00:00I have just requested that the Governor-General dissolve Parliament and call in an election
00:09for April 28th, and she has agreed.
00:16We are facing the most significant crisis of our lifetimes because of President Trump's
00:22unjustified trade actions and his threats to our sovereignty.
00:28Our response must be to build a strong economy and a more secure Canada.
00:34President Trump claims that Canada isn't a real country.
00:41He wants to break us so America can own us.
00:48We will not let that happen.
00:56I'm asking Canadians for a strong, positive mandate to deal with President Trump and to
01:03build a new Canadian economy that works for everyone.
01:07Because I know we need change, big change, positive change.
01:18He's been very blunt that he wants a weak Canada that he can target.
01:24And Liberals, after the lost Liberal decade, have made our economy and our country weaker
01:32and more divided, just like Trump wanted.
01:38Electing Liberals to a fourth term will weaken our country still.
01:42That is why we need to put Canada first for a change, with a new Conservative government
01:48that will axe taxes, unleash our resource production, build pipelines, secure our border,
01:55rebuild our armed forces, and stand up to Donald Trump from a position of strength.
02:13Donald Trump is showing us in real time what happens when billionaires and the people who
02:18work for them are in charge.
02:20Everything gets more expensive, rights get stripped away, and regular people are left
02:25to clean up the mess, while the wealthy walk away richer.
02:29We don't need that here in Canada.
02:31We don't need that at all.
02:33We all know that we're in for a rough road ahead.
02:35Things are already tough.
02:37And at the end of the day, only New Democrats will fight to make sure you don't pay the
02:42price when things get harder.
02:44I'm running in this election to fight for you, not the billionaires.
02:49New Democrats have a strong and proud record of getting things done.
02:53When prices skyrocketed, we fought for relief.
02:56When people were laid off, we fought for jobs and better support.
03:01When corporate greed ran wild, we went after the billionaires like Galen Westin, Elon Musk,
03:07and Jeff Bezos.
03:09Because when families are struggling, when your job and livelihood is on the line, when
03:14prices are soaring, New Democrats choose you, every time.
04:44I do not have the feeling that Quebeckers trust so much Mr. Poitiers.
05:00And I do not have the feeling that Quebeckers know so much about Mr. Carney.
05:07So if what they propose is good, they have nothing to fear.
05:12Because as we did in the last six years, we will support what is good for Quebec.
05:18And if something is not good for Quebec, what would be the point for Quebeckers to support
05:25somebody that will do something bad for Quebec?
05:29So I believe that I might not want to become Prime Minister of Canada, believe me, but
05:35I will be to be as strong a leader as I can.
05:40The role for the Green Party right now is to stand up for every single Canadian that's
05:45having a hard time because of politicians and career politicians standing up in front
05:51of them and consistently, constantly lying to them.
05:55We're not politicians.
05:56We're both people who have been to the front lines, have put our bodies on the line to
06:02fight for what we believe in.
06:04And at a time when values are diminished, at a time when politicians lie and equivocate,
06:09we tell it like it is.
06:11We're in danger.
06:12We're in danger of losing our planet.
06:14We're in danger of losing our country.
06:16And if we don't pull up our boots, we will face significant challenges.
06:23So that's what we stand for.
06:25We stand for a livable planet, a country that works, and communities that are strong and
06:30ready to face the challenges head on, but with open hearts.
06:35That's what we stand for.
