US deports hundreds of immigrants despite court order barring the move

The Trump administration has transferred hundreds of immigrants to El Salvador even as a federal judge issued an order temporarily barring the deportations under an 18th-century wartime declaration targeting Venezuelan gang members, officials said Sunday.

00:39airplane and into waiting buses by officers in riot gear.
00:43The migrants were taken to the notorious Yakut facility, the centerpiece of Salvadoran President
00:49Nayib Bukele's push to pacify his once-violence-wrecked country through tough police measures and
00:57limits on basic rights.
00:59Meanwhile, the Venezuelan government in a statement Sunday rejected the use of the Trump's
01:03declaration of the alien enemies act, characterizing it as evocative of the darkest episodes in
01:09human history, from slavery to the horror of the Nazi concentration camps.
