00:00I've got seven sisters and brothers, some made it and some who have not.
00:04The bottom line is what they taught and what they instilled in me each and every day is
00:08that hard work eventually pays off.
00:16He undermines our fundamental rights.
00:18He tramples on our rights and he tramples on the rights of vulnerable and marginalized
00:22populations in this state and in this country.
00:26And he's an illegitimate president.
00:30He's an illegitimate president.
01:00He's an illegitimate president.
01:16Let me be clear.
01:18You cannot pardon yourself out of corruption.
01:21I want to make sure that we close this pardon loophole so that this president doesn't
01:25pardon his friends for crimes committed in New York State.
01:29At a time when Special Prosecutor Mueller is under attack, when every day we read about
01:35scandals of corruption emanating from the tenant of the White House, the attorney general
01:40of the state of New York is uniquely positioned to be the leading force against the national
01:45threat to our fundamental rights.
01:53It's the attorney generals in this country who took down the Muslim ban.
01:57Muslim ban one, two, and three.
01:59It's the attorney generals in this country who took on this administration standing up
02:03for women and reproductive rights.
02:04It's the attorney generals who stood up against this administration on the environment, on
02:08the opioid crisis.
02:09And the list goes on and on and on.
02:11The law has been a tool for progress and inclusion in this nation.
02:15But every day we are reminded that there is no so much at stake and so much work left
02:21to do.
02:22Our crusade is incomplete.
02:24Our business is unfinished.
02:26We have a landscape yet to paint and a history of our own yet to create.
