BMitch and JP discuss the media starting the narrative that Washington's season should be considered a failure if the Commanders don't make a run to the Super Bowl. The guys think that take is absolute nonsense.

00:00it's like the Fox Sports one
00:04show like the whatever one of
00:05their yellow shows is in the
00:06morning. Um I think it was
00:07that's whatever show it is. If
00:11the commanders don't get to a
00:12Super Bowl this year, it's a
00:14failure because they were in
00:15the NFC title game last year.
00:17That's just so patently
00:19incorrect. That's what I'm
00:20saying. You gotta realize who
00:21you're dealing with. T-Shawn
00:23has always said outlandish BS.
00:24Right. Getting there and get to
00:27where you got last year. A lot
00:28of great things have to work
00:29out but it doesn't automatically
00:31mean it's going to happen the
00:32next and that's what real
00:34people who talk real football
00:36and sports understand. You get
00:38there 1 year. It doesn't
00:39automatically mean you're going
00:40to next year. You gotta get
00:43better. You can't have a lot of
00:45injuries, you know, and you
00:46know how I am about the injury
00:47thing but that scares the hell
00:48out of me sometimes when a team
00:50go through the year, they don't
00:51have many. I'm worried about
00:52the next one because nine times
00:54out of ten in this league, you
00:55don't have complete health for
00:57year after year after year. It
00:59doesn't happen. Right. Yeah,
01:01dude. Every year is dude. Every
01:03year is its own entity. Every
01:05week is its own entity. Yeah.
01:07Like, you know what? Like in the
01:09NBA, you can pencil the nuggets
01:11in for they're a title
01:14contender because they have
01:15right because it's five players
01:17on the court. You got 53 dudes.
01:20You got 45 guys. You got
01:22legitimately 35 dudes playing at
01:25least half of your snaps every
01:27damn near every week. You have
01:29probably a seizing in the
01:31injury. If not a dude's out for
01:32a month, like it's just a
01:34constant evolution constant. So
01:37to surmise any one thing like to
01:39me, I got asked this on all
01:40years the other night be what
01:42should be reasonable
01:43expectations for Washington this
01:44year. My belief is when you land
01:47a quarterback when the Saints
01:49had Drew Brees when the Chargers
01:51had Phillip Rivers, right when
01:52you land a quarterback and I
01:54don't care about the rankings,
01:56right? Like I'm not saying he's
01:57top five. I'm not saying he's
01:58top eight wherever he lands
02:00Washington as a quarterback now
02:02and generally when you have a
02:03quarterback, you should be
02:05talking thinking about the
02:07divisional round of the playoff.
02:08There you go. Once you get
02:10there, who the hell knows what
02:11happens? There you go. But that
02:12should be your expectation.
02:13Yeah, but like man, listen, I've
02:15listened to so much Keishon
02:16shows him and him and Paul
02:19Pierce. Both of those dudes are
02:22trying to say the most the
02:23craziest thing they can say. I
02:25sit back, I look at it and then
02:27I realize, okay, Keishon came
02:29this league with a lot of
02:30expectations, right? Did he live
02:31up to him? No. Hell no. Those
02:33tequila shots. I don't want to
02:34hear that crap. Those tequila
02:35shots at Beverly Hills with Paul
02:36Pierce did you win though? I
02:37remember that.
