00:24People on the outside. I really don't think they realize how tricky this a race like that is
00:29Especially when you're racing at the front and you you know
00:31When you got a bit of a margin is you can relax you can get into a really nice rhythm
00:35But like the last three laps there was stressful start was fun
00:39after that, I think I tried to stay with the McLaren's but
00:43yeah, like I've basically every other team we just take too hard and we overheat our tires and
00:50Then the McLaren's just take off and yeah, I gave it my all
00:53But I don't because at one point they really just took off. I tried to just focus on my own race
00:58But then of course the weather just started to play up again and it was very difficult out there with the slicks when it started

01:04Yeah, we tried of course something else it was about to work out
01:08But yeah, I can't say the radar of course of when how the weather is moving in
01:12But even if we would have pitted with them a lap later or the lap that I pitted it would have always been p2
01:18Anyway, you know, so it didn't really matter but it was fun to try and do something different
01:22Yeah, very pleased to to come home in p3 not an easy race for
01:26for anyone and just keeping it on on the road was was a
01:31Handful in it in itself. But yeah, it's pretty happy with a podium super happy
01:35You know the the team did a great job
01:37I was happy also I managed even though you know
01:40I did a couple of mistakes which costed me a bit of time, especially with the spin
01:44But I have to say condition were super super tricky
01:47But otherwise really happy the team guided me really well throughout the whole race and
01:53Yeah, now looking forward to China feels a bit mellow in some ways because it was such a crazy race

01:59Fantastic for the team. First of all great strategy. I have to say Charles our strategist did a great job
02:05I didn't agree with his cool cool to put me in the pits
02:10The track was bone-dry in sector one and two when I when I came out but it was the right calling
02:16Just really happy for everyone

02:21Had to stay on track and keep it clean and you know, we did that today
02:25So happy to pick up six, we didn't see that coming for the first half of the race. It wasn't looking too good
02:31But then you know things got a bit obviously a bit more
02:35Yeah, entertaining towards the end. We made some good calls
02:37I think other people were struggling obviously and you know, we we picked up the pieces and yeah, but we're there when it mattered
02:43So very happy big part of the race. We thought p5 was secured and then obviously the rain arrived and then everything changed
02:52The first one to blame is my is myself after the mistake I've done exiting turn 11
02:58We lost three or four positions there, which was then very difficult to recover
03:03We overtook one or two guys on track
03:05But then we were a bit too late for the pit stop and then we lost a few other positions
03:11It's been a tricky day obviously a mistake for myself, but
03:17Yeah, I think for it to have the consequences it did was
03:21a little bit unfortunate, so
03:25yeah, obviously, I've only got my myself to blame tried to push too much in those conditions, but
03:32Yeah the other
03:3656 and three-quarter laps were
03:39Were very strong at least I got one point, but I did I get a point I don't have a point so yeah
03:48But yeah overall not what I was hoping for
03:52But I was there was so much to get
03:55Accustomed to get used to with all the switch settings changes that they were throwing at you and and then not just the balance of
04:01The car it was really very very tricky really really tricky today
04:03So definitely I think we can improve that in the next race. Hopefully and
04:09Get the car in a sweeter spot
04:11Because I think there's a lot more potential in the car than then what we were able to extract today
04:15We thought we were doing the right choices by staying out in those very tricky conditions
04:21Yeah, so I think we were running
04:24top three like in this extra laps who were doing and I
04:28Could see like pretty much every three four corners a car off
04:32So I really thought okay as long as we keep it on in between the white lines will be fine. I managed to overtake Yuki and
04:41Yeah, I've done whatever I could done and
04:44Yeah, just whether I didn't come towards to us and the timing and everything, you know, and suddenly I dropped to p11
04:52After safety car or after safety car after I rejoined to the track
04:56so timing everything was a didn't go towards the towards us and
05:00Definitely very very shame that I we didn't score points. It's really the performance, you know that we missed out on this race
05:08If we had a little bit more we could have been in the mix for points
05:12You know, the cars were fighting in front. I was just there
05:16There was two or three position for me to get inside the top ten
05:20But yeah, I just couldn't keep up. Unfortunately, I was quite happy with my performance. I felt like I executed pretty well
05:27There are a few things where we lost a bit of time, but you know when we're not fighting for the points
05:31That's really the time to try things and it didn't work out
05:35We took a chance to be honest hoping it at least half the track would stay dry. We knew that sector three was bad
05:42but
05:43we thought that sector one would say a little bit drier so we carried on and
05:48Yeah, unfortunately, it was
05:50buckling down with rain, so
05:52Yeah at that point to be honest
05:53I'd backed out of sort of pushing at that point because it was so weird
05:56I was just trying to stay on track, but yeah, obviously
06:00Not ideal before the incident was going very well with what we had
06:05We got some unlucky things, you know
06:07Like when we went to the peaks pits and we went back we had a safety car coming in just in front of me
06:11So I could when I when I was able to unlock myself
06:15I couldn't get to the packers. I just had one lap to two on lap. So basically I restarted the race very much
06:22in the back
06:24Tried to recover a bit there. Unfortunately touch touch the curb and ended up in the wall
06:31It's a shame. I'm sorry for the team. And yeah, the incident came from nowhere to be honest
06:35I was a little bit surprised about losing the car. I was not wider than any other lap
06:40I just found a lot of gravel and stuck there in the middle of the circuit and then I
06:45Spun so yeah very costly
06:48Incident but yeah, I don't know really what to do different
06:53Let's try to analyze it a little bit better. I think it's a little bit unlucky incident, but
06:59Yeah, obviously not the way you want to start the year and and a bit of a unfortunate situation, but we move on
07:07Not the first race we wanted but at the same time
07:10I'm quick. I feel comfortable in the car and now we need to keep the year started
07:14It didn't really understand what happened to be honest till I like a back just looking at it. Whether it was a white line
07:21Inters not at the temperature just seemed as I upshifted the fourth
