Thank you to all of you subscribers out there for quite frankly, making all this possible! We can’t wait to make more content for you guys over the coming months (and years) - next up, 2 videos we filmed in Malaysia!!

HELLO FRIENDS and welcome to another video!! This week we are going to be showing you guys the ins ands outs of our entire renovation process for our new studio/office!! We have been haphazardly running around like chickens with our heads cut off for the last (8) years - and so we finally decided it was time to attempt to make our dream studio/office. And because we are huge fans of HGTV-style renovation content, we decided to renovate an old warehouse from top to bottom and document the entire process (also top to bottom). We may have bitten off more than we could chew - but we are pretty happy with how it turned out! What do you guys think of our new studio?

A big thank you to Rove Concepts for gifting us a variety of awesome furniture pieces for our studio! You can check them out here: #gifted

00:00Hello, friends, and welcome to another video.
00:08This week, we're gonna be showing you the whole process of how we renovated an old garage
00:12into our new studio slash office.
00:15It's been a very, very long ride.
00:17Now Tyler and I have lived and worked and ran this channel from a variety of different
00:21spaces over the years, from our apartment in Hollywood, to our weird glass box on the
00:26to our COVID house, and since our relocation to Raleigh, we have mostly been living and
00:31working out of like those semi-corporate yuppie apartments.
00:34And though we have enjoyed pretty much every place we've worked out of, at least a little,
00:38it's always been a bit of a thatched-together, fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants situation.
00:42But it has always been a dream of ours to have a dedicated office and studio space that
00:46we could work and film out of that was actually meant for us and that we didn't also live
00:51in or that wasn't definitely temporary.
00:53And so we decided to renovate an old garage into a hybrid studio slash office space.
00:58Well, not just any hybrid studio slash office, but our dream studio slash office.
01:04And since we love HGTV-style renovation content, we attempted to film a renovation video to
01:09document the process from start to finish.
01:11I can't say we nailed it, but I did sledgehammer a wall Demo Day style.
01:15So that's at least one bucket list item, a check.
01:18Really quick, a big shout out to Rove Concepts, who gave us a lot of amazing furniture pieces
01:22for our office, which we will point out later in the video when we get to the reveal portions,
01:26as well as a shout out to Uplift for providing us with a fleet of standing desks for our
01:30team.
01:31And also a big thank you to our construction partners in this project, Clearscapes, who
01:35are the architects who designed our new studio, Gateway Building Company, who actually built
01:39the building, and then designers Rebecca Dahman and Molly Earles, who helped us get our interior
01:43design to the finish line.
01:45Okay, so with that, back to the beginning.
01:48So first things first, we had to actually find a space that could fit the vision for
01:52our studio.
01:53I'll spare you guys the gory details of the search, because it did not happen fast, as
01:57we spent several months poking around, looking at different options, failing a couple times
02:01to get a few places, all the while wistfully filling our pinboards with cool alternative
02:06warehouse designs.
02:07But after almost a year of searching, we lucked out and finally found a place that was just
02:12right.
02:13Big, empty, and basically a boxy blank canvas.
02:15Woo!
02:16Woo!
02:17Woo!
02:18Woo!
02:19Gotta work on the acoustics.
02:22Now having a fully stacked Pinterest board was nice, but to turn this big empty box into
02:26our dream studio, we needed some serious professional help.
02:30And that's where Clearscapes comes in, who were the architects behind several really
02:33cool projects around Raleigh, all of which had that sort of industrial warehouse meets
02:37alternative business vibe.
02:39So frankly, dream architects, a check.
02:42And beyond agreeing to design our space, they also helped us assemble a team of contractors,
02:46engineers, sound consultants, electricians, and more.
02:49So we had any idea of how to get started.
02:51We've got a lot of stuff to do.
02:53Yeah, we really do.
02:55Yeah.
02:56It's not quite there.
02:57There's a little bit of work to do.
02:59Yeah.
03:00Just a little bit.
03:01I'll get the sledgehammer.
03:02Now, just so you guys understand the before or starting point of our warehouse, let's
03:06do a quick walkthrough.
03:07All right, here's our official before vlog.
03:11They did start demoing today, so it's not completely before.
03:16They're doing it right now.
03:17That's them demoing.
03:19It was, as we mentioned, mostly a big empty hangar with some stuff at the front, with
03:23a few rooms downstairs and upstairs.
03:25But what's not obvious is that there is another suite slash office kind of carved into the
03:29warehouse itself, like a little divot.
03:31Do you guys see that like block that like jumps out into the space?
03:36It's that.
03:37That we are going to have to deal with.
03:38It also has a downstairs and an upstairs.
