00:23I don't believe in healthcare, labor, and human dignity because I'm a Marxist.
00:28I believe it because I was a waitress, because I scrubbed toilets with my mom to go to school,
00:36because I worked double shifts to keep the lights on, and because on my worst day, I
00:42know what it feels like to feel left behind.
00:46And I know that we don't have to live like this anymore, Las Vegas.
00:51We deserve better than this, Las Vegas.
00:55And despite the chaos that surrounds us at the moment, I want you to know that we are
01:02closer to that world than we think.
01:06This isn't just about Republicans.
01:09We need a Democratic Party that fights harder for us, too.
01:14But what that means is that we, as a community, must choose and vote for Democrats and elected
01:30officials who know how to stand for the working class.
01:35Las Vegas, I want to tell you, I want to thank you for working hard to make that happen.
01:45You all put in the work out here.
01:47Your representative, Stephen Horsford, is a Culinary Union member.
01:53You did that.
01:54You did that.
01:56And it shows because last week, when other Democrats caved, your representatives, Stephen
02:04Horsford and Senator Jackie Rosen, stood strong against the pressure and gave faith
02:10and voted against the Republican funding bill that cuts billions from programs for the working
02:16class and for our veterans exposed to burn pits.
02:21Representative Susie Lee and every Nevada House Democrat voted no, too.
02:26So I want to thank you.
02:28Your state is putting its weight on this.
02:31And we need more like them with the courage to brawl for the working class.
02:39So we must defend them, but we can't stop there.
02:44I want you, thank you, I want you to look at every level of office around and support
02:51brawlers who fight because those are the ones who can actually win against Republicans.
02:58Let's be real about that.
