00:00This game, by the way, is a convergence of PoE 2 and Dark Souls.
00:12I played it.
00:20Name? It's called No Rest for the Wicked.
00:25So it's perfect? Yeah, it was really fun.
00:26Hey everyone, I'm Thomas.
00:28And I'm Gennady. Welcome to our second Wicked Inside.
00:33Is it online? Yeah, I think you can play with people.
00:36I don't remember though.
00:53Yeah, I remember being here.
00:56I didn't do this.
00:58Oh, it's like a roguelite. Like Torgas, kind of.
01:29Wow.
01:35Oh, by the way, these are the same developers of Ori and the Wisps.
01:41I forgot the name.
01:42Ori and the Blind Forest or something like that.
01:44Yeah, these are the same developers.
01:47This legal process took time and we couldn't say much while it was all happening.
01:52But today, we're excited to announce that it's all done.
01:56And that Moon Studios is now fully independent.
01:58Wow, that's huge.
01:59This will give you even more confidence in our vision.
02:02Because we're free to build No Rest for the Wicked exactly how we want.
02:05Without needing to ever go silent again.
02:07We've used this extra time to create something truly special.
02:11Let's take a look at the breach.
02:13Okay, let's take it.
02:16The breach represents the biggest content update we have ever shipped.
02:25That's pretty big.
02:26We have heard you loud and clear.
02:27You wanted more out of our campaign.
02:30You wanted more story, more zones to play in, more enemies to fight,
02:34more bosses to test your mettle against.
02:37In short, more of everything.
02:41And that's like an upgraded version of the first boss.
02:44Holy shit.
02:46Our story continues immediately following Elsweyr's return to Sacrament.
02:49I think that the biggest point for a lot of people is that this game is isometric.
02:58So it can be hard to get used to.
03:01But I think that if you play the game, it's not as bad as you might think.
03:09He summons his daughter Odessa from her prison cell.
03:12The combat makes up for it.
03:14Reveals more about their relationship.
03:18I don't know a lot about the story at all.
03:23Take the upper passage out.
03:25Then leave by the northwest gate.
03:27What are you doing?
03:30God, Bennett is often sleeps on.
03:31It's way be rising.
03:32Yeah, I did.
03:32And the ramparts above him will be unmanned.
03:35Head north.
03:36I think the camera in this game is better than be rising.
03:40Anywhere but here.
03:43So that's it then.
03:48You have to go.
03:52As a Serum, players will have to venture forth into new areas we're introducing for the Breach.
03:58These are massive zones that essentially double the size of the world players got to explore so far.
04:04Wow.
04:06A lot has changed in the Zola Sacra since you've last visited.
04:09Looks good.
04:10Southeast of Sacrament lies the Lowland Meadows.
04:13A once idyllic haven used by Sacrament's hunters to gather food and supplies.
04:20Ellsworth requests our presence on a secret mission.
04:22But a faction known as the Harvesters has taken over the region.
04:28See, I told you the Serum would come.
04:31And here they are.
04:32He's at the base game.
04:32I remember him.
04:33Indeed.
04:34Your presence is welcome here.
04:36My friend is convinced that some threat awaits.
04:40Heard of this game.
04:40Yeah, this game.
04:42As always at Moon.
04:43It was pretty popular on release.
04:44Level design.
04:45We deliberately craft every single inch of our world by hand.
04:49We do not rely on any procedural generation.
04:52And we believe that ultimately that will allow us to create an insanely expansive,
04:56interactive open world where every inch actually matters.
05:01Yeah, I think they did a pretty good job at that.
05:03Especially in like the first zone.
05:04That was the place that I have like the most experience with.
05:08Is that in that first zone, it did feel kind of like Lordran.
05:12Where there are like a lot of nooks and crannies.
05:14Like Dark Souls 1, Lordran.
05:16Like the Undead Burg.
05:18It did have that kind of vibe to it.
05:20It was good.
05:26Throughout your journey through the meadows, you will encounter all new enemies.
05:30We have also introduced two new weapon archetypes.
05:33Gauntlets and Wands.
05:35Let's take a look at how these new weapons can be used to take down
05:38all new foes that you will encounter.
05:42The Timberwight here will try to take your life with his ginormous great axe.
05:47We know some of you already love being able to suplex enemies in Wicked.
05:53Oh shit!
05:54It was only appropriate we introduced a drop kick.
05:58Damn!
06:05Gotcha, bitch!
06:13Wyrmwood wretches and Limpseed archers will keep you on your toes with brutal rage attacks.
