00:00I keep thinking this is all just a nightmare.
00:01I know.
00:02But it's not.
00:03No.
00:04Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the TV scenes and episodes
00:09that premiered between 2000 and 2009 that left us in tears.
00:14Some of these moments are crucial to the show's plot, so a spoiler alert is in effect.
00:19I had Seymour till he was three.
00:21That's when I knew him, and that's when I loved him.
00:25Number 10.
00:26Chuck Hurts Blair.
00:28Gossip Girl.
00:29While Chuck and Blair made a lovely couple by the end of the series,
00:32there were some moments shared between the two that were seriously difficult to watch.
00:36Come on, Blair.
00:39Stop it, Chuck!
00:41The scene that comes to mind for us is when Chuck drunkenly confronts Blair
00:45about her relationship with Louis.
00:47We see him break a glass wall that ends up cutting Blair,
00:52and it's a scene that establishes not only how aggressive and volatile Chuck can be,
00:57but how tumultuous their relationship is.
00:59She eventually forgives him and they move on,
01:02but we can't help but feel that that moment left her traumatized.
01:13Number 9.
01:14Denny Dies.
01:15Grey's Anatomy.
01:16Nothing can bring me peace, I've lost everything.
01:27If there's any TV show that's gotten us in our feels time and time again, it's this one.
01:32There have been countless heartbreaking moments involving medical mishaps
01:35or the deaths of beloved characters.
01:37Who wasn't a total mess when they learned that the disfigured patient in the hospital bed is George,
01:42and he dies shortly after.
01:44Oh God! Oh God!
01:46But it's Denny's death that we're not sure we can recover from.
01:50After finally receiving a heart transplant,
01:52it looks like he and Izzy can start their lives together,
01:55but he unexpectedly dies from a stroke in the hospital,
01:58and we still can't get the image of Izzy holding him out of our heads.
02:15Shonda Rhimes, give our hearts a break.
02:18Number 8.
02:19Jen's Video.
02:20Dawson's Creek.
02:22I'll be quick, I promise.
02:23Many series finales tug at our heartstrings,
02:26but this one has some especially painful moments.
02:28As if Jen hadn't been through enough in the early days of the show,
02:32in the finale, it's revealed that she's been diagnosed with a terminal illness.
02:36It has to be funny, otherwise I'm gonna get angry and bitter and I don't want to.
02:39Before she goes, she makes a video for her baby girl Amy,
02:43that moves us all to tears.
02:46Let's do this thing, you can turn it on.
02:48She expresses her love for Amy,
02:50and encourages her daughter to appreciate her life,
02:52and not take any moment for granted.
02:55Be sure to make mistakes.
02:58Make a lot of them.
03:00Because there's no better way to learn than to grow, all right?
03:07I want you to spend a lot of time at the ocean,
03:10because the ocean forces you to dream,
03:12and I insist that you, my girl, be a dreamer.
03:16Before tragically dying not long after.
03:19Seeing her pass away with her beloved Grams by her side,
03:22is the cherry on top of this sad Sunday,
03:24and everything about this storyline breaks our hearts.
03:28I'll see you soon, child.
03:36Soon.
03:37Number 7.
03:38Buffy's Mom Dies.
03:39Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
03:41Mom, mom, mom, mom.
03:44This scene was not only gut-wrenching,
03:46it was totally shocking and out of the blue.
03:48It's a nightmare scenario for any child,
03:51as Buffy finds her mom on the couch,
03:52after she passes away from a brain aneurysm.
03:55The scene is made even more chilling and realistic,
03:58by the fact that it's completely silent,
04:00with no background music, and hardly any spoken words.
04:05We got her.
04:06My God, we got her.
04:06Let's get her on the truck now.
04:07Call her in ahead.
04:09I've never brought one back this late.
04:11I'm here.
04:12The fallout is tremendously sad as well,
04:15as Buffy tells her sister the news,
04:17and everyone around her tries to process it,
04:19and eventually move on.
04:21But there's no one we feel worse for than Buffy,
04:24and we still can't watch this moment without getting teary-eyed.
04:27Was it sudden?
04:30What?
04:31Your mother.
04:34No.
04:36And yes, it's always sudden.
04:43Number six.
04:44Lily is taken back.
04:46Desperate Housewives.
04:47Who's the pretty girl?
04:50Oh, looks like it's daddy's turn.
04:52Any viewers who are parents,
04:53will always have a tough time watching this scene,
04:56as the heartbreak within it is unimaginable.
04:59After fertility struggles,
05:00and unsuccessful attempts at adoption,
05:02Gabby and Carlos finally get their chance at parenthood with Lily.
05:06While she's not officially adopted by them,
05:08they take her in and see her as their daughter.
05:11And when Lily's birth mother takes her back,
05:13it shatters their world.
05:15No, no, no, no!
05:16Gabby, wait!
05:17You!
05:19You don't even want to be a mother!
05:21Look, Frank quit using,
05:23and he got a good job down at the plant.
05:26He's really stepped up.
05:28So?
05:30Well, so we're gonna give the whole family thing a shot.
05:33Well, I'll totally give you all your money back.
05:35Seeing Gabby in her front yard watching her baby,
05:38and her chance at being a mother getting taken away,
05:41is soul-crushing.
05:42Dad, you don't understand.
05:43This is our baby!
05:45No, we've been feeding her!
05:48And we can't imagine a more hopeless feeling
05:50than the one Gabby experiences in this moment.
05:54Carlos, do something!
05:56No, you can't go!
05:57You can't!
05:58You can't take her!
05:59No, you can't take her!
06:01No!
06:03She's our baby!
06:05Number 5.
06:06Amber Dies.
06:07House.
06:08As far as unlikely and unexpected deaths go,
06:11this one might take the cake.
