00:00Hello, I'm here now.
00:03Oh, there you are, Mary.
00:04There you are.
00:06I'm here now.
00:07Hello.
00:08How are the two of you?
00:09Good.
00:10Great to see you.
00:11Great to see you.
00:12Congratulations on Ash.
00:13What a freaking wild, cool ride.
00:16And I wanted to hear, I think, first from Iza.
00:18I'm sorry if I just pronounced your name, by the way.
00:20Okay.
00:21What attracted you to the script?
00:24Like, what about this?
00:25And especially from coming from such an action background
00:28and taking on a role like this.
00:31Yeah, I mean, you said it.
00:33You watched the movie, right?
00:34So you know.
00:35It's a dream role.
00:36It's a character with so many layers, so many.
00:41It's truly the grit, the passion, the sort of faith, weirdly, that Rhea has.
00:50It's something that really touched me.
00:52She is faith.
00:56And it's, you know, when you get to meet a character the way that we meet Rhea,
01:00which is like a clean slate, it's someone that,
01:02for people that haven't watched the movie,
01:04it's a movie where it starts with she wakes up in a space base,
01:07and everyone's gone.
01:09Her whole crew has been brutally murdered.
01:11She's covered in injuries and bruises, and she doesn't know what's happened.
01:14And she's lost complete memory of who she is.
01:17And so that, as an actor, it sort of brings you back to being a kid.
01:22It brings you back to being a baby.
01:24It's sort of reintroducing everything all at once.
01:27But the soul, the dedication, was something that stayed with me.
01:33Like her motivation wasn't lost with the memories.
01:37And I thought, wow, this is a woman.
01:39And it has nothing to do with religion, but it was like a woman of faith.
01:43And when she has these conversations with Brian,
01:45even though everything has proven her that she shouldn't believe,
01:48she believes.
01:50And there's something very profound in that thought.
01:54It's incarnated in a horror sci-fi survival movie.
02:00But in the core of it, and why you have to care about the character,
02:04is because she has so much belief.
02:08And belief in what she's done, belief in why she's there,
02:12belief in what's coming next, and belief in herself.
02:16And I thought, wow, I was so inspired by her.
02:19I was like, I wouldn't survive.
02:21I wouldn't survive.
02:22I would have been like, peace.
02:24I'm out.
02:25I'm out.
02:26Bye.
02:27I give up.
02:28She just has this grit.
02:31And I was like, wow, I have to do this.
02:34I have to do this.
02:35That's amazing.
02:36And then, Aaron, playing Brian, opposite of that,
02:39what was the draw for you?
02:42And what was so interesting for you to play at this point?
02:44Oh, it's so easy.
02:46I mean, it was really Aza.
02:48You know, she's such a force of nature inside and out.
02:52I just absolutely adore her.
02:54I've known her for many years.
02:56She's a dear friend of mine.
02:58And so I was just hoping that the script was beautiful, right?
03:03And I loved it.
03:04I was hoping that she loved it.
03:06And then we both met with Fly Low, and we both fell in love with them.
03:10But to be able to witness Aza and her process,
03:15she just comes, like, guns blazing every single day.
03:22So, so passionate, so ready.
03:26You know what I mean?
03:27Like, you can tell before shooting,
03:30she has read this script at least 30 times.
03:33You know what I mean?
03:34She just knows every beat.
03:37She's not just learning the lines and kind of delivering a great performance.
03:41She gets this performance because she has done her homework,
03:45and she cares.
03:46You know what I mean?
03:47And so as a friend, a dear friend, and a fan of hers,
03:52it was cool to witness, just to kind of be a fly on the wall
03:56and watch how she gets to where she gets to.
04:00So that's always been a highlight for me, for sure.
04:03I'm blushing.
04:05That's so cool.
04:06What a cool experience.
04:08And I have to wrap up soon, but I did have to know,
04:10what was it like wearing the spacesuits that were designed in this?
04:13What was that like, wearing a helmet and all that outfit?
04:16What was it like?
04:18I mean, a dream come true.
04:19I mean, it's got to be, I mean, I'm a little biased,
04:22but it's got to be one of the coolest spacesuits in cinema history.
04:29You know what I mean?
04:30It really is.
04:31Yeah.
04:32It's a testament to Itor, our costume designer, and Steve.
04:36Yeah.
04:37Because Steve, you know, Stephen really thought of it.
04:40He was like, I mean, it was so beautiful.
04:43You know, I don't think people talk about enough
04:45about how this process is very childlike,
04:48and it brings out the kid in people, like filmmaking.
04:51Yeah.
04:52You see grown adults just geeking out of this drawing that I did.
04:57It's cool.
04:58So cool.
04:59It's like when you were a kid.
05:00You're like, yeah.
05:01And he's like showing us the design of the movie and the spacesuit,
05:05and I remember thinking, wow, this is so fucking cool.
05:09And it was a nightmare to put on.
05:12I'm not going to lie.
05:13It was a nightmare.
05:14It was.
05:15To put on.
05:16Yeah.
05:17Many movie pieces, but once Aaron and I were in it,
05:20I'm like, run, Aaron.
05:21I'm going to take a photo of you in there.
05:23It's just so cool.
05:24It is so cool.
05:26Like, you get to be like a spaceman.
05:28I know it sounds so silly, but like, you don't get to do that ever.
05:30So it's like so cool.
05:31It was all on one stage.
05:35So you have a space station and then the planet surrounded the space
05:40station.
05:41And so when it was all lit up.
05:43It felt like we were in the moon.
05:45We're running around.
05:47We were running around in the spacesuits.
05:49It's just, it's ridiculous that we, I mean, it's a lot of hard work.
05:53A lot goes into it,
05:54but the fact that we get to play around on that sort of level is in a
05:59space suit.
06:00It's just hilarious.
06:01Like that.
06:02That sounds like you're good again.
06:04Thank you. Thank you both so much. I have to wrap. I'm so sorry,
06:07but congratulations.
06:08It was a blast and I'm so glad it was a blast to make.
06:11It was so nice to meet you.
06:12Nice to meet you, Mary Beth.
06:14Thank you for your time.
06:15Bye.
