00:00The price of some types of fish, such as galunggong, has increased in some markets,
00:05according to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources of BIFAR.
00:08Expenses on delivery and transportation are increasing the price.
00:12As for the farmers, they are in trouble because they cannot buy rice from the National Food Authority.
00:18We have the first news from Bernadette Reyes.
00:23Despite the decreasing price of rice due to the maximum suggested yield price to the importers,
00:29it is still heavy in the budget.
00:32I mixed it to reduce the price of rice.
00:38It's Php 50 and Php 47.
00:41We are short of budget.
00:44We really need to buy lower prices so that we can afford everything we will buy.
00:50Since the maximum SRP was implemented, from Php 60 per kilo of rice,
00:56we can now buy rice for Php 49 or lower.
00:59But by March 31, the maximum SRP for imported rice will be Php 45 per kilo.
01:07In the meantime, the farmers are struggling.
01:11They cannot buy rice from the National Food Authority because their warehouses are full of rice.
01:17Malacanang said that they have already reached an agreement with the National Food Authority.
01:22There are farmers who have already reached an agreement with the National Food Authority.
01:27If the warehouses are short of rice, they will rent rice from the National Food Authority.
01:32All farmers will sell their rice.
01:34If they have a chance to wait for their turn, they will buy rice from the National Food Authority.
01:41We will not reject all farmers who will sell their rice.
01:46Recently, the NFA increased the buying price of rice to Php 24 for clean and dry rice.
01:52The NFA bought Php 19 for fresh rice.
01:56The price of fish, such as galunggong, increased to Php 400 per kilo.
02:01This is higher than during the close fishing season.
02:04The price of alumahan and tambacol also increased.
02:08The price is high now.
02:10People are forced to buy frozen fish because the price of frozen fish is low.
02:14The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources also noted the high price of some fish now.
02:19One of the possible reasons is the increased logistical costs in the whole supply chain of production.
02:28That would include fuel, as well as other relevant logistical needs like the rentals of delivery trucks.
02:39It is also said that the price of fish is more expensive in the so-called secondary markets.
02:44It means that the price fluctuates.
02:46That is the possible reason for the price fluctuation.
02:52The price of chicken is still high, ranging from Php 170 to Php 250 per kilo.
02:59This is the first news, Bernadette Reyes for GMA Integrated News.