06:21Our Tremor Wave will make quick work of them.
06:26That's cool.
06:28Yeah, the animations are clean.
06:30Equipped with two huge saws,
06:32your best bet is to keep your distance and counter when you find an opening.
06:38That's the weapon I used, obviously.
06:40It's the big greatsword.
06:42It's really good.
06:44I would play magic in this game if I could.
06:49The orange bar is your magic.
06:50Study his movement patterns and keep a cool head.
06:55You might just prevail.
06:57It's like the godskin noble or apostle or something like that.
07:03Obviously, we're also introducing all new bosses for the breach.
07:07Oh!
07:07But we don't want to spoil everything just yet.
07:11We know a lot of you already enjoyed how much love and care
07:14we've received from our fans in the last few months.
07:17We know a lot of you already enjoyed how much love and care
07:20we're putting into all of these areas.
07:22Once again, we didn't shy away from really using verticality and hiding secrets everywhere.
07:27Yeah, the use of verticality and the camera being a little bit dynamic
07:31makes it like not as bad that it's isometric.
07:35Like, I would always prefer a game that's not isometric,
07:38but in terms of games that are, this is probably one of the least restrictive.
07:42Even though you'll often fight for your life in all of these zones,
07:46every now and then you'll get to enjoy a serene scene of beauty.
07:55Things have changed in Sacrament, too.
07:57Sacrament's the main city.
07:58...has arrived in town to plead for help, dealing with the blood.
08:01It's like a Firelink Shrine.
08:03...destroying his home of Merrin Village.
08:05Not really, it's more like Roundtable Home.
08:07Excuse me, is it true that you're a member of the Firelink Shrine?
08:11Is it true that Governor Ellsworth has already gone north with that magical?
08:16The guard said as much, but I wasn't sure.
08:21Many doors in Sacrament...
08:22Isometric is linear?
08:23No, it's not linear.
08:25And if you exit Sacrament through its northwestern gate,
08:28you will find yourself in the once majestic Merrin Woods.
08:32Recently, the Merrin Woods have been befallen by the Blight.
08:36It festered all throughout the woods,
08:38and players will have to find a way past it in order to advance.
08:44The Belek Taw are ferocious fighters.
08:47The Stalking Chehir knows how to wield a club,
08:50and if you're not careful, you might just call in reinforcements.
08:54If you're not careful, you might just call in reinforcements.
08:56If you're not careful, you might just call in reinforcements.
08:59Our new wands builds are surprisingly effective.
09:03We can cast ice darts to freeze our enemies.
09:07All right, let's see it.
09:10Cold Sling is a powerful ice ability.
09:12Oh, it's like a freeze bar.
09:16That's good.
09:20For the Heavy Feather, we'll use some more powerful spells our wands build.
09:25For the Heavy Feather, we'll use some more powerful spells our wands provide.
09:29We have since learned how to perform the Riven Twin's Plague Explosion.
09:35That's pretty cool.
09:40And if you have enough focus, Lightning Bolt makes quick work of any enemy.
09:49Damn.
09:50Yo, maybe I should play Magic in this game.
09:52Halfway through Merion Woods, you'll encounter Merion Village,
09:55a peaceful woodland community of Isola Sacra.
09:58Yeah.
10:01First traveler I've seen in ages.
10:03I'm amazed you made it to our village at all, stranger.
10:07Hardly anyone comes here anymore.
10:08Trumman, update's live.
10:10When does this come out?
10:11Ten thousand blessings, Serim, for returning us to ourselves.
10:16The villagers in Merion provide new services and sell different items than the ones in Sacrament.
10:26My clod of a cousin still hammering away in Sacrament.
10:30Figured they would have run him off by now.
10:32Chased them out of town with their crooked pitchforks and bent spears.
10:38Might as well give it here.
10:39In Merion, we will also meet Odessa's godmother,
10:42Irmgard, a connection to her Dasha heritage.
10:48I remember when my mother used to sing me to sleep.
10:53You did too.
10:55Same lullaby.
10:59Will I see you there?
11:01All of us at one table again.
11:03All of us at one table again.
11:10I'm not welcome in Sacrament.
11:12And in a return to the Nameless Pass, we'll explore new areas within it,
11:17learning more about the forces of the mainland.
11:22We will not tolerate any more doubt within your ranks, Primus.
11:27Not while we knock on salvation's door.
11:30A discipline takes time.
11:33It's earned, not bought.
11:35The born god disagrees.
11:38Discipline is forged.
11:40It is a tool molded in flame.
