00:00On the afternoon of Wednesday, February 26th, we responded to Mall at Millennia, Tiffany's
00:10and Co. in reference to a commercial robbery, where an individual posing as an assistant
00:14for an NBA player had Tiffany select some very high-end jewelry and go into their VIP
00:19room, where he attempted to take a $575,000 ring and approximately $780,000 worth of earrings.
00:28He left the mall and got into a vehicle, which we later tracked down to Washington
00:35County, and we were able to notify the Florida Highway Patrol, and they tracked him there
00:41and were able to stop him.
00:43During that interaction, FHP had their own traffic charges on him.
00:47They noticed items in his mouth he was attempting to swallow, which a body scan at the Washington
00:53County Jail later found to be foreign objects suspected to be the Tiffany's earrings.
00:59Later, after the diamonds were expelled from his system, we were able to bring the diamonds
01:05to Tiffany's, where they were cleaned and where their master jeweler looked at the inscription
01:09or serial numbers on the diamonds and confirmed they were the very diamonds that were stolen
01:13on the 26th.
01:14I'm very proud of our team for all of our work.
01:19We acted quickly, diligently.
01:21We worked together tirelessly for days on end.
01:26This case quickly turned into a marathon, not a sprint, and everyone took the time out
01:32of their personal time, family time, other cases, and sacrificed that at the hospital
01:38waiting on this individual.
01:39Everybody did an excellent job in researching, recovery, and just making sure this happens
01:45as quickly as possible.
