00:00Two political analysts have dismissed a PAS campaign calling for voters from Kelantan,

00:07Terengganu and Kedah who are based in Selangor to help the party take over the state.

00:13The analysts described the initiative as pointless, saying that it was unlikely to succeed even

00:18if it gained traction.

00:21Akademi Nusantaras Azmi Hasan said a major flaw in PAS' plan was that these voters

00:26from Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah likely reside and work in Selangor's urban areas

00:32where Pakatan Harapan remains strong.

00:34He said most of the seats that PH and Barisan Nasional won with slim majorities in the last

00:39state election were located in the Malay heartlands in northern Selangor or city outskirts.

00:45Last week, Selangor PAS Commissioner Abhalim Tamuri called on PAS supporters from Kelantan,

00:51Terengganu and Kedah living in Selangor to take the necessary steps to vote in the state.

00:57University Technology Malaysia's Mazlan Ali also expects this campaign to be largely unsuccessful,

01:03saying only hardcore PAS supporters would follow through and change their voting addresses.

01:09He said a majority of the group would still want to vote in their respective hometowns

01:13due to strong sentimental ties with their home states.
