00:00Powerful storms killed dozens of people across several states over the weekend,

00:04including two boys in Transylvania County Sunday morning.

00:07News 13's Justin Berger is live in the studio tonight and Justin you were there

00:11yesterday and spoke with the mother of these two boys.

00:14Their mother Sharon was devastated and in shock as you can imagine.

00:20She told me about her boys 11 year old Joshua Levisca and 13 year old Josiah Levisca,

00:25sixth and seventh graders at Brevard Middle School.

00:28The Levisca family shared this photo.

00:30Take a look.

00:31The photo appears to show the boys near the front yard of their home.

00:35Sharon tells me Joshua and Josiah were great kids and

00:38both really enjoyed playing the flute.

00:41They were tragically killed when a tree fell into their bedroom around 3.30

00:45Sunday morning.

00:46It took fire crews close to three hours to recover their bodies.

00:51For the first time tonight, we're also hearing from Transylvania County schools.

00:54A statement reads in part, this is a tremendous loss for their family,

00:59friends and our school community.

01:01Transylvania County Schools is providing additional resources to support

01:05our students and staff during this difficult time.

01:08Information regarding a GoFundMe set up on behalf of the family is available on

01:12our website.

01:13Nearly 1,000 people have donated.

01:15The persons who set up the fund thanks an amazing community.