11:46Meanwhile, we'll continue the story of Madrigal Selene and her band.
11:49Yeah, this bitch was in the beginning of the game.
11:51Who seek to liberate the lost city of Caelum.
11:53Yep, she a crazy bitch.
11:55We're incredibly excited about this new chapter in our campaign.
11:59But we don't want to spoil everything just yet.
12:08Our intention for No Rest for the Wicked was always
12:11to provide players with an insane amount of content,
12:14even after they finish the campaign.
12:18After the events that unfold throughout the Breach,
12:20our Spilled Blood questline continues as any area within Isola Sacra
12:25can now be overtaken by the Pestilence.
12:28Yeah, that was one thing I was curious about too.
12:31It's kind of like Dragon's Dogma 1 or 2 with the unmoored world.
12:34You never encountered before in these areas.
12:42Defeat these enemies and they might just drop all new torn resources.
12:48So it's like better gear.
12:49Torn resources can be burned at any fire
12:52in order to further increase the challenge within an infected area.
12:57Oh, wow.
13:00You will need to heavily upgrade your gear
13:03and perfect your build in order to succeed.
13:07Or probably just play Magic.
13:10Damn.
13:11But greater challenge also means greater rewards.
13:15It's good that they're showing like high-end combat, right?
13:17And just like the early game shit.
13:20Notice that with every enemy you slayed,
13:22the Pestilence spread meter at the bottom of the screen reduces.
13:27Slay enough enemies and you will have to overcome only one more obstacle.
13:34Getting rid of the infection means ripping it out at its root.
13:40If you manage to defeat the plagued boss within the infected area,
13:43the entire zone will be cleansed of the Pestilence once more.
13:49Okay.
13:50Our life system has also gotten a huge update.
13:53You will now find many more factions
13:55being able to take over the various areas within Isola Sanctum.
14:01Our goal with all of this is to change the way players think
14:04about retroversal in video games.
14:06We ultimately want to make every return feel as fresh and as exciting
14:11as it was the first time you played.
14:14And as you can see,
14:16we also introduced entirely new levels within the areas you're already familiar with.
14:21Okay.
14:24So,
14:27in order to aid players in achieving the perfect build,
14:30we introduced quite a few changes that will make progression a whole lot more streamlined and fun.
14:37First off, we have revamped the way gear drops.
14:41We replaced the tiered approach and came up with a formula that takes the player level,
14:47the area level, and the enemy level into account,
14:50which results in an experience where any gear that drops
14:53will be approximately within your level range.
14:57Okay, that's probably good.
14:58Now, gear that used to only drop in earlier zones
15:01might just drop again, but at a higher level.
15:04We tried this out,
15:05and we ultimately see a much higher variety of gear throughout our playthroughs.
15:10We think it's a much more enjoyable looting experience.
15:15Yeah, this looks pretty good.
15:17Another big aspect that defines your build is, of course, the enchantments.
15:22So far, if your gear didn't drop with the enchantments you needed,
15:26your item would never reach its full potential.
15:29Yeah, it's like secondary stats.
15:34If an item dropped with less than maximum possible amount of enchantments,
15:38you can now use a fallen ember to add another random enchantment to it.
15:42This is like a fucking divine orb.
15:45Or not divine, exalted orb.
15:46And if you have an enchantment on one of your items that doesn't quite fit your playstyle,
15:51fallen embers can now be used to reroll that particular enchantment.
15:54Oh, wow.
15:55Of course, fallen embers are also still used for respeccing your character,
16:00which makes embers insanely valuable now.
16:03Okay.
16:04We also introduced a new weapon variety, Masterworks.
16:08Any Masterwork starts out as just a common item.
16:12If you decide to forego the RNG aspects of Wicked,
16:15you can bank on Gems in order to fully customize your item.
16:20Yeah, this is like new world crafting.
16:22Gems will now show you exactly what effect they'll have,
16:23depending on which item you slot them into.
16:28In our case, we want to craft a build that heavily relies on and synergizes with Focus.
16:35The benefit of common items is that we can completely customize them.
16:41Once we've fitted the maximum amount of Gems into them,
16:44they now become a Masterwork.
16:47Wow.
16:48In general, we've introduced a whole slew of new weapons, runes, and armor sets.
16:53We've also iterated on our list of enchantments in order to enable the creation of entirely new builds,
16:59while ridding ourselves of the old ones.
17:01Given that, and the new loot drop algorithm,
17:04the sky's the limit when it comes to build variety.
17:07Yeah, at least the characters look cool too.