03:41And there are some rooms in here that Amy, our architect, is like legitimately freaked
03:45out by.
03:46They lock one way.
03:47Oh, okay.
03:48And they're only from the outside.
03:49And they have smudges against the wall.
03:50They're kind of like saw rooms.
03:51Added to the vibes was the fact that we had already started a little bit of demo on this
03:55side.
03:56So there was some dust and hanging wires and that the power was already off.
03:59Ah, yes.
04:00The hellish iPhone flash.
04:02Which made all of our footage over here look a little Blair Witchy.
04:05We're trying to get some B-roll.
04:07There is some dust floating through the air.
04:10So I think that adds to its terrifying nature.
04:12But don't worry.
04:13We're going to take care of it.
04:14More on that later.
04:15Back over in the main part of the building, on the first floor, there's an entryway office
04:19and some bathrooms near the front.
04:21They took the actual toilets away today.
04:24I saw them dragging them off.
04:26So there are no toilets in there, but there are two bathrooms.
04:28And then you cross the threshold into the big empty back bay.
04:32If you look back towards the front, you can see the current upstairs, which is just one
04:36long storage room up there.
04:38And then in the way, way back of the hangar, there's a wall that divides the bay from a
04:42little more bay.
04:43It's a little bit dark right now, but I have some B-roll of it.
04:46And then back here is a bathroom.
04:49Yeah.
04:50In which there are naked biker chicks.
04:52Yeah.
04:53It's...
04:54I picked those out myself.
04:55So now that we've gotten the lay of the land.
04:57Wow.
04:58There you have it, folks.
04:59To the clear escapes offices we go.
05:01Now, actually, the general idea of the current layout of the warehouse suited our needs pretty
05:07well.
05:08So we're going to kind of stick with the sort of rooms in the front, wide open bay in the
05:11back idea.
05:12So like, almost like this sort of line here works.
05:16Though obviously still changing a fair amount of things and giving everything a serious
05:20facelift.
05:21That wall's going to be gone.
05:23That wall's going to be gone.
05:24The front is actually going to go.
05:26The left wall is going to go.
05:27I think the wall is going to be closer.
05:29I don't know.
05:30It's going to be very different.
05:31First order of business, we are going to be getting rid of the other suite entirely so
05:35we can resorb its space in the floor plan.
05:37So that's all going.
05:38And it sounds like they're about to break the wall.
05:42And for our rooms in the front here, besides just general office space, we do have some
05:46specific needs.
05:47Tell me more about what else needs to fit on this ground floor.
05:51Even though we don't really need a specific lobby or reception area, we are going to want
05:55to do some kind of entryway and we're definitely going to want some kind of mail room up front
06:00because historically we've had a lot of problems with package buildup as well as filming props
06:05just generally taking over.
06:07And then we also have a desire for some kind of costume storage, maybe an area to display
06:11some jumpy items and then an area to store the rest.
06:15Super nice closet.
06:16I'd say you could film in there.
06:17Yeah, that'd be great.
06:18Just to finally centralize all of our outfits from previous videos in one place.
06:22We also definitely want some kind of kitchenette slash break room area downstairs and then
06:27some bathrooms to replace the ones that got carted off.
06:30And after puzzle piecing these ideas around a little bit, we decided that if we put the
06:34bathrooms in the middle, we could build all of these rooms around it with some facing
06:38the front of the building and some facing the open back hanger space.
06:42Then for our need for some office-y rooms, our plan was to go with the mezzanine idea
06:46in place.
06:47Like the stairwell can still exist and then we have almost like this mezzanine, right?
06:52Maybe it goes to here, maybe it goes further out.
06:54To create an open office slash meeting slash conference area on like a sort of terrace.
06:59And those, I'll like be able to like overlook out into this bay when production's happening.
07:05It's kind of fun.
07:06And then also up there, create a few enclosed editing slash work.
07:10I'm trying to find a better word than cave.
07:13Cuppy?
07:14Cocoon?
07:15Oh yeah, sure.
07:16But yes, for post-production, you do generally want a vaguely cave-like atmosphere.
07:19This looks like a meditating room to me.
07:23Is there a sandwich on the other side?
07:25Now as for the giant back bay area, we generally love it almost as is and plan to use all this
07:31space for filming.
07:32That wall back there is gonna go, so it'll be even bigger.
07:36So for now, we're gonna keep it pretty open.
07:38With the idea that down the line, we could build some more legit static sets like a kitchen
07:42set or a bathroom set or a Franken-melting lab, but that's a whole other project we aren't
07:47gonna be tackling just yet.
07:48The only thing is that we are gonna have to figure out how to sound dead in the whole
07:52space.
07:53Because right now, it's sort of like a drafty box.
