00:00The threat of Russia attacking the EU and NATO states from the territory of Belarus
00:06should be taken very seriously, Belarusian opposition leader Svetlana Tsikhanouskaya
00:11told Euronews, warning that it will depend on whether Ukraine's interests are sacrificed
00:16now.
00:17How do you assess this risk?
00:21I would take these threats very seriously, because while Lukashenko is in power, Belarusian
00:30land can be used as a launching pad for an attack again on Ukraine or on our western
00:36neighbours.
00:37It's not a problem for Lukashenko to serve Putin and give our land and infrastructure
00:43for the invasion.
00:45Until the regime is there, there will be constant threats to your security.
00:51We have to dismantle this regime, to get rid of Lukashenko, and in this case Belarus will
00:56not be the source of constant blackmailing with migrants, you know, a nuclear weapon
01:01or joint drills with the Russians.
01:05Do you think the risk of the possible invasion from the territory of Belarus towards NATO
01:11members, the Baltic states, could be coming as quickly as this year?
01:15Look, I can't predict this, because dictators are irrational.
01:20I understand that all the countries who want peace in our region, including the USA, not
01:28to provide long-lasting peace, it would allow Russian troops to withdraw, you know, to strengthen
01:37itself and to start invasion or blackmail with the invasion in the nearest future.
01:43So, on the fact how European Union together with hopefully the USA will act now, if they
01:53will not sacrifice with Ukrainian territories or with Ukrainian interests that will embolden
02:00Russians, so maybe it will not happen.
02:03But if solutions that we are taking now about Belarus, about Ukraine, that we are like ready,
02:08you know, to leave some territories under Russian influence, so it will show that the
02:16democratic world cannot answer decisively, that they accept that subjugation or invasion
02:23of other countries is possible and they don't have instruments, you know, to counter this,
02:29it might happen that they will not to the dose of European Union.