06:18You're in the hospital.
06:20I haven't won by a pass.
06:21After a car crash that temporarily claims House's memory,
06:25he forgets that his best friend's girlfriend, Amber,
06:27was also in the crash.
06:29Her kidneys were in turn damaged,
06:31and eventually House remembers that Amber was taking medication
06:34which her body can't filter due to kidney damage,
06:37which is why her organs are failing.
06:39Her death is inevitable.
06:41She's not the only one who has lost a kidney.
06:43She's also lost her mother.
06:44She's lost her father.
06:46She's lost her mother.
06:47She's lost her mother.
06:49And any chance at saving her is gone.
06:51The fallout of her death is as sad as her passing,
06:54as House is greatly responsible for this.
06:57You're dead.
06:59Everybody dies.
07:02Am I dead?
07:08And Wilson struggles to forgive him.
07:11The whole thing is truly heartbreaking.
07:194. Paul Dies.
07:268 Simple Rules.
07:32Any major character death in a TV series is sad to watch,
07:36but when that character dies because the actor playing them has died,
07:39it's unbearable.
07:41This was true in The Big Bang Theory,
07:43when the gang had to deal with Howard's mother's passing,
07:46but John Ritter's death was especially tough to stomach.
07:49He played Paul Hennessey, the patriarch of 8 Simple Rules,
07:53and his death on the show sends his whole family spiraling
07:56in both realistic and devastating ways.
07:59Watching them try to carry on as a family without him is difficult,
08:03and both the show and the real world suffer from this.
08:063. The School Tragedy.
08:091 Tree Hill.
08:11This episode just gets harder and harder to re-watch.
08:14Rather than picking a moment from this episode,
08:16we opted to include the episode in its entirety,
08:19as the whole thing is littered with devastating moments.
08:22LUCAS!
08:24LUCAS!
08:24LUCAS!
08:25LUCAS!
08:26LUCAS!
08:26LUCAS!
08:27LUCAS!
08:28LUCAS!
08:28LUCAS!
08:29LUCAS!
08:29LUCAS!
08:29LUCAS!
08:30LUCAS!
08:30LUCAS!
08:30LUCAS!
08:31LUCAS!
08:31LUCAS!
08:31LUCAS!
08:31LUCAS!
08:31LUCAS!
08:31LUCAS!
08:32LUCAS!
08:32LUCAS!
08:32LUCAS!
08:32LUCAS!
08:32with devastating moments.
08:34Lucas! Lucas!
08:37We see a mistreated student attempt revenge on his classmates
08:40by bringing a gun to school.
08:42And what transpires is definitely heartbreaking.
08:45Call my mother.
08:48Code red, code red.
08:50This is not a drill.
08:52All students to a designated lockdown area.
08:54This is a code red.
08:55From Peyton getting shot and then saved by Lucas
08:58to Hayley unknowingly locking herself in a room with a shooter.
09:02Don't.
09:06All the way to Dan shooting Keith in the last moments of the episode,
09:10our hearts can barely take any more by the time the credits roll.
09:13What happened to us?
09:17That we now send our children into the world like we send young men to war.
09:24Hoping for their safe return.
09:27Number two, Ben's funeral.
09:29Scrubs.
09:30Dr. Cox has had his fair share of tough moments.
09:33If I'm not here, people die.
09:35Like when he made a mistake that led to the death of three of his organ transplant patients.
09:39But we'll never forget Ben's shocking fate and the toll it has on Dr. Cox.
09:43Ben was a beloved character during his time on Scrubs,
09:46and throughout the episode in which the gang is planning to celebrate Jack's birthday,
09:50we see Ben alive and well.
09:52Guilt's a funny thing.
09:54It can lead to denial.
09:55Kid screwed up.
09:56He didn't.
09:57He told you he has way too many patients.
09:59He's swamped.
10:01The kid screwed up.
10:04But it's revealed that Ben has been dead all along,
10:07Dr. Cox was imagining him,
10:08and that they're actually going to his funeral rather than a birthday party.
10:12The rug was pulled out from under us in this episode, and we're still trying to recover.
10:17Where do you think we are?
10:19Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
10:23Marissa dies.
10:25The OC.
10:26Seeing her in Ryan's arms was equal parts shocking and saddening.
10:48I've seen this room and I've walked this floor.
10:54I used to live alone before I knew you.
11:01Final montage.
11:02Six feet under.
11:03Seeing the deaths of the main characters was a perfect ending for this show.
11:19Mark Green dies.
11:24ER.
11:25He spends time in Hawaii and makes amends through his final days, and it's gut-wrenching.
11:41Chandler and Monica's fertility problems.
11:43Friends.
11:44Watching them find out that they can't have kids is devastating.
11:48It means that we can keep trying,
11:51but there's a good chance this may never happen for us.
12:01Oh my god.
12:05I'm sorry.
12:06Charlie drowns.
12:07Lost.
12:08We were not prepared for Charlie's sacrifice.

12:44Seymour's fate.
12:46Futurama.
12:52We can handle plenty of sad moments involving humans,
12:55but when dogs are involved, we're powerless.
12:58That's my dog in there.
12:59It's an outrage, I say.
13:04I'm taking them home and I'd like to see anyone try and stop me.
13:08When Fry learns that his beloved canine companion Seymour
13:12lived for over a decade after he disappeared, he assumes that Seymour lived a happy life.
13:30However, the saddest montage ever shows us that that was not the case.
13:35Set to some seriously heartbreaking music, we see Seymour spending the rest of his life
13:40waiting outside the pizza place for Fry.
13:48There's never been a better, more loyal boy.
13:51And we've never cried so hard at a cartoon.
13:54Which of these scenes left you in a pool of tears?