07:56Yes.
07:57Right?
07:58Drafty.
07:59It's a drafty box.
08:00So we'll work on that.
08:01But our first step in all of this, which is already slightly started, is demoing.
08:05Holy shiz, she's a goner.
08:08See the other office getting completely gutted literally during this vlogging session.
08:12This is what I call open concept.
08:14But before moving on to demoing other things...
08:17Three, two, one.
08:21First, a ceremonial sledgehammering.
08:24Oh yeah.
08:26There you go.
08:28I made a hole.
08:29You did make a hole.
08:30Ah, it's a hole.
08:31That's pretty good.
08:32I guess this is our version of a demo day, which us not being trained construction professionals...
08:39Done this before?
08:40Actually, never.
08:42...meant just in one spot, away from the electrical panel to the left and highly supervised.
08:47And honestly, it's not as easy as it looks.
08:50Channel your Nordic ancestry.
08:52Although on second thought, it doesn't really look that easy.
08:59Again, stop navigating to the left.
09:01But between Tyler and I and two different sledgehammers...
09:05Wah!
09:06I got a little insulation.
09:08...and a little assist from our contractor, Tal...
09:11Oh yeah.
09:12Oh yeah!
09:14Ha ha!
09:15...we did pierce through this wall, at least a little bit.
09:18Oh wow!
09:19Here's Johnny!
09:23Whoa!
09:24Yay!
09:25Here's Johnny.
09:27Nice.
09:28Though once I put down the hammer, the actual professionals made quick work of the rest of the wall.
09:33So that's how you do it.
09:34Yeah, I think it's more about like a...
09:36Peeling.
09:37Peeling.
09:38Yes.
09:39Peeling, yeah, peeling.
09:40And that energy continued on to many walls in the building...
09:42Damn, completely empty up there now.
09:44...which one after another came tumbling down.
09:46Including the concrete wall of the other suite...
09:52...as well as also that back wall that separated the back of the warehouse,
09:55making our bay whole for the first time.
10:01And once our demo weeks were over, it was time for the heavy lifting to start.
10:05And I would say this was a major gut job,
10:07or actually, it was probably more like a complete reinforcement job,
10:11as though the building technically was not knocked down,
10:14almost everything was replaced and or seriously rehabbed.
10:18The walls, the front facade, the roof, the locations of the doors,
10:22not only to generally strengthen the building's frame,
10:25but also to improve its insulation and general acoustics.
10:28The last thing we need is to move into our new studio,
10:30just to hear every drop of rain on the ceiling.
10:33But the structure of the building was not the only thing getting a facelift,
10:36as in order to relocate the bathrooms into that like centralized hub,
10:40we had to give the floor the full treatment as well.
10:43Is it tube city time?
10:44There are some tubes back there.
10:45There are some tubes back there.
10:47So it was mostly removed and then repoured.
10:50Sort of concurrently to these steps, we started to build out our mezzanine.
10:53And per our plans, underneath the mezzanine,
10:56we started to layer in those additional rooms designed by Clearscapes,
10:59followed by a lot more steps that we're going to kind of graze over,
11:02like installing our big-ass air conditioner, electrical work, insulation,
11:06and then the stuff that goes over the insulation.
11:09Now, if we were gonna have an HGTV-style big conundrum
11:13during the construction process,
11:14it would probably have been about our large staircase,
11:17which the CliffsNotes version of was,
11:19it was extremely delayed and we weren't sure if it was ever going to arrive.
11:23But one day, it did.
11:25And we officially connected the mezzanine to the ground,
11:27so we could finally go up there.
11:29Watch out, there's people upstairs.
11:31Actually, on everything.
11:33Look at that.
11:34Pretty darn good.
11:35Pretty darn good, people.
11:36Definitely a step in the right direction.
11:38Okay, so while we're getting close on the construction side,
11:41let's talk a bit more about what everything is going to look like.
11:44So we headed back over to the Clearscapes offices
11:47to meet with Amy and Logan
11:48and make some decisions on hardware, finishes, paint colors, and more.
11:52Now, our main goal for the vibe of our space is industrial, quirky,
11:56modern, and optimized for mixed use, but not too cold or clinical.
12:00There are a few things that are kind of design givens already
12:03because of decisions we made for the actual function of the space.
12:06Like most of the ceiling and some key walls,
12:09we'll be covered in these black, sound-deadening audio blankets
12:12slash panel things to address our drafty box problem.
12:16The floor is a purposefully hodgepodge but finished concrete,
12:19so we aren't worried about potentially getting it scuffed up
12:22during a deranged experiment.
12:23And all the metal finishings of the warehouse,
12:25like beams, columns, railings, and stairs,
12:28are going to be a matte dark gray color.
