00:07and I feel like I walk in their light, and I also am creating my own light.
00:14And there are young women that will walk in the light
00:18that I'm continuing to shine and expand from those women before me.

01:58The types of questions I was asking John,
02:01it made him want to open up the world of his prep process as a director.

02:27I just am excited to be able to have two projects back-to-back that are so different.
02:33You know, just shows, you know, your ability as an actress.

04:33Music
04:43It's going to be tough, it's a challenge, but already, as soon as I walked off that stage,
04:48you'd be amazed how many people came up to me and said, whatever you need me to do to help you accomplish that, I'm here for you.

06:07Things that we were talking about in this film are things that have been prescient for black people, you know, far before 1964.
06:20And so I think it just, you know, one of those things like a nod from the universe, because there were really powder keg moments that were happening in 64, 63, 62, that, you know, we come full circle to this powder keg moment in 2020.
06:42So I just, I think as a team, we felt like this story that we felt was always going to be relevant.
06:53Now, there are even more people who are, whose minds are fertile and ready to receive the message, probably more open to receiving the message.
