She’s an Oscar-winning actress today but as a child, acting was just her way to cope with panic attacks. This is the life of Emma Stone.

00:00It's always been about who I am individually, my choices.
00:04♪♪
00:16Awesome!
00:18♪♪
00:29♪♪
00:50I was 15 when I came out to L.A. to audition,
00:53so I don't think I was even, you know, cooking with all four burners there.
00:56I didn't know what sacrifice really meant,
01:00other than I was going to be homeschooled,
01:03and I was so excited because I was going to get to take the classes that I liked.
01:06♪♪
01:15It was so surreal.
01:17I was beside myself.
01:19I loved it so much.
01:21And also, that movie is so funny,
01:23and everybody got to improvise on it,
01:25and those guys and those people.
01:28I met my best friend on that movie,
01:30Martha, who plays Becca in the movie.
01:32I mean, that was such an incredible feeling, doing that.
01:38So, yeah, it's pretty magical.
01:40♪♪
01:57Seriously? It's like you're Photoshopped!
02:00♪♪
02:04Biggest thing that Emma's got going for her, among several things,
02:08is that she rides her instincts.
02:10Her instincts are really good, and she reacts.
02:13She doesn't act. She reacts.
02:15She'll be around for a long, long time.
02:17♪♪
02:46Just the best.
02:47I always say our first meeting, me and Emma and Octavia,
02:52we sat and we ate a meal for five hours and laughed hysterically.
02:58It was so much fun. It was just incredible.
03:01♪♪
03:22These lips can save lives
03:24by talking to all the women you love about cancer.
03:27♪♪
03:56♪♪
04:07What I would tell kids that are going through anxiety,
04:11which I have and can relate to, is that you're so normal.
04:17Everyone experiences a version of anxiety or worry in their lives,
04:22and maybe we go through it in a different or more intense way
04:26for longer periods of time, but it's not,
04:29there's nothing wrong with you.
04:31You feel deeply, and it's the best.
04:34♪♪
04:42I feel just, I don't know, lucky to be part of something
04:45that's so cinematic and beautiful and original and nostalgic
04:49all at the same time. I thought it was, yeah, really special.
04:52You could feel the energy of the theater lift while it was on,
04:59and then even while I was driving away,
05:01there were people dancing in the streets.
05:03♪♪
05:11Whoo!
05:13You guys see that?
05:17♪♪
05:29As it turns out, I am capable of much unpleasantness.
05:33You know, I didn't have to give Emma Stone any tips
05:35because on the very first day that I met her at the read-through
05:38where you read the entire script out, her accent was flawless.
05:41Really?
05:42Yeah, completely flawless.
05:43I worked on it before getting there,
05:45so she didn't need my help or anyone's help.
05:48♪♪
06:11I'm just getting started, though.
06:14Well, first off, I hope to be working,
06:17but then secondly, I'd really love to be producing.
06:20And comedy, I love comedy, but, you know,
06:23whatever happens, happens. We'll see.
