand, there's been another communal
17:32flare up being reported from the state
17:34this is in Hazaribagh, a clash
17:36took place ahead of the Ram Navami
17:38procession and celebration
17:40remember Ram Navami is in the next few days
17:42it's on the 6th of April
17:44but there was a clash of communal nature
17:46reported, there was a religious
17:48march, a procession that was
17:50stoned near the
17:52Jama Masjid mosque, it was pelted with
17:54stones by the group, we are told
17:56that cops are meanwhile doing aerial
17:58firing to disperse a violent mob
18:00clashes over
18:02provocative song that was allegedly
18:04played at the procession, so
18:06ahead of the Ram Navami, possibly a religious
18:08procession was passing through
18:10in front of the mosque, the allegation
18:12is that some provocative
18:14song was being played
18:16but what you can see on the ground
18:18look at that, this is evening
18:20heavy stone pelting
18:22clashes between the two groups
18:24cops have called the religious community
18:26leaders from both communities
18:28for a peace meeting, the situation
18:30for now possibly under control
18:32but these are the latest visuals coming in
18:34Satyajit Kumar is joining
18:36me on the phone line, Satyajit good
18:38morning, what happened, what is
18:40the status right now, just a few days
18:42ago in Jharkhand we saw
18:44the incidents of violence and
18:46communal tensions again this time in
18:48Hazaribagh
18:50yes Pooja it seems
18:52it has become a regular feature in Jharkhand
18:54just a few days back during
18:56Sivarathri
18:58two groups had clashed over
19:00a issue of
19:02hoisting a flag
19:04over the issue of demolition
19:06and now a provocative
19:08song
19:10which was being played during the procession of
19:12Mangalajinu, Mangalajinu is a tradition
19:14since
19:16years and decades and
19:18ahead of Ram Navami
19:20the procession is taken out on every
19:22Tuesday night
19:24yesterday also the magnitude of the
19:26clash would have been even bigger
19:28and the magistrate was
19:30not deployed ahead of the jaloos
19:32now when the
19:34provocative song was
19:36played, one group was opposed to it
19:38and
19:40what was told to us by
19:42the DC Hazaribagh
19:44Nancy Sahay, she said that
19:46rumours were also
19:48brewing around a bottle
19:50like object
19:52was found
19:54was spotted by
19:56a few members of the crowd
19:58when the procession was
20:00taken out and they assumed that
20:02the stone pelting had started
20:04retaliation from both the sides
20:06were seen after that and
20:08it escalated into stone pelting
20:10from both the sides. Police was
20:12deployed ahead of that and now
20:14and after that
20:16considering the situation, police opened fire
20:18and resorted to
20:20Let's listen into that Satyajit, stay on
20:22with me because this air firing
20:24that has been caught on camera, remember
20:26despite police deployment this clash happened
20:28let's listen in what's happening on the ground
20:46I think what is the latest status and how peace can prevail
20:54remember it's a festive season both
20:56for Muslims and Hindus in the next few days
20:58and in Jharkhand we have seen
21:00communal tensions flaring up, can they bring it under
21:02control in the days to come
21:04next week remember, there's the Hindu
21:06New Year festival, there's also Eid
21:08so there will be a lot of prep that needs to be done
21:10by the agencies on the ground
21:17Meanwhile there was one big story
21:19that literally grabbed all the attention
21:21this week was from Maharashtra
21:23was it satire, a joke
21:25freedom of expression or a joke
21:27that was dragged too far
21:29a political storm has erupted over comedian Kunal
21:31Kamra's satire on Maharashtra Deputy
21:33Chief Minister Eknath Shinde
21:35but what's interesting is beyond what the
21:37comic had said, it's the UBT Sen
21:39on one side and the Mahayati leaders
21:41on another clashing with each other
21:43Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aditya Thackeray accused
21:45Eknath Shinde, Lead Chef Sena of
21:47overreacting to Kamra's remarks
21:49and without any reason
21:51Interestingly, Eknath Shinde has also
21:53broken his silence and he's
21:55alleging that Kamra's
21:57intentions are doubtful, accusing him
