Morgan Motor Company revealed its latest flagship model, the Supersport, in a livestreamed event hosted by British presenter Richard Hammond. With 70% of Supersport production expected to be exported, Morgan is reinforcing its presence in key international markets, particularly in Europe, Middle East and East Asia, where demand for its highly bespoke, hand-built vehicles remains strong. The company has built a loyal following for its distinctive blend of heritage craftsmanship and modern performance, and this latest launch marks a significant step in its global expansion.

Blending cutting-edge engineering with the marque’s signature handcrafted aesthetic, the Supersport delivers a refined yet exhilarating driving experience – launching at a time of growing uncertainty over the future of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles in the UK.

Amidst shifting automotive regulations, Morgan’s Managing Director, Matthew Hole, is calling on the UK government to provide clarity on the ICE ban, warning that continued uncertainty threatens investment, jobs, and the ability of companies like Morgan to plan for the future. With current legislation set to prevent the sale of pure-ICE vehicles in the UK by 2030, Hole is urging policymakers to address the industry’s concerns and provide clear guidance.

The new Supersport, crafted at Morgan’s Malvern facility, aligns with the company’s sustainability commitment. 95% of its parts are sourced within Britain, while its chassis and body are made from lightweight aluminium containing 60% recycled content. A zero-waste-to-landfill strategy is in place, and all leather used in the interior is a by-product of the food industry.

Designed for modern touring, the new model features a lightweight carbon composite hard top and a folding mohair soft top, offering two distinct driving experiences. A redesigned interior integrates Bluetooth connectivity, wireless charging, and an advanced Sennheiser audio system, elevating usability without compromising Morgan’s timeless aesthetic.

At the heart of the Supersport is a BMW B58 TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine, paired with a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox, optimized aerodynamics, and a refined chassis – reinforcing Morgan’s commitment to delivering pure driving enjoyment.

00:00So the unveiling of the Supersport today is a really defining point for Morgan.
00:05So this is a car that we've invested heavily in over the last few years and it sets us on a trajectory for future growth.
00:13And it's also for us to show the world that you can still build a relevant and modern car in 2025 using hand-built coach-built techniques.
00:24The reason why this is such a defining moment for Morgan is that this is our first flagship for 25 years.
00:30So this is really putting Morgan back on the map.
00:34And for the UK industry wide, it's an opportunity to show how craftsmanship and coach-building is still relevant in 2025.
00:42So Morgan balances its legacy with embracing innovation and sustainability.
00:47So for us, we use traditional methods of manufacture that in themselves and the materials that we're using are inherently sustainable.
00:55But also we embrace the coach-building aspects and nature of building cars and we infuse technology to make them more usable in 2025.
01:05So Morgan is evolving to compete on a global scale by enhancing all the technologies that are required by legislation all around the world.
01:13But we're still building the cars in the traditional way, building them by hand bespoke for every customer.
01:19This year, we see the most growth potential in the USA.
01:22So at the end of last year, we got homologated for the plus four across the United States and demand has been really, really strong in the first few months.
01:30So with the uncertainty around the ice span in the UK, it makes things really difficult for small manufacturers to map out their future.
01:38So what we're really looking for as manufacturers, particularly small manufacturers, is some certainty.
01:44So we know how to plan our budgets and how to plan our spending going forward.
01:48So when we look at policy going forward, it's really, really critical for us that we time introduction of new technology, such as electrified powertrains,
01:57in a way that small manufacturers like ourselves can accommodate them.
02:01So for us, that means allowing the larger manufacturers in the world to introduce that technology and then subsequently for us to be on a timeline that lags that by a few years.
02:11So with the Supersport, we want to make the most usable and the most dynamic vehicle that we've ever built in our history.
02:18So for us, it's really, really important that the cars can be used all year round, which is a marked difference because Morgan has historically been used more so over the summer.
02:28So this is a car that is designed to be used throughout the year.
