00:00Tara Barrett is one of the most interesting people I've ever met.
00:08I've never written out so many bills in my life until I took over the farm.
00:12She decided to leave a very successful career in broadcasting and had a future.
00:18She put in her time and she left it to go back to the farm.
00:24I've never heard of this.
00:25I've never heard of someone going from the news desk to the tractor seat.
00:31It was really scary and it was really stressful.
00:34The one day I heard and she announced that she was going back to the farm and I says
00:38you're doing what?
00:39Her grandpa, now he'd be rolling that a woman's taking over the farm operation.
00:46So scared that I'm just going to have all these farmers in the area looking at me.
00:49She didn't know what she's doing.
00:50She's doing that wrong.
00:51She's doing this wrong.
00:53But there was something else I think that was working on Tara was love and I think it
00:58was love for her family to go back and work with her father and her mother side by side
01:04on a daily basis.
01:06Things all kind of changed when Tara's brother Corey got killed.
01:10When her dad passed away she took over and I thought oh my I thought oh she don't realize
01:16what she's getting into.
01:18People immediately asked like you know what are you guys going to do with the farm?
01:23And I was like well I'm taking it over.
01:25Like I remember telling people that at the visitation like I'm taking it over.
01:29It's kind of a rough card that she was dealt.
01:32She is running a business, having a multi-million dollar business.
01:36For chemicals and fertilizer $111,450.
01:41The ups and downs that life throws you, you know the people of character make it through
01:47and come out the other side and survive and thrive and she's thrived.
01:51She's overcame a lot of things.
01:53She's learned a lot.
01:54I think he would be I don't know surprised but not surprised you know what I mean?
