00:00Vienna's Chinese-Austrian Business Forum aims at promoting bilateral trade in an era of increasing barriers.
00:08After meeting Austria's new centrist government, the 60-strong Chinese delegation held a trade event together with the Austrian Chamber of Commerce.
00:17We are suffering from the new policy in the US since President Trump is in office.
00:25And we have big troubles also for our business relation around the globe.
00:30And China is an important partner for us. Why?
00:34The People's Republic of China is very interesting for free trade, open markets, and this is also our intention in Europe.
00:43So, conferences like this is a good milestone on the way to have a better world with a free trade around the globe.
00:53Like many other European countries, Austria has repeatedly complained about its trade deficit with China.
00:59But last year, in a step in the right direction, exports to China rose by more than 7%.
01:06In the past years, some major Chinese companies have opened European headquarters in Vienna,
01:11among them train manufacturer CRRC and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.
01:16Austria is strong for your automobile and machinery manufacturing, as well as the chemicals and food processes.
01:26And these are the areas that the Chinese business community would like to seek opportunities in future.
01:33In recent years, there are a lot of turbulence of the supply chain cooperation, particularly pandemics, geopolitical conflicts, and even war.
01:44I would invite all Austrian companies to participate in CRRC, the Supply Chain Expo in China,
01:51because that's a platform, that's the access for you to go to China, to go to the Chinese market.
01:58After the stop in Vienna, the Chinese trade delegation will travel to Italy on Sunday and continue to Serbia next Wednesday,
02:05where a roadshow of Beijing's upcoming International Supply Chain Expo will take place.
