00:00Today was supposed to be the deadline for the visa review that was called for in the
00:05executive order.
00:06There is some indication that that deadline may have actually been extended.
00:11Can you shed any light on that?
00:13I can tell you that the deadline is now not today.
00:16I can't tell you the specifics, but don't expect that to be – that today is a day
00:22that something will have to come out.
00:24Of course, what we do know is that – what I can say to you is that the Department of
00:29State is committed to protecting our nation and its citizens by upholding the highest
00:33standards of national security and public safety through our visa process.
00:37As laid out by Trump's executive order, which is what initiated this dynamic, the
00:41visa adjudication process must ensure that U.S.-bound foreign travelers do not pose a
00:46threat to the national security and public safety of the United States.
00:51This was obviously a huge discussion on September 12th, 2001, and this is an issue that Americans
00:56care about and the nation's safety requires.
00:59The department, however, does not comment on internal deliberations or communications
01:04to the extent where at least I can tell you that the deadline is not today.
