TheStreet Pro's Chris Versace explains what action the Fed might take moving forward.
Transcript
00:00With the Fed delivering no policy action, as the market widely expected,
00:05we now have to once again look forward and ask ourselves,
00:08what could the Fed do or not do in the coming months
00:13as it relates to further interest rate cuts?
00:16Now, the market has been expecting multiple rate cuts this year,
00:19but depending on the economic data that we get,
00:22whether it's about the speed of the economy,
00:24the rate of job creation,
00:27or inflation continuing to move in the wrong direction,
00:30the market may have to once again readjust its expectations for rate cuts.
00:36And to the extent that there's fewer rate cuts,
00:38well, that could upset the market.
00:40But any potential disruption we see, if you're prepared,
00:44could be an opportunity.
00:46You know, depending on the timing of the economic data,
00:49what we see about the speed of the economy,
00:51could we see a rate cut later this year?
00:54I think we could, but we've got a long way to go
00:57and a lot more data to get there.
