Rubio defends Trump’s 51st state rhetoric while on Canadian soil

Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly put aside the diplomatic niceties Friday at a meeting of G7 leaders in Quebec.  Joly shooting back at her U.S. counterpart, Marco Rubio, telling him he can’t just come to Canada and disrespect the entire country by repeating claims that Canada should become another U.S. state.  Rubio defended President Donald Trump’s threats to make Canada the 51st state, calling it an economic “argument” that “stands for itself.”  Touria Izri reports on Rubio’s comments and Canada’s response. 00:31But the message does not appear to be getting through to the Trump administration, which

00:35continues to entertain annexation.
