00:00Newly sown squash and bell peppers were wasted in Bukidnon.
00:04Because the prices are too low and they can't be transported to Manila,
00:08they were left behind.
00:10Here's the report from Bernadette Reyes.
00:15Newly sown bell peppers and squash were left behind on the side of the road in Libon, Bukidnon.
00:21The owner left them behind because, according to his employee,
00:25the prices are too low.
00:27The price of squash is only Php 6 per kilo, while bell pepper is Php 15 per kilo.
00:32That's why it's hard for them to recover the expenses.
00:35When they tried to travel, the owner said that there's no boat trip to Metro Manila.
00:40There's also no shipping because the warehouse is full.
00:43This information was given to the Department of Agriculture,
00:46but they refused to comment.
00:48In Valenzuela City, more than 80 families were affected by the local government's fishing.
00:55Some of them are defective.
00:57Some have no cells, so it's possible that the weight is not correct.
01:02If you have doubts about what you bought, you can countercheck with the local government.
01:08In New Marulas Market in Bisto, there's a surprise inspection of imported rice
01:13that is sold at the maximum suggested retail price of Php 49 per kilo.
01:18The gate that sells the rice...
01:21That is local rice.
01:23According to the DA, the inspector,
01:26our quota is not even Php 1,450.
01:31So if you calculate it, it's almost Php 100 more than ours.
01:35The Department of Agriculture will study if the so-called rice retailers are defective.
01:40There are rice that are exempted from the maximum SRP,
01:44such as local rice, Japanese rice, and brown rice.
