South Wales Police have said they are investigating the disappearance of a woman from Adamsdown as murder after finding no evidence she is alive. Charlene Hobbs was last seen in July 2024, and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

00:19South Wales Police have said they have spoken to more than 250 people over the past 8 months
00:24to try and piece together the possible reasons she was missing, but with no one able to offer
00:28any information on her whereabouts or evidence that she is alive, police have decided to
00:33explore other avenues of her disappearance and believe she could be the victim of foul play.
00:38At the time of her disappearance, Ms Hobbs, who has a distinctive dragon tattoo on her
00:42back, was seen on CCTV in Morrison's Local in Adamstown on July 23rd. Her hair was in
00:47a bun and she was wearing a dark strapless top.
00:50Detective Chief Inspector Matt Powell said we have always been determined to find Charlene
00:54alive and return her to her family, but despite a huge number of inquiries we have no proof
00:59that Charlene is alive. We are now investigating her disappearance as murder.
01:05While they have always maintained an open mind, the lack of evidence that Charlene is
01:08alive means that they are now treating her disappearance as a murder investigation.
01:14He said that several people they spoke to in relation to her disappearance believed
01:18that she had died but could offer no evidence of the fact and there is hope that with a
01:22Crimestoppers reward of £20,000 for anyone with information that can lead to arrest and
01:27conviction of those responsible will lead to more information surfacing.
01:32Three people have been arrested in connection with Charlene Hobbs' disappearance, including
01:36a 45-year-old man who remains on police bail and a 43-year-old man and 38-year-old woman
01:42who were released without charge.