12:30But to achieve our goal of industrial yet quirky,
12:33our thought process was to incorporate some light wood
12:36and also pops of color throughout the space.
12:38I don't know, it's kind of cute.
12:40What do you think, Ty?
12:41I like that.
12:42In fact, we had specifically asked Clearscapes
12:44to focus on purples and teals
12:46so it would match the colors we often use in our videos.
12:49Do you have a preference on what color you like?
12:51Oh, my gosh, my personal color analysis?
12:53Yes, your personal color analysis.
12:55But after some deliberations...
12:57Okay, I think you can, um...
12:59Can we just go through all the options you have beforehand?
13:02Absolutely, yes.
13:03For our entryway,
13:04we decided to go with a purple color block vibe
13:06with this wall treatment.
13:08It's kind of cool, yeah.
13:09It's quite good.
13:10That's really cool.
13:11And then to keep the entryway purple theme going,
13:13for the mail room...
13:14I kind of like the pale...
13:15I don't know, I kind of like the pale purple.
13:17We ended up going with a pale purple color
13:19for all of our long built-in shelves.
13:21As for the rooms on the flip side facing the back bay...
13:24Can we go through and zoom in on this area one more time?
13:27We decided to feature a bright teal color
13:29to help these spaces really pop from underneath the mezzanine.
13:32For the bathrooms,
13:33Logan had this really interesting idea
13:35of doing a colorful grout somewhere.
13:37This looks kind of good, actually.
13:39So we thought it would be cool to do, like,
13:41a blue-green tile with a blue-green grout.
13:44And then for the kitchenette,
13:45we kind of followed the same idea,
13:47but went even further with the color blocking
13:49by making a little teal floor apron
13:51jutting out into the concrete.
13:53I think Clearscape's earmarked this as their wacky option,
13:56but we were just wacky enough to do it.
13:58Upstairs, we are still going for the theme of industrial quirky,
14:01but since they are all offices
14:03that will have a fair amount of office furniture in them,
14:06we basically just need for them to be good canvases for now.
14:09And though we aren't going to be doing much more
14:11in the back bay for now,
14:12the audio paneling and finished concrete
14:14does give off a nice studio vibe.
14:17I think this giant pile is more acoustic foam.
14:20Yes.
14:21Which, like, really gets me hot.
14:24Yeah.
14:25I'm really excited about this.
14:26Yeah, yeah.
14:27I am aroused, currently, by the amount of acoustic foam.
14:30So with those design decisions cemented,
14:32it took a few months of some serious elbow grease,
14:35tiling, painting, and floor finishing
14:37to finally get to the long-awaited,
14:39finished but empty studio slash office.
14:42Time to fill it.
14:43All right.
14:44So it's a few months later,
14:46potentially many months later.
14:47We will never tell you how many months later,
14:50and construction is done.
14:52Things are in, painted.
14:53Furniture is here.
14:55So I think it's time to finally move in.
14:58So starting from the front in our entryway area,
15:00we did have to move in a bunch of our new,
15:02fancy Rove Concepts furniture,
15:04including a funky sofa for our little purple enclave.
15:08Oh, it is funky.
15:09It almost looks a little Flintstone-y to me.
15:11Yeah.
15:12Like it could be a bone.
15:13Pure boner jams?
15:14What?
15:15A bone?
15:16Okay, it looks like a bone.
15:17Okay, got it.
15:18As well as some more seating in the corner
15:19and a little plant.
15:20Ooh, look at this.
15:21Green in here.
15:22Plant is not real.
15:24That won't stop Cosmo from eating it either way.
15:26No, he'll eat it more.
15:27But we can't kill it, personally.
15:29And then we did have to fill our new built-in shelves
15:32with the first of our tchotchkes.
15:34Okay, some of these items are from videos,
15:37and some of them are from the Michael's Halloween section.
15:41We have a lot of tchotchke display
15:44and storage space throughout the office.
15:46Snapchat spectacles.
15:47I wonder if they still work.
15:48But we also have a lot of tchotchkes
15:50to fill those spaces.
15:52A subscriber gave this to me in 2017,
15:55and it survived many moves.
15:57Mementos, Vibesy pieces, our U2s,
16:00and two items that have also survived
16:02a number of moves for really no reason.
16:04These are from my mom,
16:05and anything that my mom sends me,
16:07no matter how annoying I find them,
16:08I can't throw away.
16:09Unfortunately true.
16:10Now, our mail room is totally full
16:12of our pale purple built-in shelves.
16:14Where shall the cheese graters go?
16:16Maybe here.
16:17Maybe at the end, actually.
16:19So the main things we need to move in
16:21are our many bins of packages and filming props.
