00:57When my son was born, he was small.

01:00Asleep in his crib, he reminded me of an acorn,

01:03waiting until the spring would warm him from below

01:06and send him shooting toward the sky.

01:10When little Jack was nervous on his first day of school

01:13this year, he shared his father's medal of bravery

01:16with another little girl who was more scared than him.

01:20Little Jack never knew his father,

01:22but that day, finding his strength by helping someone else,

01:26I saw how much he'll grow up to be just like him,

01:30just as the miracle of insulin might help him grow up

01:33to be the fine young man he's meant to be.

01:37I know he'd also find his strength

01:39from being part of your study,

01:42and so on my son's behalf, I offer my consent.

01:46Who can say how life pushes up from darkness?

01:49What I know is that little Jack's spirit

01:52is pushing me forward,

01:54and I hope that together we can give him a chance

01:57to find his strength and offer it up to the sky.