17:10We also conducted a major balance pass on our stats,
17:14and we noticed that quite a lot of you didn't use shields all that much.
17:22So we changed the way they were used.
17:23We've now added a new weapon variety, Masterworks,
17:27so we changed the way they work.
17:35Instead of draining stamina, shields are now based around poise and stagger,
17:40and we tried to ensure that each shield archetype feels unique.
17:45So we can't wait to see all your new sword and board builds.
17:48The thing is though, he's taking damage, that's the problem.
17:51Last but not least, if you've become a master at playing No Rest for the Wicked,
17:59you should try our new hardcore characters.
18:04Permadeath is enabled for these, so once these characters die,
18:10they get downgraded to non-hardcore characters that can only be played on regular realms.
18:15Damn.
18:17I wonder who'll be the first player to slay the Echonite with a hardcore character.
18:23Yeah, that's like the last boss apparently in like the current game, I'm pretty sure.
18:33Naturally, we also spent quite some time introducing a wide range of quality of life features
18:39and polished up what we've played so far in No Rest for the Wicked.
18:43For example, we've noticed that a lot of your houses looked similar to this one.
18:48Yeah, sure.
18:49Storage has always been incredibly important in any ARPG.
18:54On our current live builds, players can stack all that many items,
18:57and sorting hasn't been ideal yet.
19:00Yeah, this is a big issue that a lot of games have.
19:02I think that every single game, like you should just have one storage chest
19:08that has pseudo-unlimited space.
19:13Having different things in different chests than having to min-max,
19:17or not min-max, micromanage between the different chests,
19:21is just not fun gameplay, in my opinion.
19:23Like, it's not fun in Valheim, it's not fun in Rust.
19:29In Rust, it makes more sense because the game's different, but I just don't like it.
19:37Let's switch over to our Breach update.
19:40How's this work?
19:41We fixed that right up,
19:42and now allow players to stack a whole lot more items within their chests.
19:45Thank god.
19:49And items now also get sorted in a beautiful way.
19:52Yeah, that's way better.
19:55While we're in our home, we can show off another cool feature we added.
20:01We've added Whisper Stones, which enable fast travel to and from your house.
20:07If you just want to quickly drop off items and gear while you're out and about,
20:11instead of having to first warp to Sacrament and then run to your home,
20:14you can now save that one step.
20:17Yeah, again, this is just super good quality of life improvement stuff.
20:24Remember that you can place one Whisper Stone per house,
20:27so if you own multiple ones, you can even fast travel between them.
20:31Our next change regards food cooldowns.
20:35We've removed the classic cooldowns entirely.
20:37Now you can consume meals instantly.
20:41Jesus Christ, look at that guy.
20:47However, your stomach is no longer a bottomless pit.
20:50You have a limited number of meals you can eat during combat.
20:54Okay.
20:55You'll be able to upgrade this limit through Plague Icarus,
20:57letting you extend how many times you can heal or buff yourself in battle.
21:02Okay.
21:04This new approach aims to make combat more engaging and dynamic,
21:08rather than forcing players to just wait for a timer.
21:14Yeah, I mean, I think that makes sense, right?
21:16Like, for example, if you're in the middle of a fight,
21:18and you have a limited number of meals you can eat during combat,
21:21yeah, I mean, I think that makes sense, right?
21:24Like, flasks? Yeah.
21:30We know timers and project wait times have been a major discussion point.
21:33Yeah, people complained about this a lot when the game first came out.
21:36We added new features so you can contribute food and ingredients
21:39to make Adanas's workers,
21:41speeding up whichever building project they're currently testing.
21:47We're always listening to your feedback,
21:49and we will keep iterating on the system.
21:51If you have thoughts, please keep sharing them.
21:57And of course, we've been hard at work meticulously optimizing performance.
22:02If you notice any poor performance in a machine before,
22:05the Breach update should drastically improve your experience.
22:12Speaking of improvements, our DLSS implementation has been updated to a newer version,
22:16which results in a much crisper image and even better performance.
22:21And these are just a few highlights.
22:23What game is this? It's No Rest for the Wicked.
22:2511,000 changes since we shipped the Crucible update.
22:33Before we dive deeper, we'd like to clarify how you'll access the Breach.
22:37You will need to replay No Rest for the Wicked to fully experience this update.
22:41All saves remain in the latest game.
22:42Yeah, so they're resetting the game.
22:44But this approach ensures the Breach is integrated as seamlessly as possible into the game.
22:50We realized this might be a surprise for some.
