00:00My name is Amber Tremaine and we are in Portsmouth at our office, we've got a little office now
00:10that we work from for a music project that we run. This is like a crazy journey really
00:16because I first went on TV in 2001 and 20 years later was my second performance on TV
00:25which was just after lockdown. So the first show was a show called This Is My Moment and
00:31then 20 years later it was I Can See Your Voice which was a really fun experience and
00:38just recently I took part in Britain's Got Talent season 18. I didn't have any intentions
00:47of doing anything like Britain's Got Talent or one of the kind of TV talent shows but
00:52I do have a lovely friend who encouraged me to do this and I suddenly sat and thought
00:58about it, I thought actually there's a win-win all round really because I felt like I'd reached
01:03a point in my life where I was really content with where I am musically and actually sometimes
01:10you feel like what's next, what's the next challenge, what can you do now that gives
01:16you that next focus and so really I had no reasons not to do it. So I got the call saying
01:23you know yeah we like you, we like what you've submitted and myself and my partner Cole we
01:29spoke about the benefits and actually if I had the opportunity to reach a worldwide audience
01:36why not? So that's why I did it. It was the most terrifying thing and we actually went
01:42up twice to the auditions which were held in Blackpool at Winter Gardens and the first
01:48time we went unfortunately something happened and the whole audition had to be rescheduled
01:55so we'd gone all that way and then we had to come all the way home again and it was
01:59just like oh you know very disappointing, maybe it's not the thing for me, maybe this
02:04is a sign you know you shouldn't do it and then I got the call that in four months time
02:09they're going to be rescheduling come back and there's this really terrifying moment
02:15in your life where you don't know how it's going to pan out so then you start overthinking
02:20everything like what you're going to wear, what you're going to sound like, you only
02:23get one shot, is this the right song, have I cut it enough, is my voice, I was ill so
02:28I was like you know is this even going to come across right and yeah it was a really
02:33amazing experience to be stood on the stage and then basically a few people knew it was
02:39my birthday, a few of the production team knew it was my birthday but the people, the
02:44judges and Ant & Dec, none of those people knew that it was my birthday but so basically
02:48what happened was I went out and I spoke to them, I told them who I was and what I was
02:54going to sing and then I sang my song and then Alicia Dixon asked how old are you and
02:59I told her that's when Ant & Dec found out how old I was so they were like ah we need
03:03to give her something and Simon Cowell started talking about me and my song and my birthday
03:11and then there was a ripple of happy birthdays starting like really far back in the theatre
03:17and so they all just stopped and just let it happen and then it turned into like a Mexican
03:22wave happy birthday, the whole theatre just started singing and it was really overwhelming
03:27and really lovely. I honestly didn't know how that was going to go because it doesn't
03:33matter how good you are or how talented you are, if you've only got three minutes to do
03:39it in anything can go wrong, anything can happen, you might just not like your song
03:43choice, you just don't know. I didn't even think about the buzzers going off, I didn't
03:51even think about it because I felt such a warmth in the room but you know getting through
03:58to the end and then realising that all four of them were stood up and the whole theatre
04:04was stood up, I've done some amazing gigs in my life but that genuinely took the wind
04:09out of my sails, I was like oh god you know I've just done that and then it's only when
04:14you leave and you realise oh no one pressed the get off the stage buzzer so it was a really
04:20nice feeling, it was beautiful to see them stood up as well. I'm happy with four yeses
04:26at the moment and who knows where it will take me.