16:24All right, we've got Eve 1 and Eve 2.
16:26A place of honor.
16:27This is the skincare printer
16:30that Phil Lester smuggled me from England.
16:32Both props we've already used,
16:34and some that we haven't yet filmed with.
16:36Figgy pudding flavored Spam.
16:38Spice up your holiday.
16:39It's supposed to still be good, right?
16:40Spam never expires.
16:41Never expires.
16:42So I'm sure it's great.
16:44It's just as fresh as the day it was canned.
16:46Some items are gonna live outside of the bins
16:48as semi-display items
16:50or in a proverbial prop Valhalla,
16:52like our many Holo Taco nail polishes
16:55and some Bratz dolls
16:56from our dressing like Bratz video from 2018.
16:59Remember that one time we almost died on Mount Baldy?
17:01Yep.
17:02That was fun.
17:04Yeah.
17:05Now, rounding the corner to our costume workshop,
17:08we have our primary clothing rack here
17:10that we needed to fill with some marquee costume pieces,
17:13as well as plenty of room for shoes.
17:15One pair we have to hang.
17:16Okay, okay, okay, okay.
17:17Okay, okay.
17:18We have one suspended thigh-high Ugg.
17:20It's like a cursed version of a Christmas story.
17:22It's the Sharpay version.
17:24But the rest we can display nicely on the shelving below,
17:27most of which are, of course, from our ugly shoe collection,
17:30some of which are still waiting for their moment in the sun.
17:33These guys I did actually wear around Nashville one time.
17:35Really?
17:36Yeah.
17:37We also filled up the wooden built-in display shelves
17:39next door with a lot of Crocs,
17:41a few disheveled wigs on wig heads.
17:43There's Farquad next to Insta shop tab.
17:46This one's been through a lot.
17:47I think this might be a 1900s date.
17:50Some more relics and tools for deranged crafting,
17:53and then a true, true treasure, our diamond play button.
17:56We did film an unboxing, but I'm not sure if we'll post it.
17:59Yeah.
18:00It was mostly me just crying.
18:02Put an excerpt right here.
18:03It was mostly me crying.
18:05A serious thank you to all of you subscribers out there
18:07who have quite frankly made all of this possible.
18:10Maybe we'll post the unboxing at some point
18:12if you can forgive the waterworks.
18:14Finally, we were able to reunite all of the outfits
18:16from past videos over the years in our giant walk-in closet.
18:20This is what happens when you feed your jeans after midnight.
18:22Some came from storage.
18:24Totally normal.
18:25Nothing weird here.
18:26Some came from our apartment.
18:28A wild bullet bra has appeared.
18:29Watch your eyes.
18:31And maybe some have been lost to time,
18:33but this is actually a good majority of them.
18:35It's horrifying.
18:36Oh, I was wondering where my Nick Cage outfit went.
18:40One might ask why I've kept all these pieces for so long.
18:43My favorite part about this is when you're wearing it
18:46and the camera decides to focus on his face instead of your own.
18:49This is happening.
18:50I guess I am just irrationally sentimentally attached to them.
18:54Some people were wondering what we do with our items
18:57in videos that are not so good.
18:59We keep them anyway.
19:01And maybe I'm saving them for a hypothetical future descendant
19:04who will probably not want anything to do with them.
19:07The cycle continues.
19:08Eventually, I have a dream to have a really big garage sale,
19:11but we'll see if that ever happens.
19:13Now for the kitchenette,
19:14somehow we decided we needed even more teal
19:17and went with some monochromatic teal chairs for our break room table.
19:21Does it blend in?
19:22Am I even holding a chair right now?
19:24Wow, I can't believe there are no chairs.
19:26And then we brought in our staple kitchenette appliances.
19:29We're nerdy bean people now.
19:30Yeah, it's an unfortunate personality trait.
19:33As well as a few fun tchotchke accents.
19:35Now zipping upstairs to our open office space on our mezzanine,
19:39we had ordered a giant custom table
19:41from a local company called Raleigh Reclaimed,
19:43which makes these beautiful tables out of repurposed wood.
19:46This one ended up being a classic 20-footer
19:49for all of our congregating needs.
19:51And we also crafted a nice little beanbag area in the corner.
19:54This is sort of a missing piece of my life,
19:56is the beanbag chair.
19:58These were, as you can guess, very inviting,
20:00especially at like the midpoint of our move-in day.
20:03Oh no, I've fallen.
20:06And I can't get up.
20:09All right, I can't get up.
20:10Oh, actually, yeah, I can't get up.
20:11And speaking of beanbags and beings who like to lounge in them,
20:15fittingly, I think this is where Crusty should go.