21:59of having taken Supari
22:01Kunal Kamra on his part
22:03maintains defiance, he's saying he's not going to
22:05apologize for his comments
22:07The mistakes he has made
22:09our Chief Minister
22:11has told us
22:13that according to the law
22:15the proceedings will take place
22:17we will have to see
22:19This is the thing
22:21if someone else does it, they say
22:23the character is weak, if they do it themselves
22:25then everything is fine
22:27I feel that Bhajap's role is only for elections
22:29Bhajap's Hindutva is an election
22:31I'm not saying they're doing it right or wrong
22:33but every time, if you see
22:35if someone from Bangladesh does it, it's fine
22:37if someone from Pakistan
22:39watches a match, it's fine
22:41but what happens in our country
22:43or what other parties do in our country, that's wrong
22:45Kamra Babra
22:49more than his worth
22:51everyone is exaggerating
22:53he
22:55said bad things about our
22:57Minister of Finance in Delhi,
22:59Nirmala Sitharaman
23:01he said bad things about
23:03Prime Minister Narendra Modi
23:05he said bad things about Shinde
23:07he said bad things about Mukesh Ambani
23:09he said bad things about Narendra
23:11he said bad things about Supreme Court
23:13so if someone is supporting him
23:15then more than his worth
23:17these people are worse
23:19yes, the police must have understood
23:21I don't know, I'm in Sonsat
23:23he will definitely get Prasad
23:25he will get Shiv Senik Prasad
23:27Shiv Senik means reaction
23:31and the reaction will happen
23:33but comedy doesn't mean
23:35that you have to insult someone
23:37you have the right to insult
23:39you have the right to make people laugh
23:41but while making people laugh
23:43you don't have the right to hurt
23:45Eknath Shinde is a very honest person
23:47Eknath Shinde who drives auto
23:49later became the Chief Minister
23:51of Maharashtra
23:53and
23:55it's not right
23:57to put such allegations
23:59on such a good person
24:01why did you ask for forgiveness
24:03leave the words
24:05tell me one word
24:07which is wrong
24:09he told the truth
24:11so what's wrong with that
24:13didn't you go to Goa TV
24:15then why do you feel bad
24:17the drama you were doing there
24:19people were watching
24:21you were telling on TV
24:23how you were dancing
24:25this is the job of a comedian
24:27this is the job of a comedian
24:29he is a comedian
24:31he has nothing to do with the truth
24:33Eknath Shinde
24:35the leaders of the BJP
24:37should open their hearts
24:39if you are in the government
24:41then you can make people react against anyone
24:43file an FIR
24:45send the police
24:47close it
24:49destroy their studios
24:51is it right
24:53that you are taking the law in your own hands
24:55if a comedian is doing comedy
24:57then he should be taken
24:59in the same way
25:01make it a law
25:03that no one will do comedy in the country
25:31Eknath Shinde
26:01Kamra refuses to apologize
26:03claiming he made the same comment
26:05Ajit Pawar made on Shinde earlier
26:07and he has the right to poke fun at Netas
26:25The Habitat studio, the venue of Kamra's show
26:27was targeted by Shiv Sena workers
26:29on Sunday
26:31Kamra condemned the vandalism
26:33unleashed by the Sena workers
26:35but reiterated he is not afraid
26:45The Maharashtra government is doubling down
26:47on the comedian
26:49The BMC continued its crackdown on Habitat
26:51pulling down alleged illegal portions of the building
26:59In both the groups
27:01the low level speech
27:03against Shinde
27:05or the poem
27:07but those who are
27:09insulting the group
27:11those who are trying to
27:13diminish the group
27:15should be punished
27:29Kamra's satire and its backlash
27:31has triggered a war of words
27:33between the BJP and the Maharashtra Vikas Aghari
27:59Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath
28:01too hit out at the comic
28:03claiming freedom of speech
28:05can't be misused
28:07to insult others or divide
28:29The comedian has now been summoned
28:31by the Mumbai police
28:33but he sought a week's time to appear
28:35With Divya H Singh in Mumbai
28:37Bureau report India Today
28:59EPS Alliance meeting
29:01What are sources telling us from this meeting?
29:03Was it simply a courtesy call or much more?
