Nearly half of Canadians want to join the European Union — and the EU isn’t ruling it out. With Trump’s tariffs hitting Canada hard, support for closer ties with Europe is surging. A new poll shows more Canadians back EU membership than Brits support rejoining it. Could Canada actually become the EU’s 28th member? This surprising twist in global politics has people talking — and it might not be as far-fetched as it sounds. :Canada::sparkles::European_Union:

00:00Could Canada become Europe's 28th member? It might sound wild,
00:04but nearly half of Canadians are saying yes. A new poll reveals 46 percent of Canadians
00:10would support joining the European Union. Only 29 percent are against it, and the rest
00:16still on the fence. That's more pro-EU than the UK right now,
00:20and the UK used to be part of the EU. So why this sudden European love?
00:26Well, with Donald Trump joking about making Canada the 51st U.S. state,
00:30and now slapping tariffs on them, Canadians seem ready to look elsewhere for allies.
00:35And the EU isn't laughing it off. In fact, a European Commission spokesperson
00:40called the poll results an honor and didn't rule out the idea entirely.
00:44Here's the twist. While EU rules say European states can apply,
00:48the definition of European is surprisingly flexible. Remember, Cyprus joined in 2004,
00:55and it's not even in continental Europe. So, could the maple leaf fly next to the
01:00stars of the EU flag?