22:53Ultimately, the scope of the Breach and the underlying changes led us here.
22:57But don't worry, you'll discover plenty of fresh content,
23:00quests, and loot to make restarting your journey worthwhile.
23:11Let's discuss our roadmap next.
23:13It goes without saying that we will heavily support the Breach for the upcoming weeks after launch.
23:18You will once again see us react incredibly quickly to all of the feedback you guys might provide.
23:23But we're also already hard at work on our next content drops.
23:27We've received hundreds if not thousands of pleas begging for the Co-op update,
23:31and we know that our original roadmap...
23:33Yeah, that's what a lot of people want, is to be able to play with other people,
23:36especially in a game like this.
23:37...before the Breach.
23:39Yeah.
23:39Rest assured, it will be the next thing we launch after this update.
23:47The reason we ultimately decided to switch these updates
23:49was because we wanted people to have more content to play once Co-op releases.
23:55With the Breach update, there will be now a lot more content to explore with your friends.
24:00After the Co-op update, we'll be following up with more improvements and new systems.
24:05We'll expand Sacrament, improve housing, introduce farming, expand the Crucible,
24:10and of course, finish the campaign with more story and more quests and bosses.
24:16We're very much aware that a lot of you finally want to play No Rest for the Wicked
24:21on all major consoles.
24:22We have a ton of things planned to further improve on the foundation that we've laid so far,
24:27and we're excited to keep discussing all of these new releases and changes with you as we go along.
24:32Also, today marks the 10th anniversary of Ori.
24:36We released Ori in the Blind Forest on March 11th, 2015.
24:40It's been a wild ride for all of us here at Moon.
24:42So today, we'd like to use this opportunity to just say thank you.
24:48Thank you to all of our fans who have supported us the whole way through.
24:52We would not be where we are today without you.
24:55We're now hard at work on the final bug fixing and polishing stages
24:58of this massive update.
25:00We want to make sure we get it just right.
25:04But before we wrap up, there is one more thing,
25:07and this one is near and dear to our hearts.
25:09All right, let's see it.
25:11Hello everyone, I'm Gareth Coco.
25:14My story with Moon Studios began more than 15 years ago
25:17when I received a message on an internet forum from them
25:20asking me if I'd be interested in composing the music for a small indie project.
25:24So they just, they just recruited this guy off an internet forum?
25:27Four years later, that small project blossomed into Ori and the Blind Forest.
25:32Now, we were all very young and just getting started.
25:34So for our second release, Ori and the Will of the Wisps,
25:37we set out to perfect everything about the original
25:40and I couldn't be more proud of what we were able to create together.
25:44But our journey is not yet over.
25:47Yeah, I never played either of these games.
25:49I'm happy to announce that I've been hard at work
25:51crafting an unforgettable score for the story, the characters,
25:55the locations, and the boss fights of No Rest for the Wicked.
25:59And you will finally be able to hear some ambient music
26:01while out exploring in the world too.
26:04I can't wait to see where this journey leads us once again.
26:08It leaves me to invite you to experience the all-new music
26:11in No Rest for the Wicked with the Breach update,
26:15launching on April the 30th.
26:17April 30th.
26:17It will be well worth the wait.
26:19So it's a month and a half from now.
26:22Yeah, I'll probably play this in like, whenever it comes out.
26:25I'm just trying to decide, like, if I'm gonna play, uh,
26:27like, uh, Caster or, like, Big Sword.
26:32You know, I could also try and play a wall build.
26:35I'm not sure.
26:39Yeah, Big Sword.
26:40Yeah, I don't know yet.
26:41Uh, I think it might just depend on what weapons I get too.
26:45Double Halibardos.
26:46I don't think you can do the dual wield, go to the wall.
26:48Yeah.
26:49No, this was good.
26:50I, I was going to watch it.
26:51No, this was good.
26:52I, I was going to watch this.
26:54I just haven't really had time to.
26:55So I'm glad that I finally did.
26:56No, it looked good.
26:57I'll link you all the video.
26:59Uh, this looked really good.
27:00Game looks good, actually bought it.
27:01Yeah, yeah.
27:02No, it is, it's, it's fun, man.
27:04And, uh, let's see here.
27:06Money doesn't grow on trees.
27:07Yeah, yeah, I guess so, right?
27:09And, uh, but yeah, no, the game, I think it's like 20 bucks
27:12or something like that on Steam.
27:13I'm not really sure, but yeah, I will probably, uh,
27:16I'll probably play this whenever it comes out
27:17or at least like within a couple of days of it coming out for sure.