29:05Here's what's happened
29:07Sources tell us that
29:09Errapadi K Palanisamy has wanted
29:11a reduced role
29:13possibly for Annamalai
29:15EPS wants AIDMK
29:17to lead NDA in Tamil Nadu
29:19So there could be a tricky situation here
29:21for the BJP
29:23Remember the Bharatiya Janata Party
29:25desperate to make inroads
29:27He's been able to make waves
29:29in political discourse in Tamil Nadu
29:31where the BJP hasn't had much of a strength
29:33But with the 15 minutes long meeting
29:35with the AIDMK leader
29:37EPS and other leaders
29:39with Home Minister Amit Shah
29:41and you can see all on camera
29:43not a secret meeting
29:45but does it mark return of AIDMK
29:47to the NDA fold?
29:49EPS is not worried about
29:51possibly other leaders
29:53within their own
29:55TTV, Sasikala, OPS
29:57these were big issues for AIDMK
29:59But when it comes
30:01to Annamalai
30:03who's been a firebrand leader in Tamil Nadu
30:05will the AIDMK say
30:07we need to have the bigger share
30:09when it comes to
30:11the political discourse, to the narrative
30:13to the strategy in Tamil Nadu
30:15than Annamalai because then
30:17remember that also will decide possibly
30:19the post poll decisions
30:21if at all this alliance wins
30:23if it's going to turn into NDN
30:25that's a big if and they fight and win
30:27in the state
30:29will the next CM be from AIDMK
30:31or the Bharatiya Janata Party
30:33India Today's Pramod Madhav joins me
30:35for the latest on that
30:37Pramod, good morning
30:39so in many ways the election season
30:41beginning in your state
30:43tell me about this meeting in AIDMK
30:45and why would there be at all a conflict
30:47between Annamalai and EPS and other leaders
30:50interesting meeting that occurred yesterday
30:52because the meeting itself was a sudden one
30:54and it was even mocked by the CM
30:56in the assembly, CM Stalin said
30:58that EPS has gone on a meeting to Delhi
31:00we all know and he's going to meet a prominent person
31:02however, when EPS landed in Delhi
31:04he even then denied that there is no such meeting
31:06and he only said that he went to Delhi
31:08just to look at the new
31:10AIDMK office that has been built over there
31:12and in fact the meeting occurred yesterday night
31:14and very interestingly
31:16the EPS or the other leaders
31:19even though EPS is the opposition party leader
31:21did not use a government vehicle
31:23they went on a normal vehicle
31:25met with the Home Minister
31:26and you could see those visuals over there
31:28it was a pleasant meeting
31:30with SP Villamani, the strongman of EPS
31:32who has also played a very crucial role
31:34in the past several months in changing the stance
31:36or softening the stance of EPS
31:38was also there, along with KP Munusamy
31:40and CV Sanmugam, the other two prominent
31:42leaders from AIDMK
31:44now inside the meeting we have got some very interesting
31:46information, first and foremost
31:48EPS wants to lead NDA
31:50alliance in Tamil Nadu
31:52EPS is still not okay
31:54with Annamalai and that's still a very important aspect
31:56over here because Annamalai openly said
31:58that both the Dravidian
32:00parties are corrupt
32:02in fact we have it on record where Annamalai
32:04clearly after the E-Road by-poll said
32:06that even AIDMK is indirectly
32:08corrupt and that's the reason EPS did not
32:10accept it and then he went ahead and he
32:12targeted the Netos of
32:14AIADMK itself
32:16this was the issue between EPS and
32:18Annamalai and right now it looks
32:20like he has gone ahead and complained
32:22with the main person and there is going to
32:24be repercussions out of this Pooja
32:26very interesting, so can they put
32:28any sort of competition
32:30differences aside because if AIADMK and BJP
32:32fight separately plus there are other
32:34parties, who will it eventually benefit
32:36if not the Dravidian Munitra Karagam
32:38thank you very much Pramod for the latest on that
32:40but this image clearly has caught
32:42everyone's attention, the speculation
32:44rife with the AIADMK and the BJP
32:46alliance possibly coming in
32:48for 2026 Tamil Nadu elections, it's generating
32:50a lot of buzz especially in
32:52the state of Tamil Nadu
32:54AIADMK General Secretary you see on your screen
32:56Edapadi K Palanisamy, Meeting Union