20:17Yes.
20:18Above our new beanbag pod area.
20:21He's home, baby.
20:22It's all coming together.
20:23And after conjuring up a number of office chairs to line our table,
20:27pay no attention to the legion of office chairs
20:30emerging from our office,
20:32it was time to tackle our workrooms,
20:34which we had split up into an editing cave
20:36and then our producer's office.
20:38In the latter, we started off by battling a room-sized Velcro rug.
20:42It's like applying a wrinkle patch to Tyler's forehead.
20:45You have to get out all the air bubbles.
20:46It is like that.
20:47Which actually ended up taking a team of us to totally lay flat.
20:51It was not just me.
20:52It was legitimately hard.
20:53It is hard.
20:54It was hard.
20:55Then we moved in a number of Rove Concepts pieces.
20:58I'm carrying it nicely because it's from Rove.
21:02As well as the first of our uplift standing desks.
21:04And then for a little flavor,
21:05we whipped out this neon cowboy boot sign
21:08to hang somewhere in the corner of the room.
21:10We're gonna put this in here.
21:11It's from Meow Wolf's Cowboy Heaven.
21:14Damn.
21:15The alien saloon in Texas.
21:17I've never been.
21:18But if you are in Houston, it seems cool.
21:21I've been to Omega Mart, okay?
21:23Now over in the editing cave,
21:25we moved in the rest of our fleet of uplift standing desks,
21:28which were also paired with uplift sitting chairs
21:31in case you wanna switch it up and not stand for a moment.
21:34This looks like NASA.
21:36Yeah.
21:37Doesn't it?
21:38This looks like the control room.
21:40As well as another Rove Concept seating area.
21:43I have a really important job.
21:45It's called carry the pillows.
21:47What are these weird shaped chairs without pillows?
21:49Which between the loungy chairs and rounded glass lamps.
21:53Cool lamp.
21:54It is a cool lamp.
21:55It's a really cool lamp.
21:56Gave off a sort of sleek mid-century vibe.
21:58This is our Mad Men seating area.
22:00Yeah.
22:01In the middle, we'll just have a lot of hard alcohol.
22:03Now because this room is mostly meant for post-production,
22:06we don't want too much natural light in here.
22:08But to spruce up our cave a bit,
22:10we decided to hang a number of colorful art pieces on this far wall.
22:14Some are prints that our designer Molly found,
22:16and a few are just art pieces that we've collected over the years.
22:19But this one is my favorite.
22:21One of our team members made like a collage of all of our hotel keys
22:24from when we stayed at every single hotel on the Vegas Strip.
22:27I love it.
22:28This is like a rogue Giada, but it's mostly Gordon.
22:30Now our softened tie office is going to include a mix of new furniture
22:34as well as old, which have stood the test of time and claw.
22:38My favorite part of the sofa is that I think both Krusty and Cosmo
22:41have gone to town.
22:42Oh, yeah.
22:43But because it's kind of knobbly, you sort of can't tell.
22:46Maybe we could trim the knobbliness a little.
22:49Thankfully, some of the new pieces continue that theme of knobbly fabric,
22:53so it hopefully isn't as evident when Cosmo inevitably scratches it up.
22:57I think that that is the most literal coffee table I've ever seen.
23:00Yeah.
23:01It is a table...
23:02For your coffee.
23:03For one coffee.
23:04From there, we added a set of table and chairs from Rove Concepts,
23:08so we have places to put things and also meet.
23:11I like all these new surfaces.
23:13You know what I mean?
23:14Our office has been mostly litter box until this point.
23:17Speaking of that damn cat, in the corner of the room,
23:20I did make this sort of crazy Cosmo purchase and got a giant cat tree.
23:24It was very expensive, and there's a lot of listings for it online,
23:27so kind of same dress situation.
23:29We're not exactly sure who the original source is,
23:31but it looks really fun,
23:33which I thought we could quickly assemble on this move-in day,
23:35but turned out to be a pretty involved build,
23:38so we'll come back to it.
23:39To finish off our move-in in the back bay,
23:41we set up two temporary sets for us to film in,
23:44one seamless set near the back,
23:46and then a recreation of our beauty room set from our apartment.
23:49You good?
23:50What?
23:51Um...
23:52It's all right.
23:53No, it's all right.
23:54Which, in practice, was basically just what was in that room
23:57floating in the middle of the warehouse,
23:59featuring our twinkle light curtain...
24:01Yeah!
24:03...cute, as well as most of my makeup collection on these shelves over here.
24:07A little taste of colonial Williamsburg right in the middle.
24:10Oh, and, of course, Shrek.
24:12Yeah.
