00:00You know, Musk and his friends are busy going to war against working families and federal

00:12employees.

00:13And I want to say something, and I want you to think about this for a moment, take a deep

00:27breath and think about this.

00:28Right now, they're in the process, they want to lay off 83,000 employees at the Veterans

00:35Administration.

00:36Unbelievable.

00:37I mean, these are the people who put their lives on the line to defend us, and you got

00:46Trump and Musk wanting to significantly lower the quality of health care and other benefits

00:52that they receive.

00:53And they're going after Social Security.

01:00Some of you may have heard Trump talking about all of these millions of people, 200 years

01:06of age, getting Social Security.

01:08It's a lie.

01:09I know you will be shocked to hear that he lied, but what their goal is in doing that,

01:18in fact, well over 99%, including, according to the inspector general at Social Security,

01:25well over 99% of the benefits going out to people are going to people who earned those

01:30benefits.

01:31But you know why they are lying about Social Security?

01:32They want to destroy, they want to have the American people.

01:33They want to destroy.

01:34They want to have the American people lose confidence in Social Security and lose confidence

01:53that our government can work for them.

01:56And what these people really believe, they don't, some of them, people on top, do not

02:01believe in the concept of government.

02:05You know, back in the 19th century, the ruling class, the kings and the monarchs propagated

02:12the divine rights of kings.

02:15You remember that?

02:16They were authorized by God to rule.

02:19Well, let me tell you something, some of these guys, these big billionaire technocrats, think

02:28about it for a minute, they have the right, divine right, to rule us as well.

02:35So we got some news for them, we ain't going to be ruled by them, we believe in democracy.

02:44And let me mention something else, think about it for a minute, we are in the throes of a

02:57major technological revolution through artificial intelligence and robotics.

03:03Now I want you to think about this for a second, if Musk and his friends could summarily get

03:11rid of hundreds of thousands of federal employees, and by the way, do it illegally, okay, what

03:18do you think they are going to do in the private sector when artificial intelligence comes

03:25through?

03:26What they are going to say, hey, we got a machine, we got a computer that can do your

03:30job, thank you, you're out on the street, and by the way, we cut back on Medicaid, Social

03:36Security, and Medicare.

03:38So this is an issue we've got to watch.

03:44Technology, in my view, can be a very positive development if it is used to benefit ordinary

03:55people, not just the CEOs.

03:58And one of the pieces of legislation I introduced last year, and will introduce it again, is

04:10I said, you know what, if you have all of this new technology that is making working

04:15people more productive, why don't we reduce the work week to 32 hours with no loss of

04:23pay?

04:24Not a radical idea, it's taking place around the country, but here's the point, you've

04:35got this powerful technology, robotics, artificial intelligence, they're going to make the economy

04:41much more productive.

04:43We cannot allow the billionaire class alone to benefit from those changes in technology.

04:49So we are going to fight Trump and his oligarchic friends, we're going to take on their effort

05:03to move us to an authoritarian society.
