President Trump vetoed a resolution to end U.S. involvement in Yemen's civil war on Tuesday. Here's a look at the United States' role in what the UN calls the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.
Transcript
00:30Salvation is used as a weapon of war by parties to the conflict in Yemen.
00:37Most of the Yemenis are still civilians.
00:39They didn't engage in the war as fighters.
00:42Thousands of schools have been destroyed, thousands.
00:45Many children now are used in the front lines of fighters as child soldiers.
01:05In spite of this, we are still considered a lucky family because we still not killed.
01:11That is really sad that many countries, instead of playing a very positive role to stop the
01:15war in Yemen, they decided to refuel the war in Yemen, to fuel the war in Yemen.
01:21First of all, they can stop fueling the war by selling weapons, countries like U.S., U.K.
01:25and France.
01:39Given the ongoing threats in the region, the United States will continue to increase our
01:43security cooperation with our GCC partners, including helping them improve their own capacity
01:49to defend themselves.
01:59The UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have pledged billions of dollars to aid the people of Syria
02:07and Yemen.
02:09And they are pursuing multiple avenues to ending Yemen's horrible, horrific civil war.
02:27They're buying hundreds of billions of dollars worth of things from this country.
02:32If I say we don't want to take your business, if I say we're going to cut it off, they will
02:37get the equipment, military equipment and other things from Russia and China.