24:13And then finally, in the way back of the bay,
24:15we put in some shelves which we've reserved
24:17for any additional tool-slash-prop overflow.
24:21I don't think you have any idea how many more Crock-Pots are coming.
24:24Can we do a Crock-Pot giveaway?
24:26We're thinking about it.
24:27Okay.
24:28We're thinking about it.
24:29And also all of our filming equipment.
24:31Can't forget that.
24:32And after some final zhuzhing,
24:34it was time for our official tour,
24:36chock-full of the befores and afters of each space
24:39that we've kind of been gatekeeping until now,
24:41starting with our entryway.
24:43If you guys remember,
24:44this was also a type of entryway-slash-lobby area to start
24:47and was also the general location of my ceremonial sledgehammering,
24:51but now it's an industrial-yet-quirky space
24:54featuring some rove-concepts furniture.
24:58There you go.
24:59Rove-concepts furniture.
25:01And some fun, internet-y, kitschy touches.
25:03This coffee table, which we didn't mention before,
25:05also has a fun, secret-siding compartment.
25:08So you could be, like, sitting at this table
25:10and then need a place to stash something secret really quick.
25:15Holy sh**.
25:16And then put it away before anyone noticed.
25:19Quick note, our sunshades are gonna be down in most of this footage,
25:22so just know there's usually a bit more natural light than you can see here.
25:26But especially during the day, I really like it down here.
25:29Really quick, around the corner from our entry room,
25:31there is a little closet that we kind of haven't mentioned at all so far
25:35that we're using to hang-up-slash-store all of our merch items,
25:38past, present, and prototypes.
25:40Like, that shirt you're wearing is unreleased merch.
25:42Maybe at some point we'll release it.
25:45I like this shirt.
25:46But back around to our mailroom.
25:48As you remember, this was sort of half-old entryway,
25:51half the bottom floor of that other suite that used to exist,
25:54and now it's a beautiful, lengthy, L-shaped mailroom of my dreams,
25:59with these two nice, long tables in here as well.
26:01I feel like these tables are good for unboxing things
26:06and or work-shopping-slash-building.
26:09Destroying, cutting, gluing.
26:11All possible options. They're craft tables.
26:13Also, I am pretty pleased with the way this sort of hollow taco shelf turned out,
26:17with our collection boxes and many polishes,
26:20but I'm open to any of Christine's reorganizing thoughts.
26:23In fact, I feel like that would be fun for her.
26:25So she's invited to come do that whenever she wants.
26:27And then somehow the only other nail polish that has survived to be displayed
26:31is Adam Lambert's Orly collab.
26:33So, congrats to Adam.
26:35Now around the corner used to be mostly where that other suite jutted out
26:39into the main building,
26:40but now is our fully-completed costume workshop room,
26:43featuring another giant Raleigh Reclaim table.
26:46I think truly cementing the workshop vibe.
26:49The idea is to do sort of what we're doing right now,
26:52which is to film things on it,
26:54but also that you could potentially lay out an entire dress or project
27:00and sew something or glue something.
27:03And I do want to note that on the shelves back here,
27:06it is not just mementos and tchotchkes on display.
27:08There are actual crafty appliances like our embroidery, cricket,
27:12and custom mug-making machines.
27:14Though obviously we can't forget about the Crocs shrine,
27:17which is now complete and sure to grow.
27:19Look Crocs, look what I have done for you.
27:22Look what I built you.
27:23It's sort of Helga from Hey Arnold-esque, right?
27:26And this is all obviously next door to our fully-stocked walk-in closet,
27:30which we sorted, I think aesthetically, by color
27:33and added some more bag and shoe storage up here,
27:35as well as mounted a few hats on the wall.
27:37Next up, our blue-green bathrooms in the middle of it all
27:40do feel very nice and tranquil, if I do say so myself.
27:43And then a little further down is our finished kitchenette,
27:46which is pretty much the other side of where I hears Johnny through the wall
27:50at this point almost two years ago.
27:52But it is now a very cute and quirky spot to brew some coffee
27:55or pretend you are under the sea.
27:57I feel like it's kind of giving like a midpoint of like underwater
28:02and like mid-century pastel kitchen.
28:05Although, make sure not to eat the cupcakes on the table
28:08because they're the ones I made out of soap five years ago.
28:11We literally moved them carefully from L.A.
28:14I might have put these in the van with you, me, and the cat.
28:17Also, before we head upstairs, there is this kind of extra seating area
28:21that popped up right below the mezzanine.
28:23It wasn't super planned, but we were able to unleash a couch
28:28from our storage unit that came with us from L.A.
28:31And it fits here, so it's dang.
28:33And after a trip up the stairs, that brings us to our mezzanine,
28:37which didn't exist before at all.