32:58Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi and then
33:00therefore the speculation if they will again
33:02from former allies revive
33:04their ties, but in a direct
33:06jibe at the Stalin led Tamil Nadu government
33:08Home Minister Amit Shah was speaking in the
33:10government and has taken a vow to
33:12end corruption in Tamil Nadu he says
33:14after the NDA's voted to government in 2026
33:16EPS also says their only
33:18enemy right now is the DMK
33:20the ruling party, so a potential
33:22partnership could mark a significant
33:24political move and could other
33:26parties join in this fold
34:10An incident of racism against a
34:18senior IAS officer in Kerala
34:20in God's own country
34:22what exactly happened and this remember has
34:24come from the horse's mouth
34:26a woman IAS officer claiming
34:28that she was mocked over her
34:30skin colour and
34:32that because she had a certain darker
34:34skin tone which is otherwise normal remember
34:36for all Indians, but
34:38Chief Secretary Sardar is
34:40revealing that there's a certain trauma
34:42she's been forced to face, she's taken
34:44to social media sites, remember this is unprecedented
34:46usually sitting IAS
34:48officers and that too a chief secretary
34:50it's one of the most senior most positions when it comes to
34:52bureaucracy for a state, revealing
34:54jibes by officials
34:56on her dark complexion
34:58labelled black, labelled dark she says
35:00she will embrace her skin tone
35:02but she's also
35:04shaming the haters in
35:06a new generation lingo she says
35:08I dig black, that basically
35:10I own it, I love it
35:12but it's a racism shocker that's
35:14raised a lot of questions
35:16you rise to the top bureaucratic
35:18position in your state
35:20in the country and then
35:22you have to face such incidents of racism
35:24Shibimol KG joins me for the
35:26latest on that, Shibimol tell us about
35:28more about this post because
35:30I don't think ever a chief secretary
35:32position holder has
35:34been taken to social media with such a
35:36personal unraveling of what
35:38happened and I'm curious
35:40who were targeting her
35:42for the dark skin tone
35:48Shibimol good morning
35:50can you hear me
35:52hello
35:56hello
35:58alright Shibimol if you can hear me
36:00what exactly was said
36:02in that facebook post and did she take names
36:04did she mention who was
36:06who were the ones possibly more than one
36:08harassing her, taunting
36:10her over a skin tone
36:12oh well
36:14Pooja Sharda
36:16chief secretary of Kerala
36:18has not taken any names
36:20but she points out two things, one is
36:22about her complexion, you know
36:24comments being made about her complexion
36:26the second is about the constant comparison
36:28with her predecessor who is also a husband
36:30Dr. V. Venu IAS
36:32she took over as the chief secretary of the state
36:34from her husband Dr. V. Venu IAS
36:36who served as the chief secretary before her
36:38and she says that the comment
36:40what made her write this was a comment
36:42that she heard yesterday that said that
36:44her stewardship has been
36:46as black as her husband's
36:48was white and she says that this is interesting
36:50and she felt that she needs to own
36:52a black and she says that
36:54in the last seven months of her
36:56being the chief secretary she was subjected
36:58to constant comparison with her husband's
37:00period, husband's time
37:02and also that also comes
37:04with the fact that she was a woman and she was
37:06targeted in that way and she says
37:08that over the last 50 years she's
37:10lived with this
37:12narrative that white is pretty
37:14and
37:16she needs to own a black is something that
37:18she realized later on in her point of life
37:20and she also points out that
37:22as a kid, as a four year old she has asked
37:24her mother if she can be put back in a womb
37:26you know, she can take birth
37:28again as all white and pretty but
37:30she says that all this narrative changed
37:32after she had her children who owned the
37:34black heritage who made her realize
37:36the beauty of this color
37:38the beauty of this complexion and black is black
37:40and she very clearly points
37:42out that I big black and black is
37:44beautiful, this is probably
