00:00When I first met the Hadza, I immediately realized that they have something which all
00:24of us have lost, which is a true connection to the natural world and also to each other.
00:29They have a very egalitarian social fabric.
00:32When the idea of a film came out, the Hadza said that this needs to be big.
00:36We want the world to know about our story because for far too long, we have been portrayed
00:41in a way that we don't like, and also our story hasn't been heard.
00:46It's a great opportunity for us to be in front of people that can really support us, not
00:51just on the film side, but on a real change-making side.
00:54The Film Festival and the International Forum on Human Rights and its Impact Days program
00:59are a platform for directors and producers so that they can defend their work with fundraisers,
01:06but also and above all with committed actors concerned by the struggles in their films.
01:12As an impact producer, obviously we're working together with the Hadza primarily to understand
01:17what are their most urgent needs right now and how we can support already existing grassroots
01:23initiatives.
01:24They're very keen in preserving their language as well as preserving their habitat and making
01:29sure that they are telling their own story.
01:31This is really participatory film-making co-creation done in the right way and in not just the
01:37new way, but the only way we should do going forward, which is participatory, where the
01:42community invite us in, which is what's happened here, so that they have an international team
01:47to help get the story out.
01:48The FIFDH can really boost, it can give us a big boost, because not only can we continue
01:55to put partners around getting the filming done, but as important, this has always been
02:01an impact-first story, and finding the right partners to help us with the impact goals
02:06is at the heart of the film.
