00:00President Zelensky asked for additional air defense systems to protect his civilians,
00:04particularly Patriot missile systems, and President Trump agreed to work with him to
00:08find what was available, particularly in Europe.
00:12President Zelensky was grateful for the President's leadership in this effort and reiterated his
00:16willingness to adopt a full ceasefire.
00:19President Trump also discussed Ukraine's electrical supply and nuclear power plants.
00:25Good afternoon, everybody.
00:29Yesterday, President Trump and Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky had a fantastic
00:33phone conversation.
00:35President Zelensky thanked President Trump for a productive start for the work of the
00:39Ukrainian and American teams in Jeddah on March 11th.
00:43The meeting of the senior officials from both nations significantly helped in moving toward
00:46ending the war.
00:48President Zelensky thanked President Trump for the support of the United States, especially
00:52the Javelin missiles that President Trump was first to provide in his efforts towards
00:56peace.
00:57The leaders agreed Ukraine and America will continue working together to bring about a
01:01real end to the war and that lasting peace under President Trump's leadership can be
01:06achieved.
01:08President Trump fully briefed President Zelensky on his conversation with Putin and the key
01:12issues discussed.
01:13They reviewed the situation in Kursk and agreed to share information closely between their
01:18defense staffs as the battlefield situation evolved.
01:22President Zelensky asked for additional air defense systems to protect his civilians,
01:26particularly Patriot missile systems, and President Trump agreed to work with him to
01:30find what was available, particularly in Europe.
01:33The two leaders also agreed on a partial ceasefire against energy.
01:38Technical teams will meet in Saudi Arabia in the coming days to discuss broadening the
01:42ceasefire to the Black Sea on the way to a full ceasefire.
01:46They agreed this could be the first step toward the full end of the war and ensuring security.
01:51President Zelensky was grateful for the President's leadership in this effort and reiterated his
01:55willingness to adopt a full ceasefire.
01:58President Trump also discussed Ukraine's electrical supply and nuclear power plants.
02:03He said that the United States could be very helpful in running those plants with its electricity
02:07and utility expertise.
02:09American ownership of those plants would be the best protection for that infrastructure
02:13and support for Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
02:16President Zelensky also thanked President Trump for continuing to push humanitarian
02:20concerns, including the exchange of prisoners of war.
02:24He noted they had just had a successful exchange and thanked the President for his leadership
02:28on that.
02:29President Trump also asked President Zelensky about the children who had gone missing from
02:33Ukraine during the war.
02:34The President's team of negotiators and national security experts will be heading to Saudi
02:39again later this week to continue working on and ironing out the details, but I would
02:43just like to emphasize we have never been this close to peace and it's only because
02:47of President Trump that we are here.
02:49I think a couple of years ago, as you all reported on the war, it was incomprehensible
02:54to have a partial ceasefire in this conflict, and today that is true because of the leadership
02:59of this President.
03:00Mary.
03:01You said you shared, agreed to share, closely share information between their defense staffs.
03:06Does that mean all intelligence sharing will continue, so the White House is rejecting
03:10Russia's request?
03:12Intelligence sharing in terms of defense for Ukraine will continue to be shared.
03:16Mary.
03:17Thanks, Caroline.
03:18On the call with Zelensky, did they discuss the minerals deal at all?
03:21Is that back on the table?
03:22And what do the Ukrainians have to do to get that back on the table?
03:25Again, I just provided a very lengthy readout of the call that was provided by the Secretary
03:30of State and the National Security Advisor.
03:33And now we have moved beyond the economic minerals deal.
03:36We are at a place of peace.
03:37We're at a partial ceasefire and we're moving towards a full ceasefire and a long-standing
03:42peace in this conflict.
03:43And that's great news for the American public.
03:45Remlin readout mentioned that Trump and Putin spoke about potential U.S.-Russia hockey games.
03:51Again, as for the readouts of the call, I would defer you to ours.
03:55And when it comes to the topic of hockey, it did come up.
03:59However, we're more interested in securing a peace deal than scheduling hockey games
04:02right now.
04:03Sean.