37:46the first time you might be hearing from
37:48a chief secretary of a person
37:50holding a post as the highest bureaucracy
37:52heartbreaking, it's heartbreaking
37:54what you're telling us that for a woman
37:56who's reached the position that very
37:58few, very few do
38:00and very few women do and
38:02that to be only have such
38:04a narrative around her and in a state like
38:06Kerala and so
38:08it's come as a shocker but perhaps in
38:10many ways it's also interesting, remember because
38:12she's poured her heart out, it could
38:14inspire many others in case they're facing
38:16any sort of harassment that
38:18you have to go beyond it and you have to be
38:20able to own it and it's just
38:22one of the skin tone colors
38:24so appreciate her speaking up but
38:26it's a reminder that even in 2025
38:28someone like a chief secretary
38:30of a state, of a country
38:32is made to feel bad for her
38:34skin tone, absolutely unbelievable
38:44In Karnataka, the news
38:46coming in, DK Shivkumar Asad's case
38:48is going to be heard in the Supreme Court
38:50Sitaramaya government had
38:52stopped the CBI probe in the Asad's case
38:54but the BJP is claiming that this is
38:56shield for the DKS scam
38:58that moved the Supreme Court
39:00CBI had challenged the move for Lokayukta
39:02investigation, crucial hearing
39:04therefore is expected in the top court of the
39:06country over the Asad's case
39:08with regard to the deputy CM of Karnataka
39:10DK Shivkumar
39:12Sitaramaya government appeared to
39:14have stalled
39:16the investigation by
39:18the CBI in the Asad's case
39:20BJP had jumped on it, they had moved the Supreme
39:22Court saying this is a shield being
39:24given to DKS
39:28Sagai Raj joins me on the phone
39:30line for the latest on that
39:32Sagai, good morning, tell me more about
39:34how this matter has reached the top court
39:36and what is this Asad's case, remind us
39:48when
39:50this particular case was taken over
39:52by CBI and now
39:54the Karnataka government
39:56had taken a decision to withdraw the case
39:58from CBI and the independent body in Karnataka
40:00Lokayukta will investigate
40:02this particular case, challenge
40:04this particular move, BJP leader
40:06and MLA Vasanagara party
40:08has moved Karnataka High Court
40:10Karnataka High Court has pronounced the verdict in favour
40:12of DK Shivkumar, now
40:14both CBI as well as BJP
40:16MLA Vasanagara party
40:18has knocked the doors of Supreme Court
40:20where the case will be heard
40:22today in the apex court, alright keep
40:24tracking all the latest on this and
40:26it's very interesting, remember that how
40:28DK Shivkumar continues to
40:30be in controversy, this time a case
40:32in the court
40:40Is Karnataka BJP
40:42not far behind when it comes to rampant
40:44infighting for a
40:46state where they appear to be a united opposition
40:48but the BJP in Karnataka
40:50has show-caused 5 leaders
40:52the BJP high command has sent a
40:54show-cause to one of its, to 5
40:56of its own leaders in the state
40:58we are told it's Renuka Charya
41:00Harish Hebbar, Soma Shekhar
41:02among others
41:04why did it happen? because it
41:06appeared some of these opposition leaders appreciated
41:08Siddarmaya budget
41:103 were loyalists of BY Vijendra
41:12who is currently heading the party BJP unit
41:14among those who have received
41:16the show-caused notice, Vijendra Loyal
41:18was slammed by
41:20the rival Yatnal, so there's clearly an infighting
41:22that's been going on, remember
41:24there are several senior leaders in Karnataka
41:26BJP, there's a lot of ambition
41:28at play here, so here's what
41:30happened, Sagai Raj joins me for the latest
41:32on that Sagai, this is interesting
41:34so the top leadership
41:36of the BJP sending show-caused notice
41:38what does it mean? they'll have to reply
41:40on what?

44:04And we'll see what happens.
44:06We're in deep discussions with Russia and Ukraine.
44:11And I would say it's going well, but it's a very —
44:14it's a situation we should have never had
44:15to even think about.
44:17Should have never happened.
44:18And on the Middle East, that's been going on
44:21for a lot of years.
44:23Centuries and centuries.
44:25It just keeps going.
44:27And we are making a lot of progress,
44:29so that's all I can report.