28:39I guess the second floor of that other suite technically existed,
28:42but on this side it was just air.
28:44But now it is exactly the open office terrace we envisioned,
28:47where we can have meetings, collaborative writing sessions, and more.
28:51Fun fact, this table was originally designed to be 30 feet long, but...
28:55This is 20.
28:57Yeah.
28:58Which I feel like is plenty.
29:00It's long enough.
29:01I also enjoy that Krusty's new spot above the beanbag chairs
29:04kind of gives the illusion that he is sitting at the head of the table,
29:07like some kind of lounging chairman of the board.
29:10It kind of makes sense. It's kind of like the house that Krusty built.
29:13Now, our team editing cave and producer's office
29:15are pretty much exactly where that old storage room used to be,
29:18but I think it's a much more inviting cave now,
29:21which I think we've achieved with our lights and artwork
29:23and a peak of sunlight every now and again,
29:25though I think everyone's favorite part is the standing desks.
29:28Ta-da!
29:30I feel pretty official.
29:31And I do definitely subscribe to the idea
29:33that changing your location or your altitude
29:36can help get the creative juices flowing.
29:38Actually, the entire editing cave is all about different heights.
29:42You could be standing, you could be sitting,
29:44you could be sitting even lower.
29:46That's why we wanted to have another seating area in here,
29:48and also why we wanted to have a few different spots
29:51to work throughout the office.
29:52And it seems our producer's office
29:54ended up with a pretty strong cowgirl theme.
29:57I don't know if that was, like,
29:58our intention setting out was cowgirl,
30:01but we ended up going with cowgirl.
30:04Maybe it was just some of those
30:05subliminal Bobby Flay Southwest flavors coming through.
30:08It's Mesa Grill in office form.
30:10Do we constantly have Mesa Grill,
30:13like, just bubbling beneath the surface?
30:15Maybe.
30:16Now, our office is located
30:18almost exactly where those terrifying rooms used to be,
30:21although it's not so scary anymore.
30:23A little Area 51 or UFO-y maybe,
30:25with some grays, purples, some orb-y rounded edges,
30:28and a giant alien neon sign.
30:31Sidelined by a slightly UFO-shaped Rove Concepts lamp.
30:35There are some tchotchke display opportunities
30:37in our new cabinets,
30:38as well as some artwork sprinkled throughout,
30:40but I would say the predominant theme
30:42is optimized for cat,
30:44headlined by our giant cat tree.
30:46It is not necessarily bigger than I thought it would be,
30:48but, like, in person, it feels really large.
30:50It's substantial.
30:51Like, it feels really big.
30:54Which I can confirm that Cosmo was instantly a fan of.
30:57Here he is perched menacingly at the top,
30:59making sure that we are getting everything done for him on time.
31:02Now, I guess, in principle,
31:04the back bay hasn't changed that much,
31:06except for the fact that it definitely has.
31:08For a filming space,
31:09you don't really want any natural light coming in,
31:11so it is sort of a black box empty canvas,
31:14but I think it's pretty sleek-looking
31:15with all the audio paneling,
31:17and thankfully, also very quiet back here now.
31:20So drafty box it is no longer.
31:22Now, coming clean,
31:23we have filmed a few videos in here already,
31:25and we have also been using our two temporary sets quite a bit.
31:28This set we use for our, like, straight-to-cams and intros,
31:31and this seamless set in the back corner
31:33we've been using for our turntable shots and unboxing segments.
31:36Currently inhabiting this space
31:38is our giant mannequin, Francine.
31:41This one is objectively terrifying if you see it at night.
31:43She is a bit taller than me,
31:45but that is mostly because she has heels built into her feet.
31:48That's the other terrifying thing about her.
31:50Which is quite a different female form
31:52than what used to occupy this corner.
31:54And then still in the back bay is our Franken-Yankee candle,
31:57and also a beer-brewing pot in which we brewed it.
32:01Now, we do have a lot of travel content planned
32:03for the next few months,
32:04so not every video coming up will be filmed in the studio,
32:07but this space isn't just for right now.
32:09It's also for the future,
32:10and we have a lot of dreams and plans for this place
32:13that we hope can come true over the next couple of years.
32:16We'll keep you posted with any new developments
32:18like a kitchen set or model bathroom
32:20where we can test bath bombs.
32:21Who knows?
32:22But overall, we just wanna say a huge thank you
32:24to all of you who watch and support us
32:26for helping make the studio a reality.
32:28And also a big thank you to everyone
32:30who worked on this project with us
32:32and helped make our vision come to life.
32:34Now, excuse me while I go try and pull Cosmo
32:36out of the cat tree,
32:37because it's time to go home.
