00:00Auburn very deserving of that number one overall seed. They
00:03are the one seed in the South region. Let's take a look at the
00:07bracket up there DRS as you look at the top half of where
00:11Auburn is in the South region. Frankly, I don't think the
00:14committee did the number one overall seed. Many, many favors
00:18up there you see a Louisville team, the ACC tournament title
00:21runner ups on the eight line seems like they were under
00:25seated and undervalued a Creighton team that finished
00:28runner up in the Big East tournament, a Michigan team that
00:32won the Big 10 tourney in Indianapolis, and a team that I
00:35have been in love with all year the champions out of the Big
00:38West, a 30 win basketball team, and Eric Owens, Triton's from
00:42UC San Diego to me, a difficult path for Auburn at the top of
00:47that South region.
00:47It is but it's doable to me because I take a look and say to
00:50myself, all right, you can start to knock some things down. How
00:52good is Creighton actually as a team? We're gonna find out in
00:55that eight nine battle, but also Louisville and the strength of
00:57the ACC. Are we giving them a little bit too much credit for
00:59having a great season where not that many teams which included
01:02Clemson, Louisville and Duke and everybody else in the ACC but
01:05understand this too. I think you're catching a little bit of
01:07break on the bottom of the bracket if you're Auburn, because
01:10Iowa State was one of those teams I really wanted to measure
01:12up by saying great guard play, great defense, tough conference
01:15let me go. Now we're hearing there are some injury issues
01:17with Iowa State, which sort of knocks them down a peg for me.
01:20I love Michigan State. I've said this before. They are tournament
01:23bound and they are a tournament team. And what I mean by that is
01:25not over relying on a three point shot, great head coach
01:28that knows how to get you in and out of timeouts to get the right
01:30play call and also playing great defense. And if you don't rely
01:33on the three point shot, you score inside. If your three
01:35point shot goes out, hey, we're only made two. Well, we usually
01:37make four a game. It's not that big of a deal. We usually make
01:39nine or 10 of those. So I do think that is an advantage for
01:42Auburn because you're not getting a team that's overhyped
01:45and over talented on the bottom side, you get a clean effort at
01:47a Michigan State. But for me, I look at Auburn's path and say, I
01:50believe it is doable. Because again, with Michigan, how good
01:53is Michigan? Is it the team that we saw running the table in
01:56the Big 10 in the championship? Or is it the same team, Ben, that
01:58we saw during the regular season, beatable on a night to
02:00night basis? We're not downplaying Michigan as a bad
02:02basketball team. But for me, I don't look at Auburn and be
02:04like, oh, no, I don't think they can get through the red because
02:07I haven't played Creighton and technically beating Michigan on
02:10the way to playing Michigan State in the Elite Eight before
02:12the Final Four. It's doable for them. I don't look at this and
02:14say this is a detriment to where they put them from the seed.
